Needham is the latest town to reject mandates from the
state on rezoning for multi family housing. The controversial state law,
which just received a blessing from the state's highest court,
calls for communities served by the MBTA to allow for
multi family housing, but many towns have been putting up
a fight, and that now includes Needham. There were some
twelve thousand votes cast this week, with the Nose winning
(00:22):
out by a two thousand vote margin. They now have
to come up with a new plan to be in
compliance with the state. It will likely face heavy opposition.
