The DCR Holds Pre-Construction Meeting for Walden Pond

DCR and some visitors have long considered the aging bathhouse
at Walden Pond to be an is soore.

So in a virtual public meeting, architects for the agency
laid out a plan to completely redesign the structure and
the face of Walden Pond's main beach itself. The steep

In its place would be a large, pointy wooden glass
structure and a boardwalk.

As part of this project, there would be one hundred
and ninety seven new trees over eleven hundred shrubs.

The plan was well received by orgs that serve Walden Pond,
but some lay people were less than pleased.

On top of that, we're going to keep the footprint
of the existing bathhous so hey, let's add a few
more buildings.

And this won't come cheap either. The renovations will likely
