When I went through divorce after a 16 year marriage, I was devastated, depressed and angry. My ex-wife (unnecessarily) initiated litigation that lasted 3.5 years and cost hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees.  It took me months, if not years, to fully recover, both emotionally and financially.
