Speaker 1 (00:00):
Opinion that Boston Calling the Concert not returning next year,

(00:04):
no reason given. No one knows. Why do you know
why they're not coming back next year? Did it have
anything to do with city regulation at the event on
problems with the event.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Of a no As I understand, they had reached out
to me to share that because next year will be
so busy between the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary celebrations
between FIFA coming that there will just be a lot
of strain on hotel rooms and events and sponsorships, and
so given all that it is happening in that exact

(00:34):
same window in Boston, that it'd be better not to
sort of have different sponsorships that are conflicting or stretch
too thin, and really do it right so that we
can enjoy the Boston Calling event bigger and better when
it does come back, so.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
The city welcomes it back when they do return.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Oh yeah, I mean, we would have found a way
to make it work in either case. You know, in
my mind, the more events the better. But I'm not
the one that has to worry about finding the sponsorships
to fund them. We worry about public safety and how
to permit and manage that, and so we will always
find a way to make it work. We welcome anyone
who wants to throw something that can activate our city

(01:12):
and bring people together. But I totally understand and respect
the organized decision that, with so much going on at
such a large scale, they wanted to focus and kind
of be part of what's already happening, and then focus
on this for the year after.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
