Some of the country's top universities have had their federal
funds targeted, like Harvard University, with the Trump administration heavily
scrutinizing schools or pro Palestinian protests erupted on campus. Now,
leaders at MIT are developing their own strategy. The Globe
reports that senior leaders met in April with funding cuts
on the mind. MIT's treasurer Glenn Shore, says in one circumstance,
the university could risk losing around twenty three per cent

obtained by The Globe, MIT President Sally Kornblooth told staff
that it's a balancing act to make sure the school
can keep functioning while meeting its goals, and that she
expects a prolonged period of challenge. Hornblooth also saying that
MIT needs to adapt to the federal government's priorities while
pushing back against the administration when they feel it's overreached.
