The Who's Sir Roger Daltrey created Teen Cancer America over
a decade ago to help provide teens and young adults
with the safe space during cancer treatments. It was founded
after realizing many teens and young adults going through treatment
or grouped with people much younger or older than them.
Daltery says giving patients a safe space with people their
age is crucial.

Because it involves that middle group that it's so hard
for them these days life is changing so fast. Because
it brings them into the community more than being isolated,
I think it will help the whole of society.

Samantha takes part in the program at Dana Farber and
says having people her age she could relate to helps
her a lot.

When you come out of it is when it really
gets hard, and that's when you need people that get
you and see you and can understand you to let
you know that like, you're going to be able to
get through this because other young adults don't get you anymore.
