Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's time to go around the room with Elvis Duran
in the morning show.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Uh, let's go around the room. I want to see
what's on your minds? Yeah, I know that. Well, she's Sam.
What did you have for dinner last night? I keep
asking her?

Speaker 3 (00:14):
How mean?

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Oh that's right, I don't remember it because I just
don't like Chowmaine.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
You set me up, you Sonama bab Anyway.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
What's on your mind today?

Speaker 4 (00:21):
Sam?

Speaker 1 (00:21):
So?

Speaker 3 (00:22):
I want to wish my niece, who has no idea
this is happening because she is only two now, a
very happy birthday. She has changed my life and that
she's made me more fearful of the idea of becoming
a parent because she is so freaking awesome and I
don't think lightning can strike twice genetically in a family.
I was kind of hoping she'd be a terror, so

(00:42):
statistically I might get like these your family. No, she's
the best, and it horrifies me. And I am her
second pick because she prefers my husband William. She loves
Uncle Bill and to me, that makes her a better
judge of character. So, Briella, happy birthday. I love you
so so much.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Ah, that's so sweet.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Adore her.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Look at you.

Speaker 5 (01:00):
It's disgusting.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
It's just gross. It is downright and gross. Hey, Froggy,
what's up with you today?

Speaker 5 (01:06):
So with the vacation, I went to Nashville and saw
my son. Did a little bit of work while I
was there, of course, but then at the same time
got to see him and play a golf course there.
That's a super private golf course. I had no business
being on. I mean, I was completely You didn't embarrass us,
did you.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
I did not.

Speaker 5 (01:21):
I tried not to. I had no business being there.
But it was such a great trip. I enjoyed seeing
him and yet enjoyed the experience at the same time.
And so if you have that chance. Even though I
had things I needed to do, I'm like, put them aside.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
I want to do this. I'm glad I did travel.

Speaker 5 (01:35):
When you can take take the time and enjoy it
because you can't get it back perfect, what about.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
You a scty. Get a load of this I found out.
Hold on, hold on, Is that how you're starting you
around the room?

Speaker 6 (01:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Okay, go ahead, get a load of this. This is crazy.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
I never heard this in my life. A buddy of
mine talk about being selfish. He's got a family, and
in his basement bathroom, he's like, screw everybody, I'm installing it.
You urnal in here. He replaced the toilet with a urinal,
replaced it. He goes, this is my man cave. But
I'm like, first of all, a who has a urinal

(02:10):
in their house? Like we're talking about those professional grade
urinals that you would see in any public bathroom. I'm like,
isn't it a little weird? He goes, No, this is
my domain, my place to hang out with my friends,
and and we all come over and we hang out.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
We played poker, and all we need is a urinal.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
End of story.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
I found it.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
This the most bizarre thing, a urinal in a house.

Speaker 7 (02:33):
I do know someone who has them.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
They have both.

Speaker 7 (02:37):
They have regulator and a urinal in there as well.

Speaker 6 (02:40):
So weird.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
We all know people that have men's and women's rooms
in their houses. A urinal in your house. Nate's right.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
We have a new segment coming up tomorrow called Get
a Load of This, where we have to say something
that astounds us all, or something that at least you're
astounded by.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Hey, Danielle, what's up with you today?

Speaker 7 (03:01):
So we were at the Fourth of July fireworks and
there was a guy selling these glight up swords to
all of the parents for the kids. He was selling
them for ten dollars apiece. So I said to Sheldon,
I'm going to google this and see how much this
guy really paid for these. I said, because you can
get this stuff for cheap. I looked up there was
a place that you can get twelve pieces for nineteen dollars, okay,

(03:24):
for twelve. He was selling each one for ten.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
So I did the math.

Speaker 7 (03:29):
If he had those twelve and sold them one hundred
and ninety dollars next year. I said to Sheldon, well,
either we buy a bunch of these things and sell them,
or Sheldon said, even better, we screw with the people
that are buying them. We buy them give them out
for free.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Because they're so cheap.

Speaker 7 (03:47):
So we were to buy them and give them out
for free, these people that came in trying to rip
people off wouldn't make any money and I would feel
good about myself.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
No, yeah, taking money out of people's.

