Speaker 1 (00:06):
Is that good friend and he's hilarious. The Morning show
is gets you moving a little bit at the Morning
show show, Well, here we go. Thank you for the introduction,
Mo Bounce, Welcome to the day. And there's Froggy, there's Danielle,
(00:28):
there's Gandhi. Hello, there's oh look, scary producer Sam is here,
Scottie Bead and Master Control to make sure we're on.
And of course the guy who thinks he's in charge.
And I wish he would be the one and only
seen you. So it is Earth Day, a very important day. Um,
(00:55):
we should start our show with something earthy? Yeah? Do
we have something by the famous Earth? It is that
too old school? I don't know, Gandhi? What should we
play for Earth Day? Um? We can always do Earth
by Little Dickey. Oh and some beabs in there too.
All right, Dicky, there you go. A little Dickie's the
(01:15):
help of many people. It is Earth Day? Did they
really edit out the parajuana? I don't get it. I'm
done anyway. Well, it is Earth Day. Try to do
at least one little thing to protect our mother Earth,
because she is here for us and she's beautiful. Go online,
there's pictures of her anyway. Our first caller of the
(01:36):
day is Mary Shay Online three, calling from Spokane. Hey,
Mary Shay, are you celebrating your twenty fifth anniversary working
at Alaska Airlines? No, A last guy. I sure am
Laska Airlines. You know, I just read this morning Last
Airlines continues to be the highest rated airline in America. Congratulations. Well,
(01:56):
thank you, thank you. I had to call in because
you guys just celebrated twenty fifth. I'm celebrating money. Look
at that. So you started at Alaska Airlines when we
started doing this show on our on Elvis Dren Morning Show. Airlines,
I guess we'll call it that, you know. Yeah, so
I read that Alaska Airlines not only is it great
for cleanliness but in on time flights and arrivals, but
(02:18):
also it's best in America for pets, and you treat
pets very well in your airline. Is it true? Hey?
I love the pets. That's the best part of my
day seeing an animal checking it, I know. And what's
great and special about Alaska Airlines, you know, knowing where
they're flying, they actually let polar bears come on board.
It's fun, that's exciting. We treat everybody, just like anybody else.
(02:42):
When they listen, half the people are gone from the flight.
Of course, that's the beauty of it. So tell us
why you love working for America Airlines. I mean you've
been there for twenty five years. I mean Alaska Airlines. Sorry, oops,
wrong one. You're okay. There are neighbors next door. That's okay,
that's okay. I just love the company because they treat
(03:03):
me right. I have the best time every day. I
work at three thirty in the morning, and I am
just as happy and giddy as I am any other time. Wow,
I love that. Well, congratulations, and you know what, I
gotta be honest with you. They are so lucky to
have you. They're in the last airline, So congratulations to
(03:23):
them for being smart enough to make sure you're happy.
Mary Shay, you are the first caller of the day.
We're going to send you some Elvis Train morning show
scrubs from Hackensack, Meridian. I hope you have a safe
flight today. Thanks for listening to us. I sure well,
thanks for making me happy every day. If I don't
hear you guys, but live I listened to you guys
on the replay. Oh I love that yes, consumers anyway
(03:43):
you can pure well, thank you, Mary Shay. Hold on
one second, isn't that great someone who she loves your job?
You know, it's so rare to meet one of those
types of people these days. Not here in this room though,
job stopping. Absolutely. All right, let's get into the three
things we need to know. We've got your horoscopes coming
(04:05):
up in about seven minutes, eight minutes, so I hang on,
they're on the way. You're up, Gandhi, what's going on?
All right? The twenty year old man killed by Minnesota
police is being laid to rest today. The funeral for
Dante Wright will be held in a Minneapolis church less
than two weeks after an officer shot him during a
traffic stop. She reportedly mistook her gun for a taser
and is charged with manslaughter. The shooting set off national protests,
(04:27):
and what happened during the nearby trial for the X
cop Derek Chauvin, who was convicted Thursday of killing George Tuesday,
I'm sorry of killing George Floyd. The White House says
that those who are vaccinated in the US can expect
new recommendations from the CDC in the near future. We
thought this might happen. The White House Senior Advisor Andy
Slavitt said that he's hopeful that in the next couple
(04:47):
of weeks, the agency will release more relaxed guidelines for
Americans who are fully vaccinated. He added that the new
rules will be based on science. At the same time, however,
at least one hundred and fifty countries are now on
the State Departments not travel list because of the coronavirus. Yes, please,
So I got my results back from my blood test
from my physical yesterday, and it was so cool to
(05:09):
see my doctor. I love her. They see the spike
in my antibodies because of the vaccine. She said, you
are successfully vaccinated. A lot of people get it done
and you just kind of wonder what did it take.
But she says, yeah, here we are. She said, you
got them. They're they're crawling around inside you like every mother.
So there you go. It's so cool anyway, that's exciting,
(05:30):
it's freeing. It's cool to see it in writing, you know. Yeah, well,
congratulations on your new antibodies. Thank you. And finally, today
is Earth Day. Elvis mentioned that earlier. If you didn't know,
it's the anniversary of the birth of the environmental movement.
Earth Day looks to inspire new ideas and bring people
to action despite the pandemic. One theme for this year's
holiday is Restore our Earth. Organizers say they want to
(05:52):
focus on communities that have been disproportionately affected by the
pandemic and by climate change. Events around the world are
meant to educate the public with new ways to live sustainably.
For instance, recycling, reducing household energy use, and saving water
all very important. Some of today's events will also recognize
organizations that work year round to improve the quality of
the environment. I think we should count as part of
(06:13):
those groups. And those are your three things. Thank you God. Yeah,
I know you love your mother Earth. We all do
you guys ready for your Thursday? Yeah? Oh yeah, all right,
let's have a Thursday. Elvis Duran in the Morning Show. Hey,
it's Gary Jones. State Farm is the real deal when
it comes to car and home insurance. For personalized service
(06:34):
and an award winning easy to use mobile app just
part of what makes their rates so surprisingly great. So
when you want the real deal, like a good neighbor,
State Farm is there. Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.
I don't get it. It's Earth Day. It should be
all about the planet Earth. But people are into the stars.
They want to hear the horoscopes. All right, all right,
(06:54):
let's travel off Earth to get to the horoscopes right now?
Who are you doing them with today, Producer Sam? I
am doing this with Miss Danielle? Oh, thank god, another miss.

of the day on the way. What do you have
coming up, Danielle, Carlie, what lies have you created? Okay,
first of all, have you seen Drake lately. Damn, that's
(08:43):
no lie. Holy Cardi b is looking to break into
the beauty business. I guess it's kind of exciting news here.
I got my first mosquito. By to the season ends,
I'll brit on board and suck my blood out and
now I'm scratching scratching it and I think it's a
(09:03):
good thing, right, signs signs of good things to come. Yeah.
I went to a mall yesterday. That was frightening. Let's see.
It was It's like people are like walking right towards
you on their phone. You're like, uh no, get away
from me. I was up against the wall with my
face smashed into the chocolate store window. Anyway, that was interesting.
(09:26):
Uh yeah. We have a full day ahead. So if
you're thinking about traveling, a lot of people are a
lot of people are excited about getting out and getting
on the road or on a ship, on a cruise.
Believe it or not, there are so many people who
are all ready to hop on board a beautiful Norwegian
Cruise Line ship. And so we went to the top.
We have the president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Lines
(09:47):
to tell us what they're doing to get ready to
get us on the seas. We'll talk to Harry and
about when a couple hours. Okay, so you have nothing
to do, just to stay with us all day. He
I can't think of anything better to do exactly. Anyway,
it's interesting to see how they're preparing to get us
out there safe. All right, that and more on the way.
We'll be back after this messages are coming through. I
(10:12):
had an imaginary friend drove my mom crazy. She told
me my dad hit him and killed him with the car.
Got strand in the Morning show. Thank you to the text.

to use your thumbnail to make an X. Oh yeah,

(11:45):
where to start here. Gandhi's boyfriend Brandon got his second vaccination. Yes,
how's he doing yesterday? He got it the day before
and yesterday he said, in a quote, it feels like
I've been hit by a truck. It was like, oh, no,
poor guy, meaning but he just he's just lethar Jake
(12:05):
and wants to sleep. Yeah, he was just happened to me,
I'm like, yeah, he said he was really achy, like
his body was hurting, and it just felt like like
a terrible, terrible workout when you're really sore. Um. But
I found it interesting because I got both of my
vaccines and I told him, don't worry, you're not gonna
feel anything. It's fine because I didn't feel anything. So
now I'm wondering if I got a real shot. I'm
(12:27):
hoping I didn't go get to an antibody's test like
I got, because when I got those results yesterday and
she said, yeah, you got it, she said, you're glowing
in the dark. That's all I'm gonna go do that,
She's like, go live your life dangerously durant Danielle. So
I got mine as well, and in my house it
was the opposite. Sheldon had not one that his arm
(12:51):
didn't even hurt. Yeah. I spiked one hundred and three
fever and for twenty four hours I was dead to
the world. That's so weird, how it it's people differently,
even vaccine. It's hard to predict. Yeah, foggy, that's how
I was too. So I got my dose at like
noon and at midnight I went to bed like eleven o'clock.
