Speaker 1 (00:03):
What would you talk about on your on your podcast
Firm Elvis Presents Morning Show? Sorry, what are you doing?
I wanted to be first on this one too. That's
the wrong podcast. Sorry, hey, it's uh the fifteen minute
(00:23):
morning show. Exactly what became a tough guy today? All
of a sudden, like he's like, I'm gonna be a
tough guy. I'm scary like that. There's some people that
don't listen to the Brooklyn Boys podcast, and none of
us here in this room was what are we talking
about today? Uh, well, we were talking about so a
(00:46):
couple of days ago, Scary said something in the room
and I agreed with him, And then today he said
something in the room and I agree with him. Last
week Scary said he doesn't get carpool karaoke, doesn't understand
why people get to make such a big deal about it,
and I agree with him. I've been saying, okay, I've
been internalizing it for a year and a half. Well,
I finally had I worked up the courage to bring
it out to the public because I just because people
(01:08):
if you say that you hate it and it's uh,
it's wildly popular, they start shitting on you like Danielle
did that one day. Well, I want to say that
I went back and I watched a couple of episodes
because you you definitely parked my interest when you've never
heard anybody say that they didn't like carpool karaoke, So
you you intrigued me. So I went back and I
watched a couple of episodes. I have to tell you,
(01:28):
I find that you're wrong, okay, And the reason why
you're wrong, I think that he gets so much more
out of the artist, Like when you take the artist
out of their own realm. Like everybody that's a celebrity
that does these talk show circuits like they're used to like,
they're like, okay, no big dealing, they're not nervous. They
come in, they sit down their chair. You know the
(01:50):
nighttime host is gonna throw them out a couple of
a couple of questions. So you did this? What was
your inspiration? You're gonna be on the road next week.
Oh you're playing in this concert? Like they got out
of down it's easy. But carpool karaoke takes the person
out of their norm, puts them into a different setting,
into a car and they drive around in real neighborhoods
(02:11):
and they actually have fun, Like he got so much
out of Pink that like nobody else is getting out
of Pink sing what he's saying. Plus there's nothing. You
also get the artist singing many more of their songs
than just one song. She's saying. She sang her own music,
she saw music. That That was my point that we
talked about on our podcast, is that you you got
(02:31):
pink to sink pink? You want to impress me, have
Pink sing Metallica that you know, I understand it, but
like if it's necessary, wasted my time having Pink sink pink?
But what is that necessary my time? I'm talking about
my time. What I'm saying is how is it a
waste of your time? It's it's because I see Pink
all the time. She's not in a produced studio singing
(02:52):
like she's lip sinking to her own music in the car.
You know what I'm saying. Why I sing the pink
in the car? Nobody films My biggest person for that,
My biggest problem with it is that it's not funny
or creative, not creative. Absolutely, How is it creative? Do
they write to write comedy for it is it funny.
(03:13):
At first they never watched it, and they went to
the park and they got on They got one of
those loop that those things upside down in the park
about episodes. It is funny. They tell jokes, they get
things out of the st that nobody else will. They
give secrets that you would never know. They give little tidbits,
a little funny tidbits. I didn't know the jolly for
(03:33):
tone took pink out on a date to friendlies. I
had no idea, and nobody's been talking about that. That
just came. It came out. Could have done that on
the couch, though, I don't need to see when it's
in a car, right, But that's the thing today I are,
aren't you guys tired of the same old interviews, But
now I'm tired of carpool cary something somebody somebody likes
(03:55):
it because it's making this is the country, this country
of three fifty million people. You could put make poop
soup and a hundred million people will like it. That
you can't say, well, a lot of people like it.
I'm just saying screed and I don't like it. That's
I just want to hear. And this is exactly why
I held it in for so long because of I
feel bad. I think it's one of the most creative
(04:16):
and a long time. It was four years ago. A
little different every time because he has a different person, right,
and they don't really sing their songs. Sometimes you will
get a pink to sing Metallica. I want to see
Taylor Swift thing Katie Perry want to hilarious. It would
be funny to see Taylor Swift singing bish bit reversal effortune.
(04:38):
Now you're talking that's ironic. I'm not saying meet sing
Drake Drake songs. I'd be into it. Meet Mills as well.
