Music, Art, And Protest Collide At Somerville's 'Dream A Better World Fest'

It's an afternoon full of protest, music, poetry, art, speeches,
and more at Warehouse eleven and Somerville's Union Square as
folks gather for the Dream of Better World Fest. Melyssa
Nylis organized the festival to motivate people that are frustrated
with the state of the country and the world.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Essentially brings the community together that helps people move out
of despair or freeze mode into kind of action and
awareness and feeling like you're part of a community. And
it's important for people right now to not feel alone,
to feel like there's a space for moving forward as society.

Or band Ruby Grove is playing a long acts like
why Try, Evan Greer and more different activist groups from
a range of causes or on hand to help connect
with people with ice crackdowns and federal funding cuts hitting
Somerville and the rest of the state. Nyla says, now
is the time to take action.

It's really important to remember that these things are happening
to people that we know, and that we need to
respond however we can.
