Jury Selection For Karen Read's Retrial Resumes Monday

So far, ten seats have been filled. As we head
into week two of jury selection, Judge Beverly Canoni has
talked to more than seventy potential jurors. Over ninety percent
she talked to at Norfolk Superior Cordon Dedham had heard
about the high profile case more than half had an
opinion about it. The judge wants to fill at least
six more seats before the trial can begin. It's been
suggested that jury selection could take weeks, with the first

trial that ended in a mistrial over a hung jury
gaining global attention. Just last week, Karen Reid supporters hosted
standouts across the country ahead of the second trial. Reed's
defense team is still working to get the second to
gray murder charge and the leaving the scene of a
crash resulting in death charge thrown out on double jeopardy grounds.
They're asking the Supreme Court to take up the case.
