Solstice Ready To Welcome Thousands At Mount Auburn Cemetery

Winter Solstice is a time to reflect here at Mount
Auburn Cemetery, and President Matthew Stevens gave me a preview
of what's on tap this year.

It is a self guided tour that's about a mile
long loop into our landmark landscape, and it's both indoor
and outdoor. So you'll start in one of our chapels
where you can see members of the community really talk
about what the Solstice means to them. That really intends
to set the tone for the experience.

Then you'll see colorful lights and high tech art installations
throughout the cemetery. At one point on the.

Tour, the front of this gothic chapel becomes a canvas
for projection mapped arts.

Just like the trees here in the arboretum. The event
continues to grow each year.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
We believe we're the only cemetery who does this. This
year we'll probably welcome close to twenty thousand people to
Winter Solstice.