(13:13):
I'm like, oh, I'm fine, I'm not going to feel anything.
Two am. I woke up. I felt like I was
in the Arctic. I was cold, put like seven layers
of clothes on. Then I'm sweating one I'm like, okay,
it worked, Okay, I'm good. He So Nate was telling
me that he this is odd, because it made my
brain just kind of explode a little bit. He went
and registered his car in the state of New York, right, yeah,
(13:36):
and they sent they sent his plates and his registration
to him, and his car is now under someone else's name,
like a total stranger. They made it a little mistake. Yeah,
so someone else owns your car. Technically yes, right now,
somebody else owns my vehicle. So I'm driving somebody else's car.
But so last week I go into the DMV because
(13:57):
I just switched my plates from Connecticut to New York.
So this is the whole process. You have to drop
off paperwork and everything. And so then I get the
plates yesterday and it's made out to this guy right there, right,
and I'm like, this isn't right because it's all of
my car information on the register, your van and everything everything.
(14:18):
Luckily I had the number for the DMV and I
call and this nice woman answers, and you know, she
I'm telling her my story. She goes, oh, no, I
gotta call you back. So then she, you know, calls
me back in twenty and it said, okay, we have
to get this handled quickly, so you have to come
in tomorrow and we've got to figure this out because
technically the guy has my title to my co. You
(14:42):
may own his car, and it may be a much
better car than yours. Whoa, you got a lambo down
the street. No wait, they don't think that this guy
did this on purpose, Like this is that's what I thought.
I'm like, well, what happens? She goes, well, it was
probably just paperwork because with the COVID everything, they're like,
you know, doing everything by hand. Every everybody blames everything
(15:03):
on COVID. Yeah I know. Well so now you're gonna
get that fixed today. But I love it got my
mind to cranking about mistaken identity, and it reminded me
of a story that Scary told us years ago. Yeah,
where his name is Anthony Skeary, that's his name, okay,
And he found out that there is a convicted murderer,
(15:24):
a first degree murderer who was committed to death row.
I mean, they're gonna kill him with the same name.
So they told Scary that if he ever gets pulled
over by the cops, they could actually throw him back
in jail because they think he's the murderer. Yeah, that's true.
When I when I moved from Brooklyn to Jersey City,
I had to get a Jersey state license and they said,
(15:45):
oh no, the state of New Jersey and your name
don't go well together. You will get thrown in jail
and carted off. They will think you are this guy.
So I had to go all the way to Trenton,
New Jersey to get a special driver's license. I had
a doubly triply prove who I was, and I think
they put a letter in front of I have an
S in front of my driver's license number. I don't
know if you guys Doso sends it right there on
(16:06):
his license. I am not a murderer, right, but the
coding and they run. If they run my plates and
driver's license, they will now see that I am not
that guy. But now's the time to murder somebody. Yeah,
that sounds like a free kill right seriously, right? True?
So there's that. So the mistaken identity, I mean you
could there could be some guy named Bob Jones who
(16:27):
is on the do not fly list, and if your
name is Bob Jones very common name or it used
to be, they'll say, no, you can't fly. Well I'm
not that Bob Jones. Bob Jones. Well so uh yeah, yeah, gandhi.
With Nate's situation, seeing as how his car is registered
to someone else, he kind of has a free crime
spree issue going on today. If he wanted to, right,
(16:49):
he could run red lights and do all kinds of stuff. Yeah,
I could. I could put these plates on, I could
commit all sorts. They can. You love having that powered
This other guy, I'm gonna drive right through the toll
and not play. You should do that, just get out
there and reek having Well, we did some research. So
(17:09):
the other the other Anthony Scary, the one who has
the same name, the convicted murderer, same name as our Scary.
He actually blew up a car mafia style. Oh my gosh. Yeah,
man killed someone and then he was he was sentenced
to death. True story. Yeah, And I moved here and
they're like you're him. I'm like, no, I'm not. I'm not.
(17:32):
I mean it makes me look at you differently. I
gotta be honest. Yeah, it's crazy. Maybe it is you
and you just don't want to tell us. Yeah, shady pasted, Yes, yes, sure,
I'm just wondering about your shady future. I'm sure you
have one anyway. So uh yeah, be careful that one
little slip of a computer or mistake or a person
entering information could change everything you should. You could get
(17:55):
someone else's plates in your car is now registered to
someone else, or there is a convicted murderer out there
with your same name, and now you'll never be trusted again.
I love it. Chip online one same, same issue is scary.
Let's get into this high chip are you doing? We're doing? Okay,
what's your story? Okay, it goes like this, and I'm
(18:17):
telling you it freaked me out. Twenty seventeen, the year
twenty seventeen, twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen. How I call it
a police for you know, just the simple stuff. And
every time I called, I give them, you know, license
registration and every time and I'll just say my name
is John Doe. Forst sake of you know, and they said, oh, okay,
they ran you know, my place and this, and they said, oh,
(18:39):
we hate to tell you. One cop says, but there's
a warrant for your risk. And at first I freaked out,
but I'm like, wait a minute, shit, you're not doing
nothing wrong, having for many, many, hundreds of years. And
then you know, a year later, it's something else happened. Nothing.
You know, I had to call the police for neighbor
being a jerk, you know, which happens to connecting a lot,
and believe me, so would say, I'm gonna move to
(19:00):
New York. Okay, So what happened? I mean, what were
you what were you convicted of? Why do they want
to thank you nothing? There's a guy with my exact
same name, John Dooe, exact same birthday. Uh, and he
was one number off when they ran my social security
the final time. And I finally straightened that was it was.
(19:23):
The police are like, don't worry here, we can pulled
over again. I'm like, yeah, but when you see the
lights on Elvis and the whole elvist rain, the show
tell me you don't. You shouldn't freak out if you
do nothing wrong. But I have this phobey of you know,
a guy would have gone in the badge, especially all
kidding aside and lot of what's going on? So well, No, absolutely,
But did you ever find out what the other guy
(19:44):
with your name did? Yeah? He had outstanding uh DMZ
motor vehicle or lawrence for guessing. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm like,
I'm like, and the officer was so nice to me
in Connecticut, you know, locally where I live. He goes,
they listen, you seem like a nice guy. Nice. But
(20:06):
and again I'm like, no, one time I got a
little sny. I said, no, I got no wrestling me alone.
But that's what I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be
so rude. Yeah, turned around, put the hands up in
the air. I'm like, no, I know, you gotta be
that's the thing, you know. But if you find out
that someone else is in the system with your name,
you gotta get that fixed. Get that special letter. That's scary, hey,
(20:30):
scary knocking on the thing, put him on hold. You
get that. You get that special letter. No, seriously, get
that special letter. Yeah, you need that otherwise you're dead. Yeah,
who's entering the phones today? Can I explain what happened. No, no, no, anyway,
but he's but Chip has a point. You know what
it's If you have the same name as someone else
and they're convicted murderer or they owe money for tickets,
(20:52):
you're screwed, all right. Then you have the same birthday
like that, even that even adds to it. Now you're like,
oh no, that's you, all right, And there you have it.
We got to get into the Field Goods because I
need to feel good. Okay, I do, I really do.
I'm here for you. Okay, let's go. What do you have?
(21:12):
All right? So today's today's Field Goods comes to us
from Christina Loaza, and it's about the bond between quait
Casey Andrews and her friend Iz Venus Cortez. So, Casey
met Mynez twenty years earlier through the Big Sister's program.
She was her big and they became incredibly close and
then poof, one day, Iz was an adult and she
(21:34):
decided to become Casey and Casey's husband's savior. The two
were trying to get pregnant and had six failed artificial
insemination's attempts, and when Casey opened up to my Nez
about that, she offered to carry a baby for them.
She didn't even ask I. I just just raised her
hand and said she wanted to do that. She wanted
to give back to her big sister. So the doctors
(21:55):
transferred a single embryo to prevent the risk of twins.
