Speaker 1 (00:00):
M What would you talk about on your on your
podcast phone? What it is? Garrett Sam? Hopefully she is

(00:27):
not deaf, because she just plugged her headphones into into
the microphone and someone had it turned up obnoxiously loud.
What is wrong with people here? Are you deaf? Are
you okay? Only in my good ear, your face said
it all when you plugged in your headphones and you
made that like eyes popping out of your head. I

(00:51):
cannot say any word because the microphone is on, because
it's one of those techniques that you're trained in radio.
When the mics are on, you don't want to be
talking over the intro. I feel like if we were
ever kidnapped in a situation where we had to make
a lot of noise, we would be at a disadvantage
because we're trained to silently suffer. Well, yeah, it's it's
when the microphones go on and you're not talking. It's
as if you're living in the movie a quiet place.

(01:13):
So you you try to communicate, but you know you
can't communicate properly because the microphones are on. Now all
I'm missing is John Krasinski. So I was trying to
tell I was trying to tell Sam, hey, plug your
headphones in somewhere else. She interpreted as move move microphones
down a few where. Then I then had to take
the microphone pantomimes and move it over. But now we're here.

(01:37):
Sam is here, Garrett, everyone else. I ship them out
to Seattle. I said, get out of here, don't come
back until you christen a ship. So the rest of
the show is out in Seattle for their christening of
the Norwegian Bliss. And I'm still really like bummed out
we don't get to see that. I so want to

(01:58):
see that, you know what. And I was thinking about
that over over the weekend too as everyone was out
in l A. You were you got to hang out
in l A this weekend and uh, and I want
you to tell everybody about how your experience was being
out on the ship. But thinking about it, and I
think this goes to anyone listening to that there are
things in life that you know it be uh, it'ld

(02:20):
be awesome if you were there, but it's one of
those things that you realize and you go. It just
adds to my story of Hey, one day I will
be you know, the shoe will be on the other
foot and I will be at christening of a ship
or something of that nature, and someone will be you know,
back behind the studios, you know what I mean? So
like one day like us, by not going I think

(02:41):
down the road will help us and become a better
person first off, and make things that much greater when
they happen to us. I'm okay with being a shitty person.
I just want to don't be a shitty person because
then it then it just equals out. Then you won't
be able to and you won't appreciate it as much
as as if you were to. Garrett, I I don't

(03:01):
know if I'm picking it up because I'm bitter, but
I like what you're putting down, you know what I mean.
I think you just got to look at the positive
of the situation, because it's easy to have that fomo
experience of sitting there and going through everyone's Instagram story
and feed and and say, wow, look what they're looking
They're doing this now. It's really I'm good with the
bright side. It's actually strong. Yeah, you are the Annie

(03:25):
and your son always comes out tomorrow. But but no,
but you know, our grapes though I can't help, but
you did get to fly out to l A, Los
Angeles over last weekend and got to hang out with
a few of our friends, old and new on the
Norwegian Bliss And how was it? Oh my god, it
was unfreaking believable because it's kind of heartwarming on like

(03:46):
a sentimental side to see all of your like different generations,
and I say generations by just people who have worked
for different lengths of time to see everybody kind of
talk and exchange things about what they've learned and where
they are professionally. And I've been around for a while,
I mean not as long as almost everyone else, but
it's been about since I started interning, over six years.

(04:06):
So it was fun. I was proud watching people, you know,
have different discussions and seeing how everyone else evolved. So
you're on the ship, I mean with everyone from the
Morning show practically, and uh we're there bloggers and those
food like food bloggers and cruise bloggers. I think so,
but bloggers, it might have been. No one was as
friendly as we were, so it was hard to make

(04:28):
other friends because we just kind of we scared. Was
everybody like judging every little thing as you were walking
around and they're on their phones and taking pictures and
very probably, but I was too drunk to notice after
a certain point. But I think so I'm gonna have
full I'm gonna take a page out of your bo Garrett.
I'm gonna have full not being there this weekend because

(04:48):
I kind of accidentally a little bit fell in love
with the guy who plays Frankie Valley. Now that's an
issue because I have a boyfriend. Because you're the show
Jersey Boys is on the Norwegian bl says we discussed,
but you fell in love with the lead character. As
you know what, as a casting director, I would say,
great job to him or her because they casted someone

(05:10):
you fell in love with. So now you remember Frankie Valley.
But the problem is if you truly fell in love
with him, what is his real name? Uh? Christian, Christian,
Christians something with an L. There you go, So you
really don't love him, you love the character he played,
you do not love him? Are you saving me from myself?

