The U.S. Treasury Department Will Cease Production of Pennies In 2026

It may seem many of us solely rely on debit
or credit cards, phones, and other contact lists payment options,
but some still find the penny pretty.

Useful all the time. People play with pennies all the time.

Samuel works at a local gas station here in Everett,
though he does say there is an obvious penny problem.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
We do give up pennies often, but we also are
not receiving them, so, like you said, they do go
out of circulation. Fest the pennies are the are like
our biggest coin coin problem or coin shortage, and most
like I would say, it was fast food or small restaurants.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
But as the US Treasury prepares to permanently pause penny production,
the question is will people be okay with keeping that change?
