about on your on your podcast? Firm represents show. I

(01:15):
always feel like ship this time of year. Why you look?
You look? You can start out with a curse, Kathleen
makes me feel like garbage. Yeah, okay, okay, what were
you trying to do? All I'm trying to do is
make a short video about our gear. Talk to everybody
about the amazing things that happened to them this year,
the happy moments. Maybe they're not so happy moments. You

(01:35):
didn't say that. You skipped over to me like you're
Dorothy going on the ele brick road. You're like you
had like little birds chirping around your shoulders, like normal
little bluebirds. And she's like, oh, Brody, can I ask
you a question? Like you know what that right away?
That was her, just my phone in your face and okay,
she's writing, I'm recording what was your favorite moment of seventeen?
That's how a reporter needs to do it. I came up.

(01:57):
I'm pretty quick. No no, no, no no no, because you
know what she does, Because what it does is it
forces you to reflect. And then I'm thinking, and now
there are thirty seconds, and then there are three minutes,
and now they have five minutes. I'm standing there like,
holy sh it. Nothing good happen this year? Was seeing
great tea naked? That was it was is not a
leap here. So it's one day shorter than it could

(02:17):
have been. It's been a terrible year. I try to
work with you guys. So like Bertie, I said, Bertie,
you have a good no, I said, okay, well, maybe
what about your best memory? There were none? What about
your worst memory? I need a minute. The problem with
these retrospectives and looking backs and flashbacks and nostalgia moments

(02:38):
is it forces you to think, and if you don't
come up with those great moments, you then start feeling worse.
Did it one good thing happened to you this year?
So you're saying you led a shitty It was just mundane.
It was just it was not not a single single
thing happened to you that you were like, that is
pretty cool. Hold on, I gotta travel a lot. I did.

(03:01):
I didn't go any place new. We lost forty pounds
in the beginning of the year, thank you. Dr Fat
lost hashtag a client. So yeah, but I don't know
what to do then, I don't know what to say.
I mean, is going to be your year? Scary? Everybody
says that it's always his year. At the beginning of
the year, New Year, knew you. Everyone says, but why

(03:22):
but think about this for a second. Why that First
of all, Brody, yeah, you're like, you're not even pay attention.
Yes I am, go ahead, now you look at your phone.
It's important. Scary, go on, Okay, I'll go on. Cheez.
We usually felt like this on the Brooken Boys podcast,
but not here. What I wanted to say was I
think that every one of us have those moments in
us that that just not coming out. You know. Yeah,

(03:44):
great things happened, but there was nothing. There was no monument,
there was no milestone. There was no life moment that
was like your brother got married. That was that was
last year, and that was grief because his parents want
to know when he's getting married. It wasn't even joyous. Okay,
think I can. I can think of ten amazing things
that happened to me. And why you both of you,

(04:08):
Brody and Scary. There's not a single thing that happened
in your life, even outside of work. You guys, we're
talking about you guys. You guys went to great met
games that we're on national TV was beyond you did
this year? He did. I guess my baseball team. My

(04:29):
football team sucked. Uh. My life on Twitter has been
awful since. Oh, I don't know about a year ago.
We launched the podcast. Oh yeah, Scary Night launched a
great podcast. Apparently it's a shitty one because you couldn't
think of it. No, it's a great podcast. But that's
something that we did. It's it's fun. How about this.
Twitter doesn't direct how your give at night? Snapchat? According

(04:50):
to maybe two will be your sports as we talk,
go through your phone right now, you have at least
a year's worth of pictures on your phone. There has
to be one moment in those pictures that you can
come up with. You have good sex in two thousand seventeen,
like I said, only Saturdays, Only on Saturdays, Sunday. I

(05:11):
got a cat. I celebrated my five year wedding anniversary.
My father graduated from the Naval post Graduate School in California.
I mean, I can go on and on and on.
My sister in law is having a baby, and I
got two cats. My my niece was born, my sister
is about to pop with the baby. Let's say my

(05:34):
pool heater broke. I had to spend three thousand dollars
to chop down my favorite tree on my property. You
have three beautiful children and a beautiful wife, and a
house and food in your belly. I got my boots reduced.
That's right. That also was the bane of my existence.
Although I feel like they're getting the knife in my heart.
I got a new car that's scary, had some great cheese.

(05:57):
I'm still looking through my pictures during my new car
got rear ended last week, all the way back to August.
By the way, I'm still scrolling backwards. Garrett, did in
your car get hey yesterday? Yes? Yeah, so f f Kathleen.
That's what I'm saying. But that's I'm okay with it.
Like I'm like, okay, give me fixed. But it's like
my years screwed. But I mean, it wasn't an awful year.