(05:32):
Right now? Again? I appreciate it because look at it.
You love the fact that he was on stage owning it,
putting on a spectacular performance. But yet you cannot tell
me his full name where he's from? An aside from
from Queens. He's from Queens, York and uh he went
to school for a musical theater. Okay, so you're almost

(05:54):
at that first date stage. I'm almost at a first
date stage. And what else did we talk about? Okay?
So wait, just to paint a picture. I went to
see the show when we all went as a family
the first time a few weeks ago, and then I
wanted to see the show again, so I I went back,
did you want to see the show again? Or did
you want to see Frankie Valley again? At that point,
I just wanted to see the show again. But I

(06:15):
was a little tipsy, and I knew the show a
little bit better, and I was singing along the second time.
And then I drunk texted our girl who hooks us
up on Bliss, and I said, hey, I don't really
want to meet the cast, can you do that? You
had a drunk voice as you texted. That's yeah, I
say things loud as I text, and she came through

(06:37):
the next morning. I woke up completely forgot that I
texted her in the first place, and she said, Hey,
four o'clock in the lobby, the Jersey Boys cast is
gonna be there. We're gonna get drinks freaked out, And
then when I met them all in person, That's when
I'm like, oh no, I'm smitten, kitten. I can't help it.
I'm a sucker for guys to sing show tunes. I'm
a musical theater girl myself. Did you did you? Dake?

(07:00):
Is that that we're in? Show? That me of my
first love? The dinner? Um? And he does dinner? Who
was your first love in high school? And what what
show did he performance? He was the one who um
later dated Donna Missile Superstar? Yeah? Yeah, yeah? And do
you remember what he was that? We were in a

(07:21):
bunch of shows together. He was the lead of bat Boy,
who was the lead, and kiss Me Kate? He did
like an ensemble thing in Greece. It was the last
show you participated in high school? The last show I
did in high school was West Side Story, West Side Story. Yeah,
I did my fair lady. I didn't know you were
in musical, Oh yeah I was. I was in I
was in musicals ever since I was in like seventh

(07:42):
eighth grade. I thought it was super cool. Wait a minute,
I grew I grew up in the theater. My mom
and dad always took me to Broadway shows and I
started doing uh you know, grammar school shows. My first
show I ever auditioned for was Snow White and the
Seven Dwarfs. Didn't get the part in fourth grade, but
then kept on doing uh the yearly shows with the

(08:03):
entire uh parish. Because I went to a Catholic school. UM,
and I did. I did. I was in Annie UM.
I played the ventriloquist in the in the radio scene
when Daddy Warbucks comes to announce that you know, there's
uh you know looking for her parents reward, UM, I

(08:27):
played that, and then in high school I played uh,
my fair Lady. My Fair Lady story is very interesting
in the fact that I went to an all boys school,
I auditioned at the Old Girls School from My Fair Lady,
Me and about like thirty five other guys. We all
got parts because they were desperate from times they needed
men in My Fair Lady. Problem is, a month before

(08:48):
the show, all the guys started dropping like flies, not
because they were sick, just because they realized they didn't
want to do a musical. So I became. I became
that extra that I was in every scene, playing a
different part. So at one point I was a waiter.
Than another part I was I was a bartender, another part,

(09:08):
I was like a guy in the courtyard. Another another
part I was like, uh, I was like some type
of engineer. I think it was just prepping you for
this job, of course, and describes my personality if we
not bonds it on this before. I'm a musical theater
nerd to a specialty high school. I didn't know you
went what kind of specialty high school just for theater?
What high school? It was? F pack? How will high

(09:31):
school find performing arts center? And in the fine state
of New Jersey and the fine state of New Jersey?
So what was so growing up? Did you want to
do theater? Is that your was that you're like goal?
My mine was to play for the New York Knicks.
But we both felt just a little bit shy I
still have a chance and considering how crappy they are.
But um, so you want to do theater? What was
that show for you where you were like, you know what,

(09:53):
this is what I want to do with life. Um
I went to see the high school that I ended
up later on auditioning for I to see their performance
of Chicago and it was the actual thing where people
are throwing roses up on stage at the end because
it was so good. And the reason I went was
because it was in the local paper. How it was
sold out and breaking all these records. How how how

