License plate readers are meant to help local police catch criminals,
but some councilors are concerned that that data collected might
be used by the Trump administration and its mass deportation effort.
This comes as residents express their own fears at the
latest council meeting.

We see raids today on communities across Massachusetts. We've seen
how they occupied La d C, Chicago, and how they're
threatening the same in Boston. All of this is enabled
by the military and surveillance contractors who arm them, equipped them,
and spy on our communities.

The city Council will prove the use of license plateed
readers in February, but they have not been put into
effect yet. The city manager has been requested to consider
the implications of the technology at Cambridge City Hall. James
