A new filing in Boston Federal Court shows a decision
from the head of the DOJ. United States Attorney General
Pam Bondi has directed the government not to seek capital
punishment for Matthew Farwell. He's accused of killing a witness
and her unborn son. Federal prosecutors alleged the ex officer
took the life of Sandra Birchmore to stop their relationship
from coming to light that he'd groomed her as a

young teenager and had been told the baby was his.
Farwells pleaded not guilty, and the local medical Examiner's office
has stood by its determination that the death was a suicide.
In the new filing, prosecutors don't elaborate on the decision.
President Trump did sign a day one executive order telling
the age to pursue the death penalty quote for all
