NH Governor Opposes Plan To Cover Shortfall By Raising Tolls

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation has a ten year
plan of improvement projects. The problem is there's a four
hundred million dollar revenue deficit, which is why is proposing
a one dollar increase at three toll plausas, including Bedford,
Hooksett and Hampton. Now, some residents like this guy support
the funding plan.

Highways, back roads, every road just nothing's good, potholes everywhere.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
Others like the governor, however, are against the proposal, including
Jerry of Salem.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Good for her, yeah, I support her, well, I just
don't agree with the whole thing.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
I mean, what do you call it? Highway robbery.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
The last system wide toll increase in the state was
back in two thousand and seven in Salem, New Hampshire.
