Speaker 1 (00:00):
Street takeovers. The rowdy meetups that block off roadways with
a ton of noise have made headlines in recent months.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
I think it has been a problem for a while.
I don't know if we have had the appetite to

Speaker 1 (00:11):
State Rep. Christopher Marky is proposing changing the law to
dial back some of the chaos.

Speaker 2 (00:15):

off local roads, officials would be able to ask that
the person's car be taken away. He says there's precedent

oversee the hearing. He figures these souped up cars are
often prized possessions, so it gives police a little more teeth.

hide their identity while disturbing the peace.

Speaker 2 (00:43):

dollar fine.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
He says. Mask wearing is common at street takeovers. Kyle