But guess what didn't matter. Twins happened anyway. Right now,
they're a huge, happy family. And if you want to
see what these boys look like, they were actually cast
as the kids on Fuller House, which is just super cute. Right, So,
thank you so much Christina for sending this to me,
(22:16):
And if you have a story that deserves to be featured,
email me Sam at elvistrand dot com subject line feel
goods excellent, Sam, we have to take a break. I
have to yell at Nate. It's it's gonna get really vicious.
I just want to I want to save you from that. Danielle,
I promise you're coming up after this Els in the
(22:38):
Morning show. Why is Discovery Plus such a great streaming value? Well,
fifty five thousand episodes from twenty networks, plus two hundred originals.
It's the greatest collection of real life entertainment on the planet.
For just four ninety nine a month Discovery Plus Stream. Now,
well full morning, for I've always to help the show.
(23:05):
I love her. Wow, all right, No, okay, we're all
clear now, I yelled at Nate. We can move only that.
It's one thing when the person you have to trust
in your career in life pushes you in front of
(23:25):
a bus that's coming your way at fifty miles an hour.
It's another thing if everyone on that bus is on
fire and flames are shooting out at the windows and
it's coming right at you. I didn't I didn't mean
to push you in front of that bus. I just happened. Happened,
no choice but to just watch. Let's all right, Well,
(23:47):
what's so funny frog you? Why are you laughing at this? EVI?
I gotta be honest with you, something like I don't
I don't like when I'm in the target, like when
you when you when you're mad at me, I don't
like it. But when you're mad at somebody else and
you're I can always tell how bad, how angry you
really are, Because if you're super duper angry, then you
don't say any funny lines. But if you're just below
that super duper angry, you start yelling, but then you
(24:08):
throw in the line like you rolled me in front
of a bus with burning passengers. I'm like, oh my god,
I start laughing. I think, well, thank you. I appreciate that.
I don't want to be known as I don't want
to be known as the grumpy old jerk. Oh you're not.
You're funny. You're funny when you're mad. Sometimes you're saying,
you're saying it's funny being a grumpy old jerk. You
(24:32):
say funny things while you're mad. Yeah, I yell at
everyone like that. Obviously, I don't know a bad guy.
I'm a bad guy. Agressive. No, I think it was
regular aggressive, and that's that's healthy. When you immediately accused
him of being hired by the competition, that's always my favorite.
Sometimes I think that our senior executive producer, straightenate, he
(24:56):
makes decisions for our show and his live direction that
would be made by the competition who wants us, they
want us to fail. Really didn't feel that. Dude, Listen
you as you listen to this, you maybe you're not
quite catching on to what we're saying. Something happened a
minute ago, and I don't know if you caught it
or not, but it was it was I believe deliberately
planned by Nate to ruin our show. I really do,
(25:20):
because he's been he's been a radio producer for so
many years, for Oh my God, for Ryan Seacrest, for
our show. So to make that decision that you made
was like, the only way to make that is if
it was on purpose to ruin us, and it was you.
You crushed my soul. So sorry. He laughed about it.
(25:42):
I heard you say the guy's naw. I'm like, oh god,
I accidentally hit the wrong button. All right, we sent
the cult all right, all right, we're good. We're good.
I do think you're high about the competition. Yeah, anyway,
we gotta move on, daniel read this text here. You
are so not the grumpy old jerk. You are effing hilarious.
Absolutely do not do not give me praise when I
(26:07):
should be nicer and more pleasant. We got to move on. Now,
allow me to move us on because I cannot let
Nate drive this ship any longer. So I'm gonna make
the decision to get into to the Danielle Report. Danielle, yea,
at long last, we have you. Let's go what do
you have going on? All? Right? So I think Tom
(26:30):
Bergeron might be returning to Dancing with the Stars. He
took to Instagram and he told fans to stay tuned,
and then he posted a picture from The Godfather with
the line, just when I thought I was out, they
pulled me back in wow over a bar and gets
lots and lots of I know exactly, Oh you want
me back? He was great, he was amazing. He was amazing. Drake,
(26:55):
Oh my gosh. He has been rehabbing from an injured
knee and he's been in the gym and he's woof.
There's a video of him with his shirt off and
the abs and he's got abs. I didn't even know
you could have abs. Where he has abs. It's crazy.
It looks insane. Chrissy Teagan and Megan Marko, did you
guys know that they were models together on Deal or
No Deal back in the day. That's how they started. Yeah,
(27:17):
And they actually were friends and then they fell out
of touch with each other over the years. But when Chris,
when Chrissy Teagan lost her child, Megan actually reached out
to her and she was so kind and they've reconnected
and they've been friendly. Since Cardi b is looking to
break into the beauty biz with Bardie Beauty, it totally
makes sense. Legal documents just got filed. Cosmetics, fragrances, I mean,
(27:40):
nail polished, skincare, haircare, so many other things. So she's
excited about that. You've been waiting for some of your
favorite shows to come back to television, to come back
to Netflix, Cobra Kai, it is gonna come back. You,
it is gonna come back. The problem is because of COVID,
it looks like we're getting it fourth quarter of the year.
(28:00):
So when Scary is in fourth quarters, Scary October December
of this year, that's what we're gonna get to binge
watch some of our favorite shows that will be back.
Michael Jackson's daughter, Parish Jackson, she landed a role in
the upcoming season of American Horror Story. She will be
in at least one episode. To congratulations to her. There's
a Google search in the United States for our favorite superheroes,
(28:23):
and Spider Man is actually number one. It's actually also
number one in fifty six other countries. You'll find this
weird Captain America not number one in the United States.
In America, and he's number one in Canada. O Canada
loves Captain America. Captain Canada, they do. And Lizzo is
(28:44):
part of Dub's self esteem project. I don't know if
you saw her, but this is all about body confidence.
And she is posed on her couch. She's totally nude,
but you know, hiding everything, hands in all the right places.
And she said that she was going to like edit
the pictures like she does. But you know what, did
you just see the real deal and exactly how it
all is and all about body positivity. Today is Earth Day,
(29:05):
so there's a lot of things on television. Don't forget
Earth Today the musical on Facebook watch twelve Noon Today
hosted by Bill Knight, The Science Guide. There's a lot
of other things that are going to be along with that.
Netflix gives you Life and Color with David Attenborough. Hulu
gives you Greta Thunberg a Year to change the World.
Disney Plus has Secrets of the Whales out today, and
our web guru Ali is loving Cruel Summer on Hulu.
(29:29):
She said it's produced by Jessica Beale and she said
it's fantastic, so we may want to give it a shot.
That is my Danielle report. Now I have another list, thanks,
actual list of show, so we gotta check out. There
you go, we'll get to him. All right, let's take
a break. We're back after this Vistoran in the Morning Show.
You guys make my day every single day in the
(29:50):
Morning Show, What Nate, why didn't you tell? Oh? You
were telling you it's really funny. The song is fading
and then NASA's Pat tell them about your gas, and
then then all I hear is the music. I'm like,
what tell them about my my gas? Well? Can we
have them guests as to what gas I'm talking about?
(30:11):
What did he eat? You had something? I don't even
know what you're talking about. You left the grill on.
Oh no, it's shame. Alex and I grilled out on Monday.
So last night I looked out there and I said,
the thermometer on the grill looks like it's like hot.
(30:34):
And I walked out to the grill was still on
from Monday. Oh shut up, I'm like, what are we
running a crematorium here? Yesterday was Wednesday? So it was
on from Monday night, all day Tuesday, all Tuesday night,
and all day yesterday and then last night, and so
I'm like, uh, yeah, what did I did we cause
(30:55):
any harm to the environment or anything. I don't think
that contributed. It's solely to global warming, but I don't
think it held. It was weirdly leave your gas grill
on for three days or so. All right, there's that?
Is that the interesting story you thought would be a rating?
Grebber Oh, I didn't know how much time was left
(31:17):
in the break. I thought that would be something you
could tell them outside of it. I did that with
boiling water once and I left, like the pot on
and I was boiling water, and I went out to
grab one of the kids from a practice. And I
got to the practice and I went, oh my gosh,
Oh my gosh, I gotta go home. I ran home.
The water had all evaporated, and the burning smell that
I started to get. I'm like, thank gosh, I remembered
(31:39):
you're cooking your pan. Yeah I would not have been good. Yeah, yeah,
that pan's probably done. So Earth Day Here we Go
first celebrated April nineteen seventy. Earth Day two thousand and nine,
Disney released a documentary a film called Earth that followed
the migration paths of four Animal Families. That was such
a great film Earth Disney, look it up. On the
(32:01):
first Earth Day, twenty million people gathered in the streets
of America to protest the Industrial Revolution. A guy named
gay Lord Nelson founded Earth Day while he was working
at it as a US senator. Senator Nelson, it is
Earth Day. What are you doing? Are you doing anything
differently today other than just maybe just reminding yourself that
we are strangling this earth inch by inch? Yep? What
(32:25):
is that documentary you saw recently? Kissed the Ground? Kiss
the Ground? They I've heard it makes you very, very
upset and sad to see this thing, but it's necessary
to wat. I fell asleep before the end, and I
was so depressed I had to just go to sleep.