Here's what I was thinking after Okay, so again I'm
not ripping on your sc everything title. Come, I'm really not.
I'm really not, And I think I applaud you for
taking the stance of being like the only man out
(05:00):
said they don't like what exactly what am I? I
don't know if I'm wrong. I'm sorry. I didn't. You
literally said you didn't like it, hates it. I don't
just I don't. You go against the grain of what
everyone loves and you you come out with it. Okay,
(05:22):
but then everybody just jumps on you for That's how
I don't you didn't do that here, but that's how
I felt. What was that movie that not Wars? I
can't stand No, that movie that came out a couple
of years ago that everyone thought was the best movie. No,
the Guys who Went Out with the Bachelor Party, and
(05:44):
I thought that was the but but I couldn't say
it because I felt the same way. I felt like
my Sheldon and I both hated it. So Sheldon and
I are sitting at home watching this movie and I said, um,
is it is it? Me? He goes, no, this is stupid,
And I said, but don't say anything because everyone will
(06:04):
verticule you because everyone thinks this is the best things
in Slice Frost. So I didn't say a word. That's
what I'm talking. I'm gonna I'm gonna green with Danielle.
I did not think to Hangover was so great. I
thought I thought it was a series of stupid events. Yes,
and it was like listen, I just I felt it
was like, Okay, they're drunk. It was the babies in
(06:28):
the closet that was not it was stupid. Yeah, I'm
the naked. Then I had to say that was a
funny twenty second. I thought The Hangover was hysterical. I
like smater comedy. I'm sorry, yeah, I just I was like,
I thought I missed something, honestly, Like, I'm like, I
must maybe I should go the same thing with La
(06:50):
La La Land. I love musicals and I love stuff
like that. I was the best movie I've ever seen
by maybe, second to to top Gun Guns, one of
my favorites of all. Yeah, absolutely the second top. I
(07:11):
mean La La Land was super specific. You know, I
think I might have to go back and rewatch it
because I think I missed something. Oh, don't rewatch. We
didn't like it a story, Jake, What was the one
thing that you've been afraid to admit that you didn't
like because everybody else loved it? Harry Potter. Oh, I'm
(07:31):
still waiting for my Harry Potter movies or epic. I
don't know, you guys epic there with Harry because everybody
everybody read the books. Like when I was growing up,
it's like everyone in elementary school, Well, you're older than me.
I'm not saying you're older. Still read the books, yeah,
but wow, they're that books have been around a long
little Man. But I don't know. I just never got
(07:53):
into them that and I never watched Star Wars. I've
never seen a single dead to me, Harry Potter Star Wars.
I feel like everybody ships on me because I've never
seen you know what, Okay, what are you into, Jake,
because you're not into anything good? But they're doing you see,
you're all doing that to Jake right now at the
story you look at scary the defend of everybody. Hey, scary.
I own an Android phone? Yeah, on it, because like
(08:14):
that's what you want to do phone? I mean at
this point, I mean, I don't understand the point. I
don't think the point is that Android phones outsell iPhones
for the last four years. This true in America right, No,
not here. It's like carrying It's like having a PC, Like, like,
what are you doing a PC computer? I have no
idea the reasoning. I don't get it. I products, what
(08:38):
are you doing? You're you're gonna buy what everybody else
bud because it's easy, But what do you for real?
Like what are you get? You're you're forcing like that
really a better phone, but having the Android you're like
trying to force Now you know what you know what
having an Android is. Having an Android is being in
a club where you know you've got a great thing
and you feel bad for the rest of the world.
But iPhone is easy. Why do you want to think
(09:00):
about because my brain can calculate things that aren't easy.
I don't buy things the time. I think everybody in
this room false by for having it. In what's into
I hate everything. I think his phone is awesome. I
love Brodie's phone and I would love to have it,
But for me, it's just easier because I have so
(09:22):
many Apple products. Are we're talking about Android again? In
I know exactly what we're talking about. What do you
want to sit there and be like like, damn, my
phone is not working and you got Apple iPhone. It
just doesn't. You can put everything where does my phone
not work? Group checks? Check see it he was an iPhone?
You go, you go, you put it down, you go.
I don't know, call somebody. He just doesn't know it
(09:43):
just doesn't android phone. Have to crank it off to
put batteries in at it. I know exactly what you're
talking about. I mean, the only one bad thing about
Brodie's phone is the group text because if we don't
text you you go how come you you didn't include us?
