This pilot program focuses on young mothers experiencing acute trauma.
It's run by the local nonprofit group Rocca. State lawmakers
were briefed on the progress of the program by Cnindia
Bala with Rocca, who talked about the focus of the program.

Everybody needs and deserves the chance. Everybody needs and deserves
a chance to be the young women and moms they
want to be. Some need more support than others, but
we see the resilience the hope in everybody and we
want to help them get there.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Lawmakers learn that around three hundred at risk young mothers
have been served by the program and many are seeing
reductions in depression, PTSD symptoms and levels of domestic violence.
