Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's time to go around the room with Elvis Duran
in the morning show.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
May I'm doing.

Speaker 3 (00:06):
Around the room? May I join you?

Speaker 4 (00:09):
Guys?

Speaker 2 (00:09):
So you know Billy Bush. We've known Billy Bush for
many years for many reasons. He hosts Extra on TV.
He also has this all new Hot Mics with Billy Bush.
It's on tune in radio. Anyway, he posted something on
his Instagram. He's driving around Los Angeles. He drove up
to the Palisades to kind of take a look at
what's going on, and he had his cameraman's in the

(00:31):
back and they were just trying to get some footage
for his show. He didn't know the cameraman was rolling
when he discovered this, and he wrote this. He said,
about twenty of my friends lost their homes today, and
after taping my show for tonight, I looped back up
into the Palisades and checked on as many of their
homes as I could. And he said the hardest call

(00:51):
was to his very best friend to tell him his
house was gone. Can you imagine doing that? Oh no, no,
My camera member was rolling until I turned around, and
with his permission, you see the devastation. You can't imagine
what people were going through. So if you follow Billy Bush,
you can actually see that. I can't imagine being that
bearer of such awful, awful news to call your friend

(01:13):
to say, I got to tell you your house isn't here.
He was going down one block. He said, there was
one house in the middle of the block that was
still standing. All the rest of the block was gone.
So that's what's going on. And look, they say, look,
you know, sometimes you got to turn off the TV
and get away from the bad news. I agree with that,
but it's also good to be aware of what's going on.

(01:35):
People you need. I'm not saying we need to suffer
along with people, but it's a part of the human
experience is to try to put your feet in their
shoes as best as you can, because your feet could
be in those shoes one day and you may need
some help. And I think it's so important. Anyway, that's
a little something I saw. Making that phone call must
have been just devastating. All right, what is on your

(01:55):
mind today? I'm gonna start. I'm gonna start with you, Gandhi,
what are you thinking about today?

Speaker 5 (01:58):
Okay, so we've kind of talking about this a little
this morning. If you are starting a new year's resolution,
or there's just something that you want to do, get
yourself an accountability partner, because it makes it a lot
easier when there's somebody else holding you accountable for things.
Andrews my buddy. Right now, we have started working out again.
We're trying to eat healthy. When you have an accountability partner,
you also have to not be mean to that person.

(02:21):
Just listen to them when they're telling you not to
do something, Nate. Nate asked for help and then acted
like a lunatic.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Andrew failed. That's all I got to listen to your
acostability partner.

Speaker 5 (02:31):
It's a big deal and it'll probably really help you
when there's someone looking at you judging it's correct.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
And by the way, what you're doing now is any better.
You know, we'd have an accountability partner, Nate.

Speaker 6 (02:45):
Oh yeah, he asked us for help and then he
abandoned it.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
You guys failed. I'm sorry a little bit harder.

Speaker 5 (02:52):
You're rustling people for a cookie, dude you Nate, Yeah,
but no offense.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Gandhi. We all know you and Andrew and the relationshiphip
you two have as accountability of partners. But you guys
have physical fights with each other over the head with
baseball bats.

Speaker 5 (03:06):
I was walking toward one of the cookie and Andrew
Raci's hand. He said, you don't want this, You don't
want this hand coming that way, and I don't.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
Wow, that's some tough accountability. Hey, producer, Sam, what's up
with you today? All right?

Speaker 6 (03:19):
Does anyone else here watch Severance?

Speaker 3 (03:22):
No? No one? Okay, I tried.

Speaker 7 (03:25):
I love this show so much and so few people
have heard of it. You know, when you just have something,
you assume everyone's like down on it. Yeah, apparently only
eleven percent of homes even have Apple TV Plus, which
is the streaming service that uses this. And I'm petrified
because season two is about to come out that no
one's going to watch it, and then there won't be
a season three. So if you're looking for a show,
consider Severance. It's fantastic and it has a great cast.

(03:48):
It's a little bit of a mind blow, and please
don't let it be canceled for season three.

Speaker 6 (03:53):
You have to help me. You have to watch it
and fundness with me.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
You know it for you will do it. Thank you
so much, John Love a good mind blow? Hey, Nay, Okay,
did I hear the woman, did you have enough sugar
energy to get gone? I do, well, I'm gonna give
you a mind job here in just a second. So Danielle,
for Christmas gave me this wonderful This Day and History
calendar where you learn a fact every day. Did you
know that in on this day in fourteen ninety three,

(04:16):
Christopher Columbus spotted three mermaids. But they were actually manatees,
that's what they figured out they were. But interesting that
I'm going to teach this calendar is that the Nina
the Penta in the Santa Maria, the Santa Maria.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Do you know how big that ship was?

Speaker 6 (04:29):
And he guesses that was the biggest of all.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
It was the biggest that it was only seventy feet long,
so only about double the length of this room. Wow,
imagine crossing the Atlantic in something only about twice the width.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Of this room and making it and making it and
then going back. So there you go. They're smaller than
you probably thought they were.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
That is a mind blow. Thank you for blowing my mind. Well, hey, Frogy,
what's up with you?

