Lynn Ferry Gets New Name After Important Civil Rights Leader

And with the shattering of champagne bottle, the Scoutic Explorer
officially became the Frederick Douglass, renamed for the iconic figure
of American history who spent many years living in Lynn.
Thurgood Marshall Middle schooler Elsa mckendall won the ferry naming
contest with an essay about Douglas.

As an American child. I'm honored that Frederick Douglass was picked.
He fucked for the freedom of rights of African Americans
and women. Because of this, he is my hero and
the reason I'm proud the Pharaoh will be name in
the honor of his legacy.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
The ferry is part of a fleet that helps connect
Lynn with Boston by water, something Lieutenant Governor Kim driscoll
says was a goal of the administration.

There are no potholes in the harbor. It is a
great way to get to work, to go in to visit,
to go to school. And we've got to figure out
how to actually have a network, and that's exactly what
we're doing.
