Speaker 1 (00:00):
It happens all too often. A school bus stops for
a pickup or drop off. Lights are flashing stop sign
on display, but cars dangerously whizz right by.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Everybody's busy, everybody wants to go to work, we're laid whatever.
But it's better to lose one minute than lose someone.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
That's Melvin, a local school bus driver who's had too
many close calls. But now the Methuin City Council has
adopted a state law that allows police to ticket those
bad drivers caught on school bus video.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Having that tool will definitely help and find the people
that don't respect the rules.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
A school bus traffic enforcement team will review footage and
issue citations. Michael, a new Mithune residence, likes that news.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Kids should be safe and people should be obeying the
stop sign in Methuin.