(10:14):
old were you when you saw Chicago? I must have
been eleven or that's mess like Chicago for an eleven
year old prostitutes? Well, it was high school play. He
went to do it. It It was a high school thing,
and they were so good. That's one of those situations
where if you look at him, like if you did
Chicago now, there's no way people would be okay with it,
you know what I mean? I think not. I I

(10:37):
honestly think so describes my messed up mind. Though it
all makes sense, it does. And the fact that you
fell in love with Frankie Valley even though you have
a boyfriend so good? Is it a celebrity crush though? Safe?
I guess it's a celebrity crush? But did you have
the will to tell your boyfriend will? Yeah? And my
personal trainer? Oh yeah, oh yeah, your personal Yes, I

(10:58):
did tell him. I said I fell in all okay,
so so, but I think he's okay in the fact,
knowing that your Frankie Valley is on a on a
ship and not on land. If it was on land,
there would be some follow up questions I would have, like,
so you're going to see him again? What happens if
his tour uns out and he comes back and we connect?

(11:19):
If you leave Will for Frankie Valley? No, but maybe
we could get a tri urge. I wouldn't put it,
you know, I wouldn't put it past No. I think
I don't know Frankie Valley that well, but I think
he would be maybe. So you're saying, if you had
the opportunity to have a three way with your boy
your current boyfriend Will and hopefully your permanent boyfriend Will

(11:41):
and Frankie Valley, you would actually bring it up. You
would be the one to say, hey, hey, Will, would
you be okay if we had a three way with
Frankie Valley? I would bring it up. But I also
know would you bring it up in the joking factor?
Would you bring it up like, hey, can we turn
this into a serious conversation? Even if it got into
a serious conversation, There's no way I wouldn't be giggle
in the entire way through, of course, because I have

(12:03):
friends that I have one friend who's had three sons before,
and I'm always curious, how do you bring up that conversation?
Not that I want to like, not that I want
to get into the three way game, but just I
figure it has to be so awkward where you're sitting there.
Does he have a perma partner? Oh yeah, no, he
has a He has a he has a girlfriend and

(12:24):
they and it's their thing. But still that first initial conversation,
you know, the first time. Go back to the first
time you and your significant another, are you and anybody
else ever you know, talked about or try to flirt
to turn it into sex. Imagine that times three of
trying to have in a three way. How awkward you

(12:45):
can only think tweet us, tweet us at Elvis Dean Show,
and uh, Sam, which or what's your Twitter? Sam? Underscore, Rosalie,
there you go and at Garbo. Let us know if
you've ever had that awkward conversation or maybe even a
fail of asking, Hey, would you be down for a
three way and how did you do it? But I

(13:05):
was proposition for a three way early, but no one
they didn't straight up ask. So when you were single?
When I was single. I was at a bar and
I thought, I was, do you know I'm overly friendly?
It's a problem, it is disease. And I was talking
to this these two people at the bar, which I
didn't realize they were a couple until they started getting
a little handsy with each other. And then their regular

(13:27):
questions to me started becoming a little more personal, like
what do you do for fun? And then when I
started listing other things, they're like, well, what did you Yeah,
you fell into the trap, and then it turned into
where do you live? And then like she put her
hands on my shoulder and then ask Things were starting
to add up. I'm like, oh my god, I think
they're loosing me up to ask me to be a
part of a three songs no, no pun intended. Yeah,

(13:50):
so so let us know that. I think it's super interesting. Hey,
before we get out of here, we got like a
minute left. So I found this out. Over the weekend
we've been talking about how Amazon Alexa can cord you.
I found out how you can look at stuff that
you've said to Alexa and how they've recorded it. So
you have to have the Amazon Alexa app and once
you do go into settings, once you go into settings,

(14:12):
scroll all the way to the bottom and it says history,
and then the history shows up and then you can play.
You could play stuff. Let's see that you're about to
play a conversation for us. Yes, so that was my
wife Ali. It's not a secret. I want the good stuff.
That was my wife Ali from this morning turning on

(14:34):
our radio show. But uh, and you know, as you know,
Alexa gets triggered by certain words. So if you say hey,
al or all or whatever, it starts recording, so then
it can record conversations. I have the from the first
time I plugged in this this thing into my system,
so it's freaky. I unplug mine because I'm paranoid. So
listen today, let us know if you have any interesting

(14:55):
conversations and send them to us. Yeah, and let me
know if you know Frankie Valley, let's talk freeway. Sam,
thank you very much, will be back tomorrow. Thanks for
