Parkour Generations Boston Continues To Empower All Ages In Somerville

Nestled in between a home and a flower shop on
Somerville Aff you can find an obstacle course of benches, railings,
and bars. It's the home base for Parkour Generations Boston,
a group started by Blake Evitt that teaches the art
of traversing ones environment to people of all ages. He says, well,
parker is not the viral sensation it was back in
the early twenty tents. It's very much ingrained in our
culture now.

Most kids, when you ask them what's parkour, they at
least know it's been on Minecraft, It's in on all
the videos and all the games, and it's pretty much
permeated everywhere.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
But for Evident his classes, it's more than just some
dudes doing crazy flips for YouTube views. It's about empowering
people to feel comfortable in their city and environment and
feel like the world is their playground.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Doesn't have to be a set of stairs that you
walk down. You can crawl down. It doesn't have to
be a railing that you walk alongside. You can go
over it, you can go under it, you can go
around it, you can go through it.