(06:18):
It was just status quo. I got stuck on the
side of the road like a couple of weeks back
for five hours, waiting for Triple A to come and
get me, and in my head, I don't like you, Garrett.
I'm like, what am I gonna do? Yeah, I'm safe nothing,
but what am I gonna do? What is what it is?
What Dicabo San Lucas for the first time, and what happened?
We run into a hurricane. So that's not a highlight.

(06:41):
What else? What Greg tea in here, he'll be positive.
I invested in California property that didn't go well and
bitcoin bitcoin would have done really well. Yeah, bitcoin would
have done very well. What the hell is bitcoin money?
That morning? I'll explain after there's not enough time. You
ever go to Chuck E Cheese and get those coins?
Did you see the story the guy who sold Chuck
e Cheese tokens for a million million dollars? Someone into

(07:04):
thinking of a bitcoins? Really I have a friend who
had a boss, probably almost ten years ago, and his
boss was like, yo, dude, you have to get it
on this. You have to buy this thing called bitcoins.
And he's like, whatever, I'll spend a hundred dollars on it.
He forgot about it for almost ten years. He opened
up his bitcoin account and inside was fourteen thousand dollars

(07:26):
from a hundred dollars ten years and it's awesome still looking.
You guys are such grunches. You know your girlfriend is
going to be thrilled. You can't find one good damn
great moments with her too. I just nothing that stands out.
But you're that guy every year. I didn't have a
good year. But you know you're not listening to what
I'm saying. I'm not saying to have a good year.

(07:46):
I didn't have a standout year because everything had an
average year. So every remember my water heater broke that
cost and you almost died in Mexico. Oh yeah, And
I went to Mexico and ended up in the hospital
and I almost needed a blood transfusion. Yeah, so Viva
on Mexico. Continue back next year. I never. I'm never.

(08:10):
I'm all the way back in April right by the way, Guys,
the thing is, every year I have is is good,
is good. So it's like, how do you top the
last year if you've been having a series of great years.
But if you can't figure out what was good this year,
then it was a wasting year. I had to have
risk surgery again because the first surgery didn't work. Right. Oh,
I went ice skating in Central Park and it was magical.

(08:32):
I'm looking I got Oh. I went to go see
you where Elvis Presley used to record in Nashville. Oh,
I climbed the Grand Canyon with Bethany and Sam Well.
I gotta sinus infection. Okay, what else? I don't know.
It's funny. Everyone's going to his star right that trip out, Well,

(08:56):
it's California. That was amazing. You got to see the
Hollywood s for the first time. That was in October
of last year, wasn't it. Anyway? I developed a tendon
disease in my ankle. I reconstructive surgery. No, it was
this year whatever whatever. We got to witness and attend
Hollywood Star event. That is really incredible and the weather

(09:17):
was good, that's right. Yeah. And as someone who's not
a member of our show jumped in front of me
in the picture. No, technically they are a member of
our show, but they still shouldn't have jumped. Damn right,
damn right. I'm all the way back and oh this
is not good. I'm back in March now. I went
to Napa. I had a lot of delicious wine that
was good to great. Yeah, win too. Maybe I better
think about being more creative. Yeah, outside of going to

(09:41):
your same four vacation spots. Gary's top five moments in
two thousand and seventeen. Drinks in the pool, drinks in
the pool at the same spot I've been for the
last ten years. Scary. You should really what did you
You were thinking about going somewhere over New Years? To Singapore? Yeah?
You should go? What he is holding you back? He's
going to Ernies you are No, He's going to Atlantis

(10:04):
in Vegas. No, I'm not. He's going to Okay, guys,
I'm done. I'm done looking through pictures because I'm now
back in back in December already, I went through all
my pictures. Maybe this is a wake up call for
you that you post too many photos of just mediocritas
on Instagram. Wow, maybe I should get a life. Yeah,
I think so you should go. You should take your

(10:25):
girlfriend to Italy this year. I should write you should
she should take you? I would not take her him Italy.
I have an itinerary that I said she should take
him on a vacation. Things are going to go through
our head. He plans everything. She should pick the place.
I'm only saying that because then you'll go someplace completely different.

