Capuché, brûlé, vénère : 𝘋𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘮𝘢𝘯 débarque dans 𝗟𝗮 𝗩𝗲́𝗿𝗶𝗳 pour une plongée de deux heures dans les entrailles d’un film aussi culte que mal aimé. Sorti en 1990, ce projet fou marque un tournant dans la carrière de 𝘚𝘢𝘮 𝘙𝘢𝘪𝘮𝘪, qui, recalé des studios pour 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘸 ou 𝘉𝘢𝘵𝘮𝘢𝘯, invente son propre croquemitaine tragique et survolté.
Un patchwork halluciné de tragédie romantique, de comic book tordu et de série B déglinguée — bref, un vrai labo pour le futur 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳-𝘔𝘢𝘯.
On y cause :
De l’influence massive de 𝘋𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘮𝘢𝘯 sur le film de super-héros moderne,
Des deux suites DTV qu’on aurait préféré oublier au fond d’un bac à soldes,
De tous ces films des années 90 qui ont tenté maladroitement de ressusciter l’esprit Pulp ou Comic book sans jamais retrouver la magie (ou la folie).
Et comme on ne fait pas les choses à moitié, cette chronique s’appuie sur l’édition 𝗨𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗕𝗹𝘂-𝗿𝗮𝘆 éditée en 2017 par L’Atelier d’Images.
Un objet somptueux, pour un film qui l’est tout autant.
