Children’s book author and illustrator Peter Reynolds and his brother Paul have collaborated with Pope Francis on a picture book that brings the Pope’s message to a new generation of kids.

Peter and Paul were raised Catholic.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
To get a call to say would you like to
do a book to bring Pope Francis's stories to the world.
That was a quick yes and pretty surreal.
Speaker 1 (00:10):
It's called Our Treasures Within and brings the Pope's message
to children.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
We're all born with this little treasure box inside, and
our job is to open the box and discover what
gifts we were given and then figure out how am
I going to share them with the world to make
it better.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Paul says, you don't have to be a talented writer,
musician or scientist to have a gift.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
The gift of kindness, a warm smile, the small act
that can change them this whole day.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Paul says his brother was a bit nervous when he
was asked to include an illustration of the Pope.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Pape Francis just has this almost like an impish, joyful
spirit to his face.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
He wanted to make sure that he captured it.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
The book comes out January twentieth.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