(10:48):
If she picks the place, you have no, could you
do that? Could could you let her? Well? Of course
he's paying for Could you let hard? Decide everything, plan everything,
and just go along with it. Go with the flow,
not plan anything. No, I'd like to know where I'm going. Yeah,
he couldn't do it. I'm a bit of a control freak.
He couldn't do it, which is why you end up
on the same islands and the same beaches. Let her

(11:08):
pick the vacation. Oh shaking, he's shaking. I thought of
another good moment I had this year. I went to
the New York Philharmonic and the orchestra played along with
the soundtrack to Breakfast at Tiffany. That's cool. That was
very cool to see what we're all drowning and misery.
Kathleen comes up with another great moment. She had my

(11:30):
Podietres said, my feet is so bad, she can get
me handicap parking. I'm texting. I'm texting scary scaries girlfriend.
I got a cat. You ever listed in your phone
as scariest girlfriends? It's listed as run Robin Run. Yeah,
that's true. Here's here's a good thing to happen to me. Ready,

(11:52):
I got the iPhone? Oh you did get it? You
wanted it from Elvis? And how has it changed your life?
In the nine It hasn't right. There was no nine
whatever due eight eight eight. Even with that new iPhone,
you haven't posted any memorable moments that's your life this year.
I know I'm a waste. You're not a waste. I'm
feeling better about myself scary things. I think that if

(12:15):
we asked you this question six months ago and you
only had to evaluate six months of the year, your
answers might have been different. Both of you, guys. Danielle
got to go on the field that Yankee Stadium hang
out with Aaron Judge. My kid got handed an Aaron
a ball from Aaron Judge. That was This changed my
eyelights on my See. None of those moments happened this
year for me. I mean, I'm not offended. Offended debt

(12:38):
what you guys, Someone's phones making noise, all right, he's
texting your girlfriend to I'm sending her pictures all right?
So what what did have miserable years? All I heard
was it wasn't miserable. It was just not outrageous. You
guys started a podcast, that's it seems like that's not

(13:00):
for one. Will says, one of the most listen to
podcasts in the Elvis Ran group. Right underneath the Choire
Chase podcast. Yeah, give us another month. We don't send
cards out to our listeners. Next year, Greg, did are
going to start podcast? Oh? Yeah, yeah, I think we
are supposed to be coming. Was going to be the
year you said two was gonna been, was going to

(13:21):
be the year we created the idea of doing a podcast.
In fairness, they already have a logo they do and
a name next, but that's all they have. Will think
about recording. You were talking this morning about having backup
gifts though, and this is something we're gonna bring up
on the show, and I think we're gonna do it tomorrow. Yeah.
I was listening to the podcast um that Gia does

(13:42):
with Uma used to be an intern year, different wife.
They do their podcast called The Case. Why would our
former interne be doing a podcast with why or not Street?
I don't know anyway, So they do a podcast together,
it's called The Easy Crew, and they were talking about

(14:02):
how they have She has backup gifts. So she said
she has five gifts, like if someone comes over and
gives her a gift, she always has something on reserve
that she could give guys or girls just in case
they give her something champagne. So yeah, so she says
she and I thought about that. I'm like that I
don't have that, But that's probably a very good idea.
I have five things to say that I don't have
a gift when I get a gift, so I sound like, oh,

(14:25):
you didn't have to, Oh you shouldn't have really, No,
that's just too nice like things like that. Yeah, but
I mean, but the backup gifts is a very good
idea because don't you feel stupid when somebody gives you
something and you didn't expect it and then you're like, oh, ship, Nope,
I'm going to see a friend today and I'm like
hoping that he didn't get me anything because I don't

(14:45):
have anything grand. So this is what you do. You
get something and you put in the car, and then
if he handles something, oh my gosh, I forgot yours
in the car, and then she could have very well
left it in his name on the car and already
like on the thing. No, I think this is the
best idea in the world, by the way, I would
know it back. You don't have a bunch of backup cards.
I have backup greeting cards. So if I write so

(15:07):
you're gonna run in the back and write my name
on a card quickly and hand it to me. No,
I have him at home. I'm ready to go. I'm
not even kidding. I buy several. They all say the
same thing with the same picture. You should all sign
them love scary and then in the car quick you
right in the person's saying about to see you. It's
it's not a bad idea of holiday cards. Yeah, greeting cards.
If somebody gives me a gift, at least have a
card back. Do you send out great? You don't even

(15:28):
send out cards only you know when I sometimes they
pictures of his family, just him, he sends he's been
with Robin long enough where they can send it. They can.
That's commitment. You don't live together. I just don't really
send pictures. I don't send greeting cards out. I don't
send pictures. Oh my god, if you asked Robin to
movement with you for two it would make it. Yeah,

(15:53):
show us how you're committed. I've committed. Back in the studio,
