Somerville Residents React To Ball Python On The Loose In City

Oh my god, I never saw anything like that here.

Neighbors have been posting the sightings online around Taylor Street
and Mystic Avenue, but so far, this slithery snake has
been staying under the radar.

When I showed JB a photo of the ball python,
he was too stunned to speak.

Speaker 4 (00:14):
Wow, I did that guy. This is This is definitely
the first.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
But now he's feeling a little more adventurous, like a
Somerville Steve went.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
It's a little concerning yet, I will say, but I
mean personally, I might have got worried wrong.

More kind of exciting.

So maybe see a snake a little bit, just just
just ab.

Yeah, Lenny is only concern is her ten pound pup
named Jaws.

Yeah.

Maybe I will keep her on a shorter leash and
make sure that she doesn't wander off.

The ball python is white and brown. People tend to
get them as pets because they're relatively docile and non venomous.
Somerville Animal Control has been checking out the sighting spots,
but so far nothing yet. In Somerville, I'm a freedman.