But apparently the ending is more uplifting according to Gandhi, Yes, okay, well,
(32:48):
I mean it's all about the damage we've done, the
things that have happened because of what we're doing, and
that includes pandemics, because of the way we've treated the earth.
But at the end, it gives you some directives on
how you, as one person, can make a difference in
what's going on right now, so you can and It's
as simple as literally planting trees, and you can do
that all the time. You can plant them now. They
(33:09):
grow obviously much later, but you can get those seeds
in the ground and it makes a big difference. They
want every person to plant if you could sixty a week,
and we are nowhere close to that. So if you
can even just get a couple in, that'd be great.
You know, it was less than a year ago. Right
around all year ago are the fiftieth annual celebration of
Earth Day, where we all looked up and said, because
(33:30):
of COVID, our earth is actually getting a break where
we were actually seeing wildlife in New York harbor whales
that we'd never seen here before. You could actually in Venice, Italy,
you could the canals, which you are usually murky green.
You could see the bottoms of the canals because the
water was nice and clean. Yeah, from remember the area
(33:53):
in Venice. I had just been there recently and it
was like dirty brown water. But without all the people
you know, constantly moving in Venice or in that area,
the water was crystal clear. That's what's changing, is that
the water is able to heal itself. I did say
that didn't I in Venice. I want to know you
said Venice. No, No, maybe I said a different Italy,
a place in Italy. It's okay, but I'm telling you no, no,
(34:14):
but foggy they had those. I've been to Venice for many,
many years, and that water was as nasty. Gotta be honest,
It's stunk and it was gross. So anyway, so COVID
actually did something to give planet Earth a break last year,
you know, albeit a small break. Yeah, I'm scary. You know.
A couple of years ago, I got involved with this
awesome organization called four Ocean. It's the number four Ocean.
(34:38):
They're known for these like bracelets that they give out.
They basically removed trash and garbage from the ocean. People
clean up the beaches in a coalition, and they go
from beach to beach around the country. And I got
involved with one at the Rockaways in New York, and
I did one in Florida once. They've removed fourteen million,
three hundred twenty three thousand, nine hundred ninety six pounds
(35:01):
of trash from the ocean waters. So and they're doing
a special Earth Day bracelet too. So it's a really
cool organization. I think you should check it out as
long as long as those breathless don't end up in
the ocean. I'm okay, yeah, yeah, so again. The Disney
film is called Earth. I do believe that what I said. Yes, yeah,
it came out in two thousand nine. Check it out.
(35:23):
It's called Earth. That's it all right, Let's get into
the three things we need to know here on Earth Day,
Gandhi year Up. What's going on? The man accused of
opening fire at a Colorado grocery store is now facing
forty three more charges. Police say the twenty one year
old gun down ten people last month, including a Boulder
officer who was the first to respond. The suspect was
(35:43):
arrested on the scene and remains behind bars without bail.
His new charges include attempted murder, assault, and having a
large capacity magazine. The district attorney will give an update
later this morning. The Indy five hundred is now set
to be the largest sporting event in the world since
the pandemic began. A pacity limit of forty percent will
be allowed, meaning one hundred and thirty five thousand fans
(36:04):
can watch next month's race in person. The Indianapolis Motor
Speedway has more than two hundred and fifty thousand grandstand
seats and typically hosts about four hundred thousand people On
race day. The crowd will be bigger than what was
seen at an Alabama football spring game just last weekend.
And finally we've mentioned this. It's Earth Day, but let's
talk about another planet. NASA is actually making history again
(36:25):
on Mars. It's using the Perseverance Rover to create oxygen
for the first time. The planet's atmosphere is ninety six
percent carbon dioxide, but an instrument called Moxie was able
to convert that oxygen this week, enough for a person
to breathe for about ten minutes. NASA says that this
technology could one day help astronauts breathe and create the
fuel needed for rockets to lift off and get them
(36:47):
back home safely to Earth. And those are your three things.
Look out Mars. Yeah, we're almost done with Earth. We're
coming to get you out. I gonna strip you of
all the nutrients you might have. Good luck. Let's take
a break. Your phone tap coming up after this. I
just think this whole thing is crap. In the Morning Show,
(37:11):
Elvis Duran's phone tap. We received an email, says dear Elvis.
We've got to get my friend Phil with a phone tap.
Here's Phil's story. He's got three credit to go to
graduate in Sunny College and plans to earn them at
a local school. Wouldn't it be great if someone called
from the dean's office? I hear, I see where this
is going to question some of the credits he's already earned.
(37:33):
I mean, should pottery be a legitimate three credit course.
He's a very respectful guy with a high boiling point.
So good luck. If you can get him, you can
get anyone. All right, This comes to us from Daphne.
Thank you, Daphne. Now Scary is going to play the
part of the Sunny Dean while Daphne listens in as
they could screw up Phil's future in college. Listen it. Hello, Hello,
(37:56):
film Honeston. Please, this is Frank Palumbo here here University.
How are you doing today? I'm pretty good? How are
you doing? I'm the newly appointed dean here and it's
my job to clean up the records of the last
person who left in May. Now, I saw a couple
of red flags when your name came up in my computer.
I haven't completed my degree yet, but right now says here,
(38:16):
you took a few courses during the summer session. Well,
the first two classes I took six week intro to
will throwing in pottery. At this time, we don't deem
pottery a valid course or credit towards diploma. Wow. Yeah,
so instead of the three credits, aout to make up
six anywhere I can appeal that, trying to make us
(38:38):
sort of a argument against it. Oh, let me check
my guide sheet here for reference. A. No, in the past,
students have went through the same classes I took in
last summer. I've gotten in three credits and it's only
now that the job. So you just figured that you
just take classes that didn't mean much. I didn't go
in there with that mindset. Well, well maybe a little
bit of your mind thought that, right, that's not the
case at all. Well you know some you didn't slect
(39:00):
the slack off that way, and they like to take pottery.
Well I needed our studio and there's only our studios
available pottery. Yeah, yeah, it must be nice. Hold on
one second. Yeah, I got this underachiever on the phone.
He didn't graduate. He's missing credits. He's one of those
slacking kids that they think they could just get by
by taking a pottery course, you know, or take gym
(39:21):
or something like that. Waste my time. Let's squeeze some
more money out of this embacy. Hello. You know I
just heard everything you just said. I've heard every every
word you just said in the other conversation. What do
you mean that? The tone of it and the man
that your voice sounded like you regarded me as some
kid that was just like, Yeah, he's one of those
kids that's sun the slack off taking pottery or gym
(39:43):
or something to graduate. And you know, I don't don't like,
I don't appreciate that. I mean, you don't know my
motivations or anything like that. You know, I'm gonna try
to I'm trying. I'm trying to appeal this, you know,
this thing to you, like it doesn't appeal to me
one bit. I took nineteen credits in the fall semester,
and then I dropped it down to twelve because there
was so much my plague, what it was? It too
much for you do? Do you know? Do you do?
(40:05):
You know what I went through? Who accepted you into
our school? Anyway. Yeah, missus, the missions departments like admitted
me into the school. They must have been drunk that day.
Did you even know why they let me in? No?
Why do they let you in? Why? Why did you
did you? Do you even know what you're saying? What
they must have been drunk. You can't make that statement.
You know what many professors are appeal to. I said,
can I cannot do anythingnessudy, please please sucking earn these
(40:27):
last three credits. So you're sucking up to the professors.
The professors no, not to credits and confidence that their
worth three credits. And now all of a sudden afterwards,
I'm told you have to spend more money on credits. Yea,
he has to come all way up here. I believe it.
I mean, you're you're representing, You're representing this university. So
what are you saying to me? What is the university
saying to me right now? This saying to me, I
don't care, Sorry, we got your money and you're done.
(40:49):
I can't believe you're saying this to me right now.
I tell it like it is. I'm the new school.
So you're saying since September when you got there, that
who doesn't care about the stewents anymore. No, they might,
but I don't. You're representing them. They hired you represent them.
So I'm gonna go down. I'm I'm gonna write wherever
I'm writing, how many letters, I'm gonna go wherever I
can do to tell them that this is how I'm
being treated. You know what I'm saying. Once once, once,
once you got my money. Hey, so long when I'm
(41:11):
to alumni, when I'm to fan, when i'm the community,
Well I have to you've got those letters in the man,
because we're gonna need your money. Then it's it's you're
getting off of it. If you're enjoying this, huh, then
you're gonna going lunch break. You're gonna eat some lunch
and be like, oh okay, yeah, I gotta you know,
let me tell you about this kid. And I heard
you in the back. Now get least get his money. Yeah,
I didn't get his money. If you think about money, money, money,
This university, sir, is a business like any other. I
(41:34):
understand that. But you guys, I mean, then you're talking
about false advertisement. Then I'm being honest with you, that's all.
