Norfolk County Sheriff's Office Warns Residents Of Jury Duty Scam

This guy's thinking the same thing many of us often
think when a new scam surface.

Is amazing how much time these people have to sit
at home and think about how to screw somebody else.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
At least one victim has already been taken for close
to seventy grand told by the frauds, who claimed to
be with the sheriff's office that he faced a rest
if he didn't pay a fine for failing to show
at a scheduled court appearance.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
It's very sad, very shameful.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
Do you know anybody who has had their confidence taken?

You know, I have a ninety seven year old grandmother
and she goes through this a lot.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Hence the new warning, which implores potential victims not to
act hastily or to send money in duress. Adds the alert,
no agency makes these types of calls, and if you
