It looks just like hockey, but Mass Adaptive Hockey director
ray La Blanc says the puck is different.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
It's a metal puck, slightly bigger than a regular puck,
and it's hollow and inside there's eight bebies, so they
are tracking the sound of that.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
There are various levels of blindness, but the goalies are
completely blind.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
For the goalies to be able to know that it's coming,
once they get past the blue line, they have to
make a clean pass to a fellow teammate and then
it will sound like this.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Bob love seeing his son Andrew play goalie on the
national team.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
It's one of those things that's made me cry many times.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
His teammate Dan Shram says finding blind hockey changed his life.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
When you're on the ice with other people going through
similar stuff, worse stuff than you just feel right at home.
It's truly one of the only places where I don't
feel like I'm affected.
