Mayor Michelle Wu Signs Measure to Fund Youth Sports in Boston

The mayor of Title Town wants to make sure the
next generation of champions have the tools they need to succeed.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
I have the pleasure of being a soccer mom in
Boston and seeing a little bit of the youth sports scene.
I know how important it is for our young people
to have that outlet.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
That's why Mayor Michelle Wu is having Boston sign on
to the Children's Bill of Rights and Sports, a plan
to foster a safe, inclusive, and equal youth sports environment.
With that, the city is handing out three hundred thousand
dollars in grants to youth sports organizations to cover things
like equipment and fees, along with a new online map
of every field, court, track, rank, you name it in
the entire city.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
This is the very first time that Boston has ever
had a map in one place that includes all of
our city's sports facilities. It's going to help us internally
in our planning department also identify where the gaps
