George Michael secretly recorded every instrument while Andrew Ridgely basically jingled some bells. Then the conversation unravels into Danielle’s book obsession, our collective childhood-trauma movies (WHY were they like that?!), Gandhi’s podcast chaos, an unexpectedly healthy serving size of Animal Crackers, and a deer who caused Christmas-store mayhem before being rescued.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's time to go around the room with Elvis Duran
in the Morning Show. Have we gone around the room? Yeah?
We should.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
I'm gonna start with you straight, Nate. Okay, what is
on your mind today? I personally hate this Christmas song?
Can't stand it, but I might now appreciate it knowing
more about it. Oh, tell us the rest of the
story Last Christmas.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Do you know this story from whim? But not really
from wham? Don't know the story from George Michael. From
George Michael. George Michael sang produced and did every instrument
on it. Nobody else did a thing. That other guy
whatever didn't do a damn thing. Really, he performed. He
didn't even know how to play some of the instruments.

(00:45):
He just tapped on the keys on the piano. He
got the bells, he shook the bells, he sang everything. Lookay,
let's listen to it with that filter. The person playing
all the instruments can't play an instrument. Let's see what
this sounds like. Sounds pretty simple. Did everything?

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Wow, did everything.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
The only other people in the studio apparently, were the
recording engineer and some.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Other dude that did nothing.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
The one guy wanted to play the sleigh bells and
Mike George Muggins like, no, I got it.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Wow he did everything on this, saying.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Yes, and now we know the rest of the story.
You know, I never knew that, all right, thank you
for sharing that, lovely.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
So you're saying Andrew Ridgley was like the did nothing.
He's like to Grandpa Joe of Wham.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
No, do you know that he was?

Speaker 5 (01:32):
Oh my god, you guys. He was actually supposed to
be the hot one in Wham originally and then it
wound up getting flipped.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Yeah, there's a whole documentary about it.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Now we know. Danielle round the room to you.

Speaker 5 (01:45):
So you know me, My books are my babies. I'm
obsessed and when I give you a book to borrow,
I get so excited when I get feedback. So I
have been giving my mom all my Freedom McFadden books,
and you know I love Freedom McFadden and Deanna loves
her as well. The Housemaid is coming out in your
movie theaters, I think December eighteenth or nineteenth or something
like that. But if you've never read the Housemaid series,

(02:08):
so she's got the Housemaid, then she's got the Housemaid secret.
And then she's got the Housemaid is watching. These books
are so fantastic and the twists in them are so
great you cannot put them down.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
My mom called me yesterday and she's like, oh my gosh,
I just found out and I can't wait. And she
still doesn't know everything.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
How many are there?

Speaker 4 (02:26):
So I think there's three in the series, if I'm
not mistaken.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
But when she called me yesterday, I was like, Mom, wait,
She's like, what do you mean, Wait, there's more?

Speaker 4 (02:33):
I go, oh, just.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
See when you say weight, you're spoiling.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
Oh, it's good, it's good.

Speaker 5 (02:38):
Okay, So the Housemaid pick it up, goes read the
book before you see the movie. Sorry, movie company, I'm
just saying, because the book's always better.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
Okay, I'm still gonna go see the movie. Okay, that's it.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Producer, same, What about you? What are you going to
ruin for it?

Speaker 5 (02:50):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (02:50):
I might, or I might remind you of something that's
already been ruined. So I was wondering if anyone else
remembered their first childhood trauma movie, because my sisters and
I were talking about this the other day. You do, okay?
Does it say something about you as a grown up?
Because mine was the fox and the hound that messed
me up. The friendship that those two animals had together
and the.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
Story that they went through.

Speaker 6 (03:09):
I could not even handle it as a child, and
now as an adult, Animals like it, suffering in any
way hurt me more than anything else in this world.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
So I'm wondering, do.

Speaker 6 (03:18):
You guys also have like an adult tether to your
first What was yours?

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Elvis?

Speaker 6 (03:21):
Oh my god, that's a bad one.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
You know where I was when I watch that, sitting
in a laundry basket in my basement in the Bronx,
and I remember what happened, and I was hysterical.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
The saddest story ever. Okay, I don't like you now, Yeah,
I know you just triggered.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
A so sorry.

Speaker 7 (03:41):
You're dog obsessed The Land Before Time that it was
about the dinosaurs who are basically trying to make it
to survive. But Littlefoot's mom dies saving his life and
it is the most tragic death ever. It was horrific.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
What are these kids moved do?

Speaker 7 (03:59):
I don't know why they would ever do that to children.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
And don't forget Bambi, Bambi, Oh that was so sad.
Thank you triggering triggering here to uplift you guys. Thank you, Hey,
I gandhi, what's up with you?

Speaker 6 (04:10):
All?

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Right?

Speaker 7 (04:10):
Yesterday dropped a new podcast loss on the sideway your podcasts, Hey,
thank you. Diamond says something very inappropriate that happened to
her at work. I cannot share it on the air
because it's inappropriate and we think one of Andrew's friends could.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Be a serial killer.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
I will leave that there.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Wow.

Speaker 7 (04:24):
But I wanted to give a shout out to Barnums
Animals Crackers, animals.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
Right, there's as on.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
The end, Barnum's Animals crackers.

Speaker 7 (04:33):
So we were all very excited because they're delicious, and
we ate three four. Then I looked at.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Oh here talking to a microphones and oh, hi, hello,
okay is that technique? Go ahead, go ahead.

Speaker 7 (04:43):
We all had about three or four because we thought, oh,
these are so delicious, don't overdo it. I looked at
the serving size. Do you know how many you can
have these? And one serving?

Speaker 1 (04:51):
How many? I don't know?

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Seventeen?

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Wow? No, but what does what does that mean?

Speaker 7 (04:55):
One hundred and forty calories?

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Seventeen of these things? You show?

Speaker 7 (05:00):
Okay, the total fat three point five grams, four percent
and the sugar total sugar seven grams fourteen percent. So
it's not great, but it's not nearly as bad as
we thought, and it was delicious.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Thank you to doctor Kathy for sending us though. I've
been eating animal crackers since the day. They used to
have see the animals on the front.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Yea.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
They used to be in cages with cages in front
of them. Oh yeah, and then one year the cages disappear.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Remember that.

Speaker 5 (05:28):
I do remember that they still come into the little box.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
But I don't think.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Oh, yes, scary, what's going on?

Speaker 8 (05:36):
I feel so bad for this deer who broke into
a Christmas store in Jonesborough, Tennessee Gabriel's Christmas and more.
All of a sudden, the deer went buck wild in
the store, started sniffing ornaments, and then it got its
head stuck in a chair and I we have the
sound of it's screaming over you.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
You gotta hear this. But it's the deer is safe.
You can put the sound of a deer in angst.

Speaker 8 (05:58):
Oh, it's all over the news, but it's it's actually
here's the good. The happy ending is that the police
got the deer's head out of it, and they got
the day, escorted the deer out the door. So after
sniffing ornaments and going crazy and and and knocking over everything,
a good old fashioned Christmas mirror miracle happened where the
deer the deer.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
One the deer was to lead, So there was a
happy ending.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
So unlike you know those movies where the animals didn't
survive that you were talking about earlier, we have we
have a surviving animal.

Speaker 6 (06:30):
Don't make a spin off.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Touched very nice. We love a happy ending