And you know he's sitting here laying a guilt trip
on me. I'm not laying a guilt trip with you.
I'm telling you my father's story. I'm telling you why
you should appealed this and allow me to have these credits.
All right, Well, you know who I'm gonna I want
to peel this too, is my boss, Elvis Durant, because
you've been phone tapped. Daphne's on phone. It was her idea. Wow,
(42:03):
I'm gonna kill you. You're good man, You're really good man.
Have an idea for a phone tab. Go to Tellstran
dot com, click on the phone tab tab, tell us
what you want to do. This is a tablets pre
recorded we permission granted by all party strits phone tabnet
in the Morning show. Wow, that would have been a nightmare.
(42:25):
Someone actually send a text in saying that that phone
tap was real in their life. They were told a
week before graduation they didn't have enough English one oh
one credits and couldn't grab You're like you get up
to the finish line, They're like, tackle so weird. Next
week we bring back free money phone taps worth a
thousand dollars every single day thanks to our friends at
(42:45):
DELONGI next week you're gonna win. Hey, so um went
to the doctor, got my blood results from my Did
you guys care to hear how your your supreme your
supreme leader is doing and physical give us the rundown,
let us know, talk to us about your coleress. Oh wow.
(43:05):
Blood tests show normal kidney function, liver function. Wow, I'm
my liver functioning, my livers, liver function, blood counts, thyroid
function all good, blah blah blah, fasting than them, No diabetes,
no pre no sign of pre diabetes. Wow. Prostate cancer.
Testosterone levels all normal in the screening test. Cholesterol has
increased further, as it has done every single year. But
(43:30):
is it the good cholesterol or the bad cholesterol? Well,
she says, I have good cholesterol in there, that's good,
and I have bad cholesterol in there. She's saying, hello,
low fat, high fiber, diet less chocolate, less cheese, red meat,
fried foods, ice cream, baked goods, and processed foods. More
fresh good stuff. It's more fresh fruits, vegetables, beans, whole grains, oatmeal, poultry, fish.
(43:51):
All right, That's why I'm having salmon for breakfast. Please
don't salmon shame me. I love it. Good for you.
In terms of vitamin testing, iron is show a little deficiency,
which could be due to some heartburn medicine. I'm taking
some indigestion medicine, medicine medicine, so I'm not absorbing my
iron the way I should be. My favorite, she's suggesting,
(44:15):
this is the summer for a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. Okay,
loop them up and get them out. Vitamin D levels
are low, so I called Alex last night and told
him I need more D yes and my favorite partner,
I announced this earlier. Your test positive for the COVID
spike antibody is showing it's indicating successful vaccination. So she
(44:40):
saw my spike. She says, it's nice and big and juicy.
Bone density, my bone density and some parts of my
body starting to deteriorate. The bone density in the hip
and lumbar spine are stable, and there's been a little
decrease in the left forearm, So I guess I should
start using that arm, if you know what I'm saying.
All right, she says, once again, you need D Hello, Yeah,
(45:03):
most people need D you know. Yeah. In the summary,
she's like you've gained weight during the pandemic. You need
to lose this mini pounds. Cholesterol has gone further up,
your blood pressure is stable, you have a slight loss
of bone density, calcium, maybe vitamin D get in there,
(45:23):
and your iron is a little low, but you're not
an emic. But anyway, there you go. So I think
I'm gonna live another year. I think so that's a positive.
I hope anyone and everyone listening to the sound of
my voice has a relationship with her doctor like I
have with mine. She is literally my life saver, right,
She's amazing. And if you don't, if you can talk
(45:44):
to friends and find a friend who loves their doctor
and move on over if you can, if they're room
for you, it's very important. What else? What else you're
gonna talk about health? Anyone? I'm going to see my
doctor today, talk about it, Froggy, what's going on? I'm
going to see doctor Hoe today. I'm brain surgeon because
he wants to do this six month checkup to make
sure the clip that he placed on my aneurism is
(46:06):
working properly in a state. And then, of course, I
don't know if I've talked about this or not. But
I have a second anneurism, and so they're going to
measure that one again today and see if it's grown
any If it has, it'll be something we have to address.
If it hasn't, and it will be something we continue
to monitor. So I'm going to see him today. So
checkups are great. I used to put this stuff off.
I will never put it off again after what I
(46:27):
learned last night, never ever, ever, ever, So yeah, always
check up, check up, and do more checkups. Anyone else
health wise? What about you, Nate, because you're you've had
several strokes, heart attacks and things. Well, you know, when
you're like froggyar myself, where you have a lot of issues,
you kind of know what is an issue and what
isn't an issue. But right now I have something that
(46:47):
might be an issue, but I'm not sure. So I've
been a couple of months ago, we went skiing and
I fell down and there's this part on my spine
that hurts like to the touch, and I haven't gone
to a doctor for it. I keep thinking it'll just
get fine, you know, I get better. Okay, I don't know.
Does anybody know what that might be? Did? It hasn't
gotten better. I think we should go get it checked.
(47:09):
What do you think. Yeah, it may mean nothing, but
you need to. But it needn't be nice to know, right, Gandhi,
how are you doing? Have you been to get your
check out lately? Doing pretty well? Actually, I just gotta
check up maybe a month ago, a little bit over
a month ago, and I we talked about this, but
it's like such a good feeling to know that you're
doing okay, or if there's something that they need to address,
(47:32):
that they can address that they found it early and
you can just move forward. I always feel great after
a checkup. I highly recommend it. People are afraid they
think if you get a check up, that's gonna make
you sick. All right, Danielle, let's go as we get
into your Danielle Report, how are you? How's your health
going good? Well? You know, I had thyroid cancer like
seven or eight years ago, so I go regularly to
(47:53):
see the thyroid doctor, like every six months, and then
my mom a Graham. Of course, because I'm a higher
risk of breast cancer they found out, so I make
sure I'm on top of that and I try to
go at the end of the year so that I
always remember, like it's at top of mine. It's either
I would go at the beginning of the year or
the end of the year, you know what I mean,
just to make sure I, you know, get it all done.
So excellent, all right, So we may be gon for
(48:13):
a little while longer. Maybe not. I don't know, Danielle,
what are you going on? All right? So we talked
about Prince Harry's trip to the United Kingdom for Prince
Philip's funeral, and there were all these mixed reports like
did he talk to Prince Charles, that he talked to
Prince William, Like what went down with Prince Harry, We
don't know. Well, Harper's Bazaar, who has a source that's
(48:34):
close to the family, says he actually did talk to
who he needed to talk to. He was able to
also give the Queen a special birthday gift because he
loves her so much. So they did say that the
trip did have some positive things that came out of it,
So there you go. According to People magazine, Jennifer Lopez
and Alex Rodriguez ended their relationship because of her she
didn't think it was in her best interest to stay
(48:56):
with him. Apparently there was a trust issue. Too many
unrest issues going on there, and she has been miserable lately,
is what that they were saying, and that she finally
just decided she needed to move on Vegas. Their annual
Electric Daisy Carnival has been postponed. It was supposed to
be Wednesday. I mean it was supposed to be May
twenty first to the twenty third. Now it will be
(49:16):
October twenty second to the twenty fourth. The reason is
Clark County is requiring sixty percent of the population to
be vaccinated in order to have large scale events like this,
So we gotta wait and see what happens with that,
if that happens. Olivia Rodrigo, she is talking about her
new album that's on the way. You know that it's
(49:36):
called Sour and she said that the sound is very
close to Atlantis Morrisset's Jagged Little Pill, if you remember
the sound of that album when it came out back
in the day. And speaking of Olivia Rodrigo, she loves
Cardi B. She recently said that Cardi B is actually
what gives her inspiration. Her songwriting is what gives her
(49:57):
the courage to say whatever she wants. So do you responded,
she took to social and she said, you're doing so
good for your age. Don't let no toxic bleep get
to you, and don't let nobody restrict you from your voice.
So they are fans of each other's, which is very nice.