Speaker 3 (04:56):
There's just so much bad news right now.

Speaker 8 (04:58):
I like to see stories like this, so Ricky Piersoll's
a wide receiver for the San Francisco forty nine ers,
and back in August, he was shot by a seventeen
year old boy during a failed robbery attempt in San
Francisco's Union Square. Yesterday, Ricky spoke out and said, I
do not know this young man. I don't know why
he did what he did. I don't know how he
grew up. But I'd love to meet with him, be

(05:18):
able to forgive him, and at some point talk to
this child and help further his life.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
And make things better.

Speaker 8 (05:24):
WHOA wow, And I just think that's really big of
Ricky and I like seeing stories like that where he
wants to take something that really could have been fatal.
He was shot in the hospital, could have killed him,
but he wants to do what he can to help
this young boy so he doesn't do something like this
again and better his life. And wow, good for Ricky Piersall.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Thanks for sharing that. H scary.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
What's up with you today?

Speaker 9 (05:44):
So I've been seeing all these videos online people like
going to chick fil A because and you know, I
was thinking about it because you mentioned chick fil A.
So I'm like, Aha, chick fil A so people like
go to Chick fil A, they buy these chicken tenders
and then they take a couple of their honey and
a couple of their buffalo sauce and they poured it
together in the box. They closed the box of chicken tenders.
They shake it up, and now they have made their

(06:05):
own makeshift hot honey chicken tenders Chick fil A. But
my question is don't they offer hot honey?

Speaker 3 (06:11):
And apparently they don't.

Speaker 9 (06:12):
There's no hot honey at Chick fil A, So you
got to make your own. But they really should do that.

Speaker 6 (06:16):
I'm just saying, give them an idea.

Speaker 9 (06:18):
Scared, this has been all over TikTok everyone's doing this
the TikTok oh.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
Is that why you're so?

Speaker 2 (06:22):
That's why you're saying it because it was all over TikTok.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
I saw it.

Speaker 9 (06:25):
It was top of mind. Froggy mentioned Chick fil A before,
So I'm like, I'm like, I wonder if anybody you
guys ever tried that.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Yeah, I would, I would eat that an entire bat.
I would eat an entire bathsub of that. Right now,
you gotta make your own the crunchy tenders and you
put some hot and some Honey on.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
There, bring it Buffalo sauce and Honey.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
And Danielle, what's going on with you?

Speaker 6 (06:46):
So mine is kind of two parts.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
So yesterday, you know, you never know who you see
walking around these halls, and we meet everybody.

Speaker 6 (06:52):
We're very lucky.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
But there is a writer of mystery novels and thrillers
who has had a lot of his books adapted to
Netflix series.

Speaker 6 (07:00):
His new one's called Missing You. It's fantastic.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
His name is Harlan Coben, And all of a sudden, yesterday,
I'm introduced to this guy.

Speaker 6 (07:09):
He says his name and it was him.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
I almost fainted on the floor because Sheldon and I
love him so much. We talk about his shows. A
lot of them are set in the UK. I couldn't
believe he was here, and he's the nicest guy. But
then I find out that our friend Jamie is kind
of working with him. She's representing him now. Now a
lot of our listeners will remember Jamie because she was
on the air with us when she decided to quit

(07:32):
her job here at iHeart because she just wasn't satisfied
anymore and she wanted something different with her life, and
she wasn't happy to see Jamie looking here yesterday, looking fabulous,
being so happy. It's like she got her mojo back.
It made me so happy. Not only is she working
with one of my favorite people, but she looks happier
than I've ever seen her. And that just made I

(07:54):
got through my day yesterday with like a skip in
my step because I saw how fabulous she was. It's
doing so sometimes you need a little change in your
life so that you can look like Jamie and be
happy like Jamie, and it's just so cool. So got
to meet Harlan and got to see how Jamie is fantastic.
So it was a great day yesterday.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
That's awesome, you know.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
I tell you what, you just gave the best advice
from our show today. That was the best advice. I
love that.

Speaker 6 (08:18):
Oh thanks.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
The moral of the story is to leave this place.

Speaker 6 (08:24):
I too gathered that.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
Yeah, no, no, you're so right.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
You know what if you find yourself one day you
wake up and you realize, oh my god, I feel
like I'm making sausage, meaning you do the same thing
at the same time, it's the same way every day.
Getting out of that ruck can really really be a
mind blowing rebirth. In your world, and she did it.
Next time you see her, say tell her. I said, congratulations, yeah,
and I love that your favorite author in the world

(08:49):
was right down the home.

Speaker 6 (08:50):
My gosh, Harlan Covid.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
I'm telling you if you haven't seen any of his
shows on Netflix, they're like eight nine episodes each and
it's all from the books that he's written. They are fantastic,
so many twists and turns, so great, So check it out.

Speaker 6 (09:04):
Harlan Coben is his name. He's great, excellent.

Speaker 7 (09:06):
Thank you.