Speaker 6 (04:04):
Nothing for this.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
But he thought ahead.

Speaker 5 (04:10):
There was that goes and buys a case of water
for eight dollars and sells it for a dollar a bottle.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
But that's water.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
People need water to live. We're talking about light up
lightsabers or something.

Speaker 7 (04:23):
Craft I am next year freebies for all the kids
can hate it.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Capitalism is alive and well. To Danielle's house. Hey, Gandhi,
what's up with you.

Speaker 8 (04:32):
I had a little bit of a mind shift over vacation.
I told you guys, I've been trying to work out,
eat a little healthier. It's not going super well, but
I'm trying. I'm trying to be consistent and vacation derails that.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
We all know that, yeah, and that's allowed.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
It is.

Speaker 8 (04:46):
But I was like, I had these plans I was
gonna work out. I was going to do it, and
I was feeding myself up because I only worked out
four days when I was on vacation. I was talking
my dad about it and he said, yeah, but that's
far better than zero.

Speaker 9 (04:56):
Truth.

Speaker 8 (04:57):
Why are you going to be so upset? You still
did it four times. You could do better going forward.
You probably will, but don't beat yourself up for not
meeting your goal. You should still be happy if you
get a little bit down the path of meeting your goal.

Speaker 7 (05:08):
Vacation man al, whatever you eat in doing.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (05:14):
In my head, I was like, oh, we're gout two
hours a day, all right?

Speaker 2 (05:17):
I was sleeping, you're new okay.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
You know one thing I read over vacation and it
really hit home for some reason. It's like, what would
you five years from now come tell you now that
you should be doing right now? What five years from
now would your five years from now friend you come
back and say, you know what, I'm you five years

(05:39):
from now you need to be doing this right now
and you're.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Not doing it.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Think it through. I know that something to think about.
And Nate so graciously wants to give up his around
the room time.

Speaker 10 (05:48):
Yeah, I do because we've got two solo female callers,
solo traveling female callers.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Oh all right, well, because you deserve it around the room.
We're gonna give your own segment coming up then, fantastic.
I'll just go talk to Alex on line nineteen. Alex,
got it.

Speaker 9 (06:05):
How are you doing it?

Speaker 1 (06:06):
We're doing very well. Thank you for calling on. Talking
about solo travel. You said, there's this great subreddit. It's
all about them and navigating cities they should be going
to and should not be going to.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
What you what is it? First? Of all and what
have you walked away from knowing from this?

Speaker 6 (06:21):
So the first one you'll want to do is solo
travel in general. There's a lot of females, but then
there's also males that can talk about what they've seen,
possibly what their female companions went through. And so just
talking to people, whether that's DMS or as a global group,
because every person might have a different experience, different races,

(06:43):
different age groups. And so I really recommend checking Reddit.

Speaker 9 (06:47):
That's what's helped me stay safe.

Speaker 6 (06:49):
Post divorce and knock on wood. Thankfully, I've had no
issues in the past five years.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
Good, it's good. I love that you said there were two.
Was there another one?

Speaker 6 (06:59):
Yeah, So you just search female solo travel that will
also pop up, and so that group's a little bit smaller,
but it is females that will talk about their good.

Speaker 9 (07:09):
Experiences and they're bad.

Speaker 6 (07:12):
And then also just acknowledging that just because one person
had a bad experience doesn't mean that the people in
that community or that culture is bad. There might just
be little things you can do to be safer when
you do travel.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
Well, look at you, Alex, you are definitely talking positively
about solo travel. So obviously you encourage you encourage it,
but there's nothing wrong with doing a Reddit search or
whatever to find out more about things to think about
while traveling by yourself.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
Exactly.

Speaker 6 (07:40):
And I agree with Nate just very quickly of couples
wanting to kind of buddy up with you and I
scuba dive when I solo travel, and so usually you're
going to meet somebody or for me, meeting guys that
are kind of like dads that are gonna watch out
for you. And it really helps, even though they're strangers
right now, just having people that are making sure like, hey,
we haven't so and so we just want to make

(08:02):
sure you made it home last night.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
I love that.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
I love that it's always great to meet new people,
and that comes from the courage of traveling by yourself.
A lot of people are like, I don't want to
trouble myself, I don't want to talk to strangers. I
don't want to eat alone. Well, no, you do all
of the above, and it really really makes you feel
good that you made some decisions.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
On your own. You're a grown up now, you can
do these things. I love that. Alex, thank you so
much for your suggestion. I appreciate you listening today, everybody.
One last tip, oh absolutely.