Arianna Grande on the Weekend, their remix of his songs
Save Your Tears comes out tonight at midnight. A lot
(50:18):
of people are excited about that one. And on television
there's a lot today. First of all, you have the
normal stuff Grays Young Sheldon, Law and Order, SVU, Organized Crime,
and some I'm keeping up with the Kardashians. But it
is Earth Day, so Facebook Watch gives you at twelve
noon Eastern Earth Day, the musical. Netflix has Life and
Color with David Attenborough. Hulu gives you Greta Tumberg's A
(50:39):
Year to Change the World. Disney Plus has Secrets of
the Whales. So there's a lot of things that you
may want to check out today. And Ali, who you know,
is our web guru. She is loving Cruel Summer over
on Ulu. She said, it's produced by Jessica Bielle and
it's awesome, so you may want to check it out.
And that is my Daniell little point things to do
on Earth Day, in addition to what you were just
talking about. Recite it's so easy, you know how to
(51:02):
do it. Turn off your lights, tuning to leave a room,
It's so easy. Remember to take your reusable bags when
you go to the store. Flatten those cardboard boxes, bring
your reusable water bottle, avoid using plastic, walking, biking somewhere
instead of driving. Avoid single use items in general. Donate
clothing other items so someone else can use them again.
Eat food you bought at the store without wasting any
(51:23):
Grow your own produce because here it comes for a
lot of people. It's produce growing time. And do what
we do on our show. Recycle old jokes. Use them
over and over and over. Yes you don't know the
atmosphere ye oh no, use we use the same old
jokes over and over and over. It is cold recycling
absolutely uh And there you have it all right, Any
(51:45):
of the thoughts before we take a break. Hey, when's
Harry coming on? The President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Lines? Anyone? Oh?
I think for another in another hour. Okay, Yeah, we
thought it'd be great, since you know we have this
wonderful relationship with Norwegian Cruise Line and getting the president
(52:05):
and CEO Harry Summer on is very important because we're wondering,
like when's it open? People want to go cruising. I
you know, you may not be ready and that's totally fine,
but there are people who are wanting to at least
hear what they're doing. What steps are they taking to
make it safe to hop on board a beautiful ship
and go somewhere. Well, they have a plan, definitely, they
(52:28):
have a plan. So we'll talk to Harry about that
coming up in about an hour. All right, let's take
a break. We're back after day. Thank you, yall, listen
you every morning. Let's Gillstrand in the Morning Show. Hey,
it's Gary Jones. State Farm is the real deal when
it comes to car and home insurance for personalized service
and an award winning easy to use mobile app just
(52:50):
part of what makes their rates so surprisingly great. So
when you want the real deal, like a good neighbor,
State Farm is there. The Elvis Duran Show is that
good friend and he's hilarious. The Morning Show is You
gets you moving a little bit? Morning Show show. Yeah,
(53:16):
it's Oscar week this Sunday night the Academy Awards. So
we've got some games this week thanks to Gandhi. Today
we're gonna do Oscar winners for Best Picture. So are
you in total movie Gate? Do you know best pictures?
I mean, you have a lot of them on here
from recent days, but I see one that came out
(53:36):
the year after I was born. Yet that's an old one.
I would get it anyway. So if you know your movies,
don't try to fool Nate. You can't fool a fool.
As they say, Um, he'll know if you're bluffing. So
call Nate now if you want to win some money.
Oscar winners one eight hundred, two two zero one hundred
(53:58):
These were all best pictures. So these are the big
ones throughout the years of the Oscars. One eight hundred
and two for two zero one hundred. What's your cat doing?
Your your your cat slithering around? So they never visit
me this much, especially Diggie. But I'm eating a honey
butter chicken biscuit from Wendy's and Diggie's like, oh Mom,
I smell that chicken. I'm coming over. What you're eating? What?
(54:22):
Oh honey butter chicken biscuits? Oh my god, when I
tell you, it takes a lot for me to eat
before a certain time in the morning, and it is
the most insane thing I've ever put in my mouth. Honey, butter, chicken, biscuit. Yep, yeah,
all those works together are great. Oh gosh, scary. You
seem to be wiping your chops. Did you get one
(54:43):
from you? Did you get one too? They said one
to me too. The way that the sweet and the
salty mixed together is so beautiful. I don't know what
that effect is called in your mouth. I just call
it delicious. It's called good. Yeah. And did you have
one too? Straight mame, No, I'm on a diet today.
But lying you're lying and you're fed one? Oh maybe maybe?
(55:05):
Oh my god, god, did you get one? Absolutely? This
is like one of the best perks ever when we
get this food and it's delicious and we can actually
talk about something that tastes really good and it's not
a lie. This is great. My kids are salivating upstairs.
They kept texting me, mom, when's it coming, when's it coming?
It's finally here. They're so happy. Did you have one? Well?
(55:25):
I had one and a half half. Somebody they send you.
Oh that was two, but um, somebody ate the other half.
I left it. I went into the kitchen and I
ate it and like left half to come back in here,
and I went back to get its. Oh that was
so good, Like, okay, that was my half a biscuit. Okay, okay,
So Froggy, you're the food news director, so you have
(55:46):
to take you have to cover the story. So it's
from Wendy's, right, what is it exactly? It sounds unbelievable.
It's the Wendy's honey butter chicken biscuit. It's only a
dollar ninety nine for a limited time right now at Wendy's.
And it is so good, the flaky biscuit and a
little bit of honey right on the chicken. It's really good.
But I was wondering something was amiss because I saw
(56:07):
Danielle's cats like crawling over her head the video of them,
They're all over me. I'm like, you're not getting any
I'm sorry sharing. Do you ever wonder, Danielle and other
cat lovers? And I have had cats in my life
and often on in my life as well, have you
ever wonder how much your cat is like but holding
(56:28):
your furniture. Oh, they are but holing everything. He butt
holds my computer when I'm okay here. Well, so there's
a sixth grader. I found the story for you. You
cat lover. A sixth grader in Tennessee that ran an
experiment for a science fair project where he he he
put lipstick on his cats anuses turned check to see
(56:51):
where the cats parts are touching surfaces. Yeah, like beds
and couches and whatever. So his name is Kayden Griffin, genius.
He decided to do God's work and tackle this question
for his for his science fair part find out. His
project is called does your cat's butthole really touch all
(57:12):
the surfaces in your home? Sounds like something you named Danielle. Yeah, totally. Anyway,
he rans the experiment. He puts a non toxic lipstick
on his cats butts and then keeping track of where
that lipstick showed up in the house. The results are
this ready. Yeah. Number one, cats with long and medium
hair didn't make any contact with hard or soft surfaces.
(57:37):
Cats with short hair didn't make contact with hard services.
But there were smears of lipstick on soft surfaces like
bed sheets. Oh smears. But so I love this story though,
So the good news is your cat isn't dragging their
butt all over your house. But if you have a
short haired cat not everything is safe. So now we know.
Thank you. I really hope Kayden's mom didn't use that
(57:59):
lip stick. After Yeah, what's scary. A buddy of mine
wakes up with his cat on his forehead every morning,
so his cat is butt holing his forehead. So he's like,
he should see there's any lipstick on his forehead. There
you go crazy, all right? And uh, speaking of food news,
Froggy has food news coming up. What time do you
(58:21):
have food news? What time are we doing food news?
Nate he within the hour toward the end. Okay, well
did you hear about the lasagna with a layer of
mac and cheese? Oh? Hello? After, I know this is
too much. This is too much, after especially hearing the
report from my doctor I need to lose weight because
of my COVID weight. They're stofers, you know, the frozen
(58:42):
food company. They revealed their lasagna mac. It's a normal
slice of lasagna, except the middle layer is macaroni and cheese.
It's for a limited time only, probably because the people
who eat it are gonna die. I don't know, it
could be great. I was just saying that that's not
really really true. But anyway, I just think that's they're
(59:04):
taking it way too far. But this is what I'm
going to try. How many of you bake your bacon
rather than fry it on a pan? Oh No, I
would have never even thought about that. I always baked
bacon because it really it's it's less mess and it
comes out nice and crisp. It's it's unbelievable bacon. I've
got a question what this week, I'm planning on making
(59:25):
like a penny vaka with peas, and I want to
throw some bacon in. Ye, So should I put it
in the oven? Will a crisp up and I'll be
able to crumble it. You'd go online and just just
look up baked bacon. I mean, the recipe is easy.
You throw it on three fifty and put it in
for whatever. But now they're saying the way to crisp
your bacon even more in the oven is to twist it.
So rather than having a flat slice of bacon, you
(59:48):
twist both ends opposite directions. Yes, and this is on TikTok.