But if we do text, you take me off the
text you text me at three in the morning, put
(10:04):
me in a set like we need a separate text
individual That's the only bad thing about Brody's my phone
group texts Fine, I get you do, but we don't
we get separate text Maybe you should buy Android phones.
That's not my fault. If Jake doesn't like Star Wars,
doesn't like Harry Potter, do you like the like the
Marvel movies? What do you like? Jake? I gotta be honestly,
(10:26):
Marvel is so se DC Comics, Basic Comics is so much.
That's why every DC films a flop. He's right there, Befle.
Chris Hemsworth will always be number two, d C will
always number not based on sales. I phone number one,
number two. Actually, j what are you like wrong? I
(10:51):
like I feel like I'm not super passionate about one thing,
Like I'm not like Harry Potter. I love Harry Potter.
I like a wide variety something aries that you like
or people, musical TV see I'm very into TV shows
like Breaking Bad, all time favorite TV show like by
far alright, great, that was on ten years something now
(11:14):
is already seen. What do you want to be scared for? Why?
Why scare yourself scared? Because I try? You try to
make your watch Sons of the Anarchy that thing was
that was freaking out. You're yelling at Jake for scaring
yourself when you sit home and watch Watch Us Cry
or whatever that show. Why why would you Cause it's
(11:36):
too easy to go, Oh, it's say I'm gonna cry.
It's it takes time to actually think about it and
go there's artwork in being sad. There is something precious
in being sad, and that's what nobody can defense. You're
saying all the time, it doesn't take that much else
and beauty in being We were talking about giving examples
of things that you that you hate secretly. You're afraid people,
(11:58):
dog pole you exact. I would say Star Wars. Yeah,
I feel like that's that's more often than not finding
Star Wars number one, Star Trek number two, it is,
there's always a number two matter android number taking pictures
of what's going on, Daniels take itself behind the scenes.
What do you think you are? That's terrible? Elvis Duran
(12:21):
number one. Scury over here for the podcast number two.
It is at least you made it your number two
number level. You hate Elvis Duran's secretly and your number
one Elvis number one. Oh boy, this is where he
digs you already like things that you perceived to be
number one in realities number one every TV show except
that this is us you first MLB Baseball number two.
(12:46):
I can't hear anything. Would noise is everyone talks over Danielle.
Do you have games ratings? Do you feel like you're
actually I have a question for Danielle. Do you feel
like you're actually able to multitask? Yeah, because for example,
when I'm texting somebody right and somebody's trying to have
a conversation with me, I have no idea what they're saying,
Like I hear it, but it just goes right through
my head. Called being a guy. I know everyone says
(13:07):
that women can do this, You legitimately feel like you can.
You can text and have a conversation with the same time.
Jake differently, there are seven their brains are like a
seven lane highway. Hours is a one lane dirt road.
There was there was a great great Broadway show it's
off for many years now. Rob Becker defending the Caveman,
and he explained that men were wired to be hunters,
(13:31):
focus on the animal, hunt the animals, stare down the animal, animal, animal, animal,
the one animal. Where women would gatherers, they would go
and look around for berries. They look around all over
the looking everywhere. And then he made an analogy that
that's the same in the mall. Most men, not all men.
I know you're listening, goes, don't Most men they say,
I gotta go to the mall in the blue jacket.
They go to the mall, they get the blue jacket.
They leave. Women they go just the shop shop, and
(13:53):
they got every store they look at, they touch every day,
and they gather. They're gathering. That's why when women voted
Target or swim and go to Target, you leave with
seventeen more things than you. Actually you can leave Target
with the thing you just parched. I went to Target
you the day for two things, walked out with two things.
But he never could never Here's the thing what Jake said.
This is why when I'm watching television, the other people
(14:16):
in my house can talk to me, I don't hear
them because I'm focused on the TV, not because the
TV is more important than they are. I just un
locked in the same thing with me that I'm this way.
As guys, we are wired this way. That's how I
know I really like a show if I put my
phone down and like actually watch it, because I can't
focus on the show and what's going on my phone
at the same time. I can watch a show, do
(14:36):
laundry and cooked in er at the same time. Concentrationift
minute morning show