Speaker 6 (08:29):
For safety. FaceTime your family every night when you get
in or a friend, because FaceTime shows who you are
versus somebody could steal your phone and text them. Man,
get quick.

Speaker 9 (08:41):
FaceTime made it in safe.

Speaker 6 (08:43):
Love you have a great night.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
I love that, all right, Alex, Thank you and we'll
see you. We'll see you on the road. I can't
wait to see you. Bring your passport. Ruby on line
twenty speaking of solo female travelers, just go back from Antarctica.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Wow, talk about that. How was that experience? Ruby?

Speaker 9 (09:03):
Oh, it was amazing. I would say it was a
trip of a lifetime. My family was scared for me.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Okay, so what made you decide to go up to
or down to or over to? Sorry, I'm all messed
up with my glow and article. Did you make that decision?
You could have easily gone to Epcot? I mean, hello, Well, yes.

Speaker 9 (09:23):
I have been to Apcot.

Speaker 6 (09:25):
No.

Speaker 9 (09:25):
Actually, I've been solo traveling for the last ten years.
And it's basically my motto is why wait to retire
to check off your bucket list? And so every year
I will pick take things that are on my bucket list,
but they are like, you're ready to go. You know,
I have the time because I have a full time job,
so we able to have to make sure. You know,

(09:46):
I'm able to take time off. So yeah, Antarctica. So
right now, I'm on a mission to complete all seven continents. Wow,
before I retire. And so this was my fifth continent.
But I did get a picture. You know, this is
your seventh continent. But it's amazing, It's very life changing.
And that's one one thing I would tell people, don't

(10:08):
wait because everyone I need is ninety percent is retired, right,
And I do agree with Nate. I do make a
lot of old couple friends. But at the same time,
a lot of people are inspired. So I feel, you know,
my trip is used, is worth it because at least
in every trip I inspire at least two or three

(10:29):
people like myself to just go.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
You know, why wait?

Speaker 4 (10:35):
That's my motto.

Speaker 9 (10:35):
Why wait until I retire and I can climb those
stairs because in Europe you don't have eighty A. There's
no stairs, there's no elevators.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Yeah, and so it's yeah, we're walking down to a beach.
I think a thousand steps, I kid you not, and
I'm thinking, gosh, I'm glad I'm doing this now. In
five years, I won't be able to do it, but
by yourself, and I think that that is so cool.
And you're You've got to be smart, You've got to
be safe in your back. Now, where is your next adventure?

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Ruby, I am.

Speaker 9 (11:10):
Actually going to I'm planning that out right now. Is
going to be Norway. So right now, my mission for
twenty twenty four is chasing the Northern Lights. So I
will be taking two trips into Norway, you know, kind
of hoping my chances are doubled. But that's that's my
I've been to Iceland a couple of times, but I

(11:32):
did not see them as much as I would like to.
You could only see them through the four of to
the camera. So yeah, that's my mission. That's I'm on
a mission. So two times to Norway this year.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
Yeah, promise us, you'll call us when you get back
from Norway. We can have this discussion again, Okay, Ruby.

Speaker 9 (11:50):
Absolutely, once I crossed the Arctic Circle right from going
north south, you know, all all the way through.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (11:57):
Absolutely, And good luck, guys, I.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
Love love, love you died.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
We appreciate you listening every single day. Well, thank you
so much, Ruby, thank you for listening to us.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
Okay, so confidence you need confidence all the five what's
the five things on your list?

Speaker 2 (12:11):
One more time? Just ding ding ding ding day?

Speaker 10 (12:14):
You got the dinger? Scary, you could do it. I
don't want to see his dinger. Okay, you can do
what you want. You don't have to compromise. Couples want
to talk to you. There's always room for one more.
You become so confident about yourself and then who cares
what people think?

Speaker 2 (12:27):
There you go. I love that all right,
