Local Health Advocates Rally In Support Of A Health Equity Bill

Alongside dozens of supporters. Health advocates of color stood outside
the State House to support a bill they say, we'll
codify health equity across the commonwealth.

Unacceptable that you can get on a train just a
few feet from here and take a ride three four
stops and live twenty three years less.

Michael Curry, the president of the Massachusetts League of Community
Health Centers, is talking about the life expectancy difference between
Back Bay and Roxbury.

We can address that right with access to care, with
affordability of care, with equity, and how we provide coverage
and patient care medications.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
He says the Act to Advanced Health Equity will level
the playing field, making health equity a statewide priority and
strengthening the health workforce. Rassan Hall, the President and CEO
of Eastern Massachusetts, calls this a watershed moment in Commonwealth history.

in the health industries that came together to say we
know what is best for our communities.
