Salem Honors Residents Lost To COVID-19 Through New Memorial

A new memorial was unveiled here at Palmer Cove Park.
Claudia was at the ceremony looking at the new stone
and plaque that officials hope can become a space for reflection.

I look at my life and I say before and
after COVID, just like nine to eleven, Before and after
nine eleven. I mean, they're momentous milestones in the life
that I've lived.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Mayre Dominic Pangelo was among those who had the honor
of revealing the memorial.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
We've learned lessons from history, that's what we do here
in Salem, and you know, we've learned that lesson from
what happened here in twenty twenty one, and really wanted
to make sure that we're building a stronger foundation for
the future, so that people are protecting one another. They're
protecting their families and their loved ones, and we're protecting
each other as a community.
