🎙️ Chris Carragher (Chris Caggs) – Radio DJ, Music Programmer & Podcaster Aged 48, Chris Caggs is a veteran of the Australian radio and music scene with nearly 30 years of broadcasting across 16 major radio stations and syndication through 200 more via the Community Radio Network (ComRad Satellite). Known for his deep passion for RnB, Hip Hop, Dance, and EDM, Chris is the creator and host of ShakeDown Radio Podcast, a globally syndicated mix show that celebrates the rhythm and soul of contemporary and nostalgic club culture. 📡 Career Beginnings and Breakthroughs In July 1998, Chris’s dream took flight on Pump FM 99.3 – Australia’s first Hip Hop & RnB community radio station – co-hosting with Mista-C. The station’s evolution into Dance FM 94.5 sparked a wave of genre fusion, and Chris was at the forefront, curating soundscapes every Monday and Tuesday night. Later that year, he joined DJ-FM 87.6FM Sydney CBD and Inner City, a 24/7 Dance Radio Station by Roberts Media Group. Here, Chris programmed and hosted prime-time shows alongside legendary DJs like Frank Chiment, Joe Avati, Susie Stapleton, and Rob Brizzi. Supported by brands such as Central Station Records, Telstra, SBA Music (Pulse), Noizenet, and Carlton & United, DJ-FM’s vibrant culture helped cement Chris’s reputation. 🌅 Groove FM Legacy Between October 1999 and January 2001, Chris hosted weekday breakfast shows on Groove FM 96.9FM (Sydney), Groove FM 94.5FM (Sydney), and Groove FM 97.3FM (Brisbane). In collaboration with Darren Leigh, Mike Scott, and Fabrizio Vilardo, he also played a key role in programming the stations.
