MassDOT And Museum Of Science Propose Riverwalk To Connect Boston And Cambridge

The Riverwalk bridge construction project at Science Fair would create
a new shared use path connection that would connect Boston
and Cambridge. It would sit right next to the Museum
of Science.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Even though I do drive a car occasionally, carfee experience
sounds great.

Margo likes the idea.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
I think it's a great idea to have a better
connection between here where we are with the police station
over to Cambridge. Otherwise it's really hard to find your
way meander back and it's not doesn't do the safest.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
Either, And a feasibility study conducted it shows the early
design proposal that depicts a main trail from one side
to the other with a combination of elevated bridges and boardwalks,
with some floating elements as well. The project could cost
around three hundred million dollars.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
That sounds like a lot to me, but I'm sure
no one's asking me to pay for it directly. But
that's a lot of money.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
But it is still early design phases, so it could change.
But overall, you think maybe if they brought that price
tag down, it sounds like a good idea.

Yeah, in general, the concept is.
