Norwood Animal Control Offers Guidance Regarding Bobcat Sightings

Thursday, we got exciting at a toddler playground here in Norwood.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Norwould Animal control officer Brianna Hernandez says bobcats are in
western end, Central Mass but coming east for the food.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
Leaving food outside attracts more predators.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
One was spotted in Westwood late last month and this
week in Norwood up.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
On Croydon and Melvern, and it was two of them now,
so it makes me think that they're actually mating.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Norwood animal control officer Henry Sakara says, we're supposed to
react differently to bobcats than when we see other wild animals.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
Coyotes, foxes. I recommend that people make noise and try
to scare them away. If you run into a bobcat,
just talk calmly and walk away, but do not turn
you back on them.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
He says. Bobcats have bob tails, toufts on their ears,
and are twice as big as your average house cat