I saw this last night. You saw this. I saw
my mom do it one time. So my mom does
that when she makes bacon, she just takes it and
leaves it on a sheet and put something down on
it so it doesn't I'll stick to the pan. And
then she puts it in the oven. But I did
see her do that one time. She had like the
one end was up and she twisted the other end
(01:00:08):
so it just had like a roll in it, and
it did. It cooks that way, but it comes out
much more evenly cooked on both sides. Yeah, I know,
scary was today years old. This go to Oh look,
people are pulling up to Wendy's right now and getting
your breakfast salwich. Go to a TikTok or whatever. Do
(01:00:31):
a search for twist bacon. You know bacon twisting. I
don't know. Try. I can't wait. I can't wait to
eat more bacon. Great, all right, it is Oscar Week?
Is it time? Is it time to get into the
Oscar winner for the best picture? Are you satisfied with
our contestant today? Have faith? Let's meet Shannon, a pre
(01:00:55):
K teacher from Long Island, also a mom of two kids.
You are a hero on so many different fronts. Shannon doing.
Thank you the show. Welcome to the show. How have
you been listening? Oh my gosh, Um sends. I was
a teenager on high school and yeah, this is our
I know, but you're teaching now, and you know, teachers
(01:01:16):
are our heroes. Thank you so much for what you do.
Thank you. You guys are mine. You guys are amazing.
You know we've been here for twenty five years. This
is our twenty fifth year. All right, So Shannon, are
you a movie geek? Do you think you can figure
out some of these titles for Oscar winners for Best
Picture over the years. I am very good at movies. Um.
I have been known to have full conversations just using
(01:01:37):
movie lines. I think I can people going to be
I'm not going to be one of those people that
yell in their cars. Okay, I've a friend. I have
a friend, David Katz, who always gives lines from movies
and he gets mad if you don't know what you're
talking what he's talking about. But I don't know you're
(01:01:57):
one of those. All right, here we go, Shannon, here's
how this works? Or first of all, how did you
get the sound for these movies? Gandhi? I just so
I looked up the Oscar winners from the past however
many years, and I tried to find the ones that
had identifiable lines or based on the sound we got,
you could figure out what the movie is. So there
will be clues in the audio for you. Because I
(01:02:17):
know that this can be kind of tough, and it
is going to be kind of tough, so good luck.
All right, Channon, this is how this works. With every
Oscar winning Best Picture you correctly identify, you win ten dollars.
With each one that you miss, you lose ten dollars,
so frankly, and that's that's why Nate asked for your
credit card information at the beginning, so if you lose money,
(01:02:38):
we will charge your card. Here we go. It's now
time for Oscar winners for Best Picture. Here is Oscar
winning movie number one. Yes, final answer, he amis computer
Jay Luck Yeah? Gi okay? Did you hear a Not

his Windy's Honey butter chicken sandwich. Could you please pay
attention to us. We're doing a show Love You Love

(01:03:32):
that one? Austar for Best Picture? That one. I hear
airplanes in the backgrounds. I am not really sure. It
sound like another language. Uh, top Gun, Top Gun was
done in Spanish. Actually, it's interesting you say that the
(01:03:53):
airplanes you heard in the background were what we call
sound drones that they use on a little show called
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? That movie was Slumdog Millionaire.
Did you ever see that? It was a great movie?
I have? Yes. Yeah. Does this mean she owes us money? Yeah,
she owes us ten dollars. This is great. It's okay,
(01:04:14):
you have a lot more to go. Here we go, Shannon. Here,
here's Oscar winning Best Picture number two. There you go.
He came walking up to a checkpoint, said he had
a bomb strap to him, but he's sorry. Then he
starts begging us to take it. Awful, this man, he's
not a bad man. He's not a bad man. He
got a bomb strap tool? Wow, eleven years ago? Big movie?
What was it? Oh my gosh, I really have no
(01:04:35):
idea about life. I'm really scary. Wait till she answers
before you have no idea? Why? No? Okay, that was
the hurt locker, which is that one I did not seek?
It's okay, here was twenty dollars, No big deal. Here
here is Oscar winning Best Picture? Number three? Look there
a ratting neal unit. That is a fact, all right
(01:04:58):
with queenan He's not here. When you had cameras in
the building, they knew everything, all right. There was a
leak from the inside. It's real, man, smoke him out? Yeah,
how do we do that? Let it slip to SIU
that you have a sealed wyattap warn't for Costello's apartment. Wow?
Oscar winning Best Picture two thousand and seven. I wasn't
even I didn't watch that one. What movie was that?
Do you know? Um? With my leading man Leonardo Dicabrio
(01:05:22):
is at the Departed? Absolutely, you got it. I'm so
so relieved. Now you only owns ten dollars. All right,
here we go, Oscar winning Best Picture? What movie is this?
Number four? Prohm? Is this the only thing I ever
felt good doing? If I'm too old for this, then
I got nothing that enough truth to seach you. This
(01:05:48):
Year's speed Bag. That was an Oscar winner. What movie
was it? Oh, my gosh, I can't pinpoint the title.
I feel I got to see this movie. Oh, I
can't think of it as of my ads. Not on
my tongue right now? All right? That was million Dollar
(01:06:09):
Baby who was in the um? Yeah, I just can't
put I couldn't put it on the tongue. This. This
is a harder game than you thought. Then it's a
harder game than we thought. But that's okay. You're only
behind twenty dollars. You always twenty dollars. All right, here
we go, Oscar winning picture number five? Oh yeah, what
(01:06:40):
an Oscar for Best Picture? What was it? I love
the soundtrack? Broadway It's Chicago, got absolutely big money. Now
you're only always ten dollars. Damn it? All right? One
of my favorite films of all time. It won Best
Picture as well. What movie is this from? Freed Rick Louisa? Yeah,
(01:07:12):
a lot of kids in that movie. What movie was it? Um?
You always talk about your movies, and I usually have
seen them. I can't think. Um, Oh, the slush is
really hard. I can't think of Some of these are old,
these lookodies and I just can't think of the names.
Um uh the Annie, that's okay? That was that was
(01:07:41):
the sound of music. I thought it maybe Miss Hanigan.
All right, you know what, here's the thing. You've seen
lots of films, Shannon, I get it all right. Here
is another Oscar winning film. What film is number seven? Jack?
I want you to draw me like one of your
French girls wearing this, all right, wearing only this? Oh
(01:08:06):
what film was that? That's another great one, Titanic. You
got it, absolutely nine Best Picture. You are now just
down ten dollars, which makes me mad. I wanted I
need to cash all right, this this film number eight,
It won an Oscar for Best Picture as well, for
(01:08:26):
one touch, just one touch? Un back here until then
they may take on one but the famous line from
that Oscar winning movie what was it? Very famous? And
again these are so like they're oldies, but goodies maybe
(01:08:49):
before my time. And I cannot take of the name.
I've said that line before, okay, from nineteen ninety six.
That's braveheart, braveheart, right, all right, it's okay, Yeah, it's okay.
Don't be disappointed. You're you're you know a lot of
people can't get any of it now you only always
twenty bucks here. I bet you get this next one.
(01:09:10):

days on Trump come up creole. So many ways to
eat shrimp in this film? What was it? My favorite actor?
Tom Hanks? That's fourth dump? You see see what you
(01:09:35):
did there? You're now Danielle is sell of a horn.
You now only it was ten dollars? Here is Oscar
winning Best Picture number ten? Doesn't think we're just going
to walk out in India. Yes, in the end, you
will walk out because one hundred thousand Englishmen simply cannot
(01:09:58):
control three hundred and fifty million Indians if those Indians
refused to cooperate. And that is what we intend to achieve.
Okay from nineteen eighty three Best Picture? What was it? Three? Okay?
That would I was born? So? Um, I cannot it
sounds like something with like a war movie. Um, I'm
not sure. I don't think I've ever heard this line before.
(01:10:19):
I'll give you a clue. Yea. She is a co
host on this show and the movie was about her
great great grandfather the same thing. Yeah, you figure that out. Gandhi,
(01:10:40):
what a beautifully done does your Does your family like
that movie? Yes, yes, they actually do. There is another
movie called Gandhi My Father, which is about the branch.
I come from a little different story than the one
that won the Oscar. There you go. You're now even Shannon.
You don't owe us any money. We don't owe you
any money. We can. Let's keep going. Here is Oscar
(01:11:02):

I hate how he's his key ante. I know what
makes that sound. And your biggest problem is yeah, talking
about making out with someone? All right, Oscar Winning Picture
number twelve. What is the name of this film? Never
never touches during real when I'm driving? Do you hear me?
(01:11:48):
Do you hear me? I don't my underwear what I'm

(01:12:11):
trying to think. I'm not sure that is Ramow. What
a great movie, Raymond, Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise correct, Yes, absolutely, Rainman.
So that means we're even again. Oh this is good, okay, good.
I love that we could just walk away, you know,
even all right, here we go. This is a big film,
and it may have been before your time, but it
(01:12:31):
was a huge film. This is Oscar winning Best Picture
number thirteen. I just want to say to my wife's home,
all right, famous steps in Philadelphia, famous movie, famous movie.
