New England Aquarium Getting Ready For Shark Week

We are really proud of the shark work that we
do and we want to be able to share that
with the people in the building.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
It's an immersive experience. Put on the virtual reality headset
and you find yourself on a boat with a team
of researchers and a shark that's being tagged and then
set free so it can be tracked for years to come.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
We're able to bring out cameras and go pros with
us and then create like a virtual reality experience for people.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Emily Jones is the scientific program officer with the Anderson
Cabit Center for Ocean Life at the New England Aquarium.
She says getting kids excited about learning is the name
of the game on Shark and Ray Awareness Day.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
A lot of the work that we do here in
New England is around seeing where these animals go and
what areas are important to them. So, for example, right
here in Boston Harbor, we get juvenile sandtiger.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
