Shoppers In Quincy Support Local Businesses Ahead Of The Holiday

As the holiday shopping season begins, plenty of people are doing it the old fashion way.

We're still weeks away from the holidays, but hundreds of
people are out at North Quincy High School to make
sure they're on top of their gifts. This year, White
Pine Markets is hosting its annual holiday shopping expo in
the cafeteria and gym with over one hundred local vendors.
And despite the fact it's easier than ever to just
order gifts online, buying local seems to be at the
top of people's wish list this year.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Just a different way to shop this year, instead of
ordering from all the big corporate websites and all that.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
It's always good to support local and I again find
it much more meaningful to come and pick something out
that is specific to someone instead of just buying the
same old things that no one needs. And it's much
more fun.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
But this market here isn't just giving back to local businesses.
The event is also fundraising to help students at North
Quincy High and that was a draw for Amy.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
My son will be going to this high school. So
it's always good to come and see what you know,
the band is doing, what the boosters are doing, all
that good stuff from Quincy.
