Speaker 1 (00:00):
Today started with State Police crime lab expert Maureen Hartnett
back on the stand. She picked up right where she
left off, telling the jury about evidence collected from outside
the Canton home near the body of John o'keef. Some
of that evidence included pieces of reeds, SUV, the tail light,
and clothing. Special Prosecutor Hank Brennan went right back into
the infamous red Solo cups.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
You mentioned that you had an opportunity to observe a
paper bag that had red solo cups in it. Yes,
that's correct, and the red Solo cups had a coloring
of red in the cups. Yes, you'd never seen blood
preserved and cups like that before.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
To the form, do you know the circumstances surrounding the
effort made to try to preserve that evidence?
Speaker 4 (00:41):
Can you just be more specific in what you mean
by circumstances?
Speaker 3 (00:44):
Sure? Do you know where those red cups came from?
Speaker 4 (00:47):
I was told they were collected from the scene. I
don't have firsthand knowledge of the collection.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
You weren't at the scene that morning, were you? No?
Speaker 4 (00:54):
I was not.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Do you know that what the circumstances of the challenges were.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
No, I'm not aware Throughout this retrial when the initial
trial for that matter, Karen Reid's attorneys have been questioning
the evidence collection methods by state police, and whether evidence
could have been tainted or tampered with. Drew mohallan WBZ,
