Massachusetts new budget includes a boost in funding for healthcare, education,
and transportation for families. It lowers childcare costs through subsidies,
and earmarks four hundred and seventy five million for early
education and care providers to offset their cost to help
keep care more affordable. And the budget is a big
win for renters with the elimination of renter paid broker fees,

which are typically one month's rent and can be a
major financial hurdle for renters.

If you've moved apartments recently, you probably paid four months
rent upfront, first month, last month, security deposit, and a
broker's fee for broker you didn't even hire.

The fee will now be paid by whoever hires the broker,
which is usually the landlord.

So it doesn't need to be more expensive than it
already is. This is about saving you money.

Overall. The new budget raises spending by more than five percent,
but is more than one billion dollars less than the
