Protesters Demonstrate Outside Burlington ICE Detention Facility

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Every Wednesday from eleven to one. For the last twenty
one weeks, Jared Berezon and his wife Laurie have been
demonstrating outside of the Iced Attention facility in Burlington. Over time,
we've gotten more and more people to join them, to
the point where they have over six hundred and fifty
people here, their largest rally yet. The movement is called
Bearing Witness at ICE, and Berison says it's important that
their witnesses here.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
The goal of our movement here is to see what's
happening with our own eyes. There is something about coming
to a place like this, looking at this building, meeting
immigrants who are here, meeting family members as we did
this morning.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Carter Chamberlain lives in Burlington and is here wearing twenty
four upside down American flags flying from a harness on
his back. He's here because he thinks the facility gives
the town a bad name.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
I want to make sure that everywhere I live is
better when I leave.
