A proposed bill on Beacon Hill would allow base state
cities and towns to opt into a program which would
tax the sale of laquor by two percent and rechannel
those funds into addiction prevention and recovery programs. Good in theory,
he says, but a tax, nonetheless.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
About the whole premise of what we built as a
country was to not be as tax as we are.
We're continually taxed.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
Not quite enough by this man's measure.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
I really don't care about raising taxes and alcohol. Honestly,
don't think we're overtaxed. We kind of should be taxed
to pay for things.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
But the lady's proposal doesn't fly with her.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
We struggle now as it is for everything we have
to buy. To add more taxes just doesn't make sense.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
