The first of two installations by German based artist Chiro
Shiota at the Watershed is a bunch of suitcases floating
in a field of thread, and the other one, even larger,
is in the shape of a house made of ropes.
It's called home Less Home. Ruth Erickson is a curator
for the Ica.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
So she has built here about one hundred foot long
silhouette of a house, and she's done that with over
one hundred miles of thin red rope. She's constructed and
hung it from the ceiling. And within this space she
has suspended hundreds of pieces of paper.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
Those pieces of paper floating around like little birds, were
submitted by people in and around Boston, each defining with
stories or pictures or both what home means to them.
