It's the grand opening of the first exhibit at the
Cambridge Kiosk nestled in Harvard Square, right outside the Red
Line station.

You know, before we had cell phones and computers and AI,
we had the Kiosks.

Mayor of Cambridge, Denise Simmons, and I tore the brand
new facility, designed with input from the public.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
This is where my mother would get her African American newspapers.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Architect Ted Telukian is behind the redesign of what was
built as a headhouse to the subway in the nineteen twenties.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
You know, you've got new heating system, new case work.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
It was retired then turned into a newsstand for out
of town news in the nineteen fifties that closed in
twenty nineteen. Now it's a shared space for Cambridge tourism
and art exhibits from the Culture House nonprofit JABLETWBZ, Boston's
news radio
