The City Of Lynn Addresses Sound Complaints For Their UV Pilot Program

We've evaluated different kinds of technology. One of the leading
contenders is ultra violent that disinfects and cleans the water.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
That's Lynn Mayor Jared Nicholson. While the uv pilot program
to clean up Kings Beach hit a few snags in
the beginning, he says they've been working through those operational
issues and so far it's been promising.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
But when it's working the way it's supposed to, it
has been working really well, and the beach has been
open and swimmable for much more of the time than
previous years.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
During the ribbon cutting, some people who live around the
temporary treatment unit complained that the construction has been loud.
Mayor Nicholson says that they've taken steps to improve it
with fencing and sound blankets.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
I believe the decibels have gone down. I have certainly
spent time at the site, and also the feedback that
we've gotten from folks is that the sound blankets have
been effective.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
He says they're still working to improve the noise and
