Salem Welcomes Home 'Friendship' After Repairs Made To Tall Ship Replica

Derby Wharf here in Salem just wasn't the same without
the friendship. The tall ship, replica of an eighteenth century
merchant ship, was in Gloucester undergoing repairs. There's so much
history in this city, and this woman, a visitor to
the wharf, says the friendship is an important reminder of
the maritime part of that history.

I think it's just representative of the town itself, like
brings it all together, the history, like in terms of
like the marine life, and then in terms of like
the witch trials.

I think it just like all brings it together. It's
like it feels like a full circle moment to me.

The ship coming back. Yeah, the Friendship was towed here
Tuesday and will be covered until all the repairs are completed,
probably next summer, but she'll be open to the public