(01:12:55):

stop it Rocky? All right? There you go? All right
here kind the last two films, and they are older films.
(01:13:15):
This next one is iconic, an iconic Oscar winning Best
Picture film. What film is this? You don't off you
don't even think they call me? GODFA sent you coming
to my household? And then my daughters to be murried,
and you asked me to go murder? All right? What
film is that? That would be The Godfather. I'm so
(01:13:42):
glad you got that. We have one more left, and
you've got to you have to channel your inner gay man.
I see if you can tell me which oscar winning
Best Picture? This is from the nineteen sixties. Good luck
here it is. I would right to be if I
like same as you woman who watched as such disgusting
(01:14:03):
and depressing noise. There has no right to be anywhere,
no right to live? Okay, so harsh? Do you know it? Um?
I don't think so. I'm trying to pinpoint the phrase.
I don't think I can put it to my mind,
though I don't. I'm not sure i've seen that movie.
I'm sure if you're some music, maybe it would be different.
(01:14:24):
But that from that is from my fair lady. Great.
But anyway, guess what? But guess what? And of all
of that, all of that strife and hard work, you
have just won ten dollars you actually, ye, Shannon, I
gotta tell you, this is one of those games is
(01:14:46):
so much more difficult when you're playing it than you
know if you're just driving around listening to it. But
thank you so much for listening to us. Thank you
for being an award winning pre K teacher on Long
Island and a mom of two kids and listening to
us since you were a kid. T dollars. Man, it's
better than nothing. It's on the way. Okay, thank you
so much. Thank you guys. Have a great day, you too.
Hold on, don't hang up because you at least have
(01:15:08):
to take the ten dollars. Do you think she'd be
like one of the people like it's not worth it?
Good by clicks? Oh my gosh. Anyway, there you go,
the Oscars, of course, the Academy Awards this Sunday night.
Let's get into the three things we need to know. Gandhi,
thank you for putting that game together for us. No problem.
Next time, I'll try to come up with easier, all right.
(01:15:28):
The twenty year old man killed by Minnesota police is
being laid to rest today. The funeral for Dante Wright
will be held in a Minneapolis church less than two
weeks after an officer shot him during a traffic stop.
She reportedly mistook her gun for a taser. She is
charged with manslaughter. The shooting set off national protests and
happened during the nearby trial for ex cop Derek Chauvin,
(01:15:48):
who was convicted Tuesday of killing George Floyd. The White
House says that those who are fully vaccinated in the
US can expect some new recommendations from the CDC in
the near future. White how Senior advisor Andy Slavitt said
he's hopeful that in the next couple of weeks the
agency will release more relaxed guidelines for Americans who have
been fully vaccinated. He added that the new rules will
(01:16:09):
be based on science, and at the same time, at
least one hundred and fifty countries are now on the
state departments do not travel list because of the coronavirus
and growing numbers. And finally, we've been talking about it
all morning, but it is Earth Day. President Biden is
celebrating this Earth Day by pledging to cut US greenhouse
gas emissions in half by twenty thirty. He'll make it
official during today's Global Climate Summit. More than forty world
(01:16:33):
leaders are set to take part in the two day
virtual gathering. President Biden also intends to signal a renewed
commitment to lead the global fight against climate change. After
the previous administration played down the threat for four years.
And those are your three things. Interesting conversation on the
way our friend Harry Summer, he is the president and
CEO of Norwegian Cruise Lines. We thought we'd take it
directly to the top and ask him what are you
(01:16:54):
guys doing to get ready to put people back on
ships and out to see And they have done a
lot of work. It's interesting because no matter where you
plan on traveling, and remember what you plan on doing
when you want to travel. You know, I'm sure a
lot of hotels resorts are going to follow the same
guidelines that Norwegian is going to be following as well.
Wait till you hear what he has to say. We're
(01:17:14):
going to talk to him and talk about cruises. They're
already taking reservations for now. We'll talk to him. Give
forward to a thirty minutes. Listen, thirty minutes. I guess sure, yes,
Thanks thanks for having me out. Everyone, all right, listen,
let's take a break. We'll be back after this text
message just coming through. We were smoking a bowl of
(01:17:35):
pots the back of the bus and I caught my
hair on fire. Stranded in the morning show This Mother's
Day a lock in your place as the Golden Child
by ordering Mom's bouquet early from one eight hundred flowers
dot com. Right now you can get thirty six swordbet
roses only thirty six dollars. If you want to order,

And also we've got sound with Garrett coming up straight
and Eate always absent, never around the senior executive producer.
(01:18:17):
Where is he? Where does he go? Oh? Um? He
was in the next room. They were talking. Scottie and
him were talking smacking what you cla, what are you
talking about? It there? Hit chat chit Chat says nothing, Well, well,
what are you talking crap about? No, we were talking
about our renovations because Scotti's also going through home renovations.
(01:18:40):
I'm sorry, Oh my gosh. So of course I love it.
You know, if a story breaks out of Florida, you
know it's got to be somewhat interesting. So uh. On Saturday,
guy named Courtney Wilson and a woman named Shanita Jones
we're getting being married in uh it's an area called
(01:19:02):
Southwest Ranches, Florida. You know where that right, frog? Absolutely,
I used to live less than a mile from there.
They threw their wedding at this amazing mansion has a
pool like a zebo, tennis courts, hot tub, an eight
hundred foot bar. I think it is a bowling alley.
The problem is it wasn't their mansion and they didn't
have permission to be there, right And on the the
(01:19:22):
invitation it said it was being held at the Wilson Estate,
which they named it after their last name, because the
guy who owns it had been trying to sell it
for a couple of years for like six million bucks whatever.
So the guy he toured the place a while back,
pretending he was interested in buying it, and he asked
the owner if he could have his wedding there, and
the owner said, no, you can't. Oh well, he must
have thought the owner didn't live there anymore, because he
(01:19:44):
and Shanida they put the address on their invitations and
they planned to hold the entire wedding weekend at this house.
Showing up, you know, ready for a wedding Saturday, and
the owner was there. He called the cob. He said,
I don't know. There's people trying to have a wedding
in my house. They say there they have a wedding,
(01:20:06):
and it's God's message that they were supposed to have
the wedding at my house. Oh my gosh. So the
cops came, the wedding cleared out, no charges were filed.
But can you imagine is coming home and someone just
living comfortably in your house just like, oh, yeah, we're
having our you know, we're having a family reunion in
your backyard. Find us. I would have been like, um,
how much is a two year to have the wedding here?
(01:20:27):
How much money are we? Anyway? As you know, we
really love hopping into our old school time machine. It
was thirty two years ago. Madonna's Like a Prayer was
number one. Wow Wow, thirty two years April twenty second,
nineteen eighty nine. That's about the time I started at
(01:20:48):
ZE one hundred, I do believe. And so that was afternoons.
Now we do mornings. Why are you laughing, Nate? It
just seems I don't know. I'm not saying you're old.
It just seems like such a long time ago that
you were doing No, I'm just am No, I'm a
I can't believe that we're like especially we're all still
doing this, you know what I mean? Yeah, I believe.
I can't believe you're still doing it because it very
(01:21:09):
well fire long ago. I love you, Nate, you know
I love charm of it all, making foot of Nate. Oh,
I'm kidding, Nate. Let's go around the room. As a
matter of fact, we'll start with you, Nate. I want
to see what's on your mind today. What are you feeling?
(01:21:30):
What are you thinking? Okay, well, remember when I talked
about the DMV and what nice people they are. Hold on,
who's at the door? The door? I think my Wendy's
chicken sandwich just arrives. That's that's worth stopping the show for.
You should go get that guy. I don't blame her.
(01:21:53):
That was funny. I'm sorry, Nate. Where we're are we? Okay? So? Remember? Sorry?
Something more interesting at the door? Adie actually is so
Remember I talked about going to the DMV and they
were so nice and just treat everybody nicely because they
may be having a worse day than you. Well, they
sent me my registration, but it's made out to the
wrong person, So technically somebody else owns my car right now, right,
But even still, through all of that, somebody made a
(01:22:15):
mistake and mistakes happen, So just realize that sometimes mistakes happen.
You've got to accept it, move on and just accept
their apology hopefully they give you one, and understand that
that happens. And you'll make a mistake too some days,
So just keep that in mind. I know. But according
to Dave Brodie, this is worth free dessert at the
dm fame is what they did is they made a mistake,
(01:22:37):
and people do make mistakes, but you're gonna have to
pay for it. You're gonna have to take time out
of your day to go to the DMV. What do
I do ask for? Like a free personalized playtime? Like
what do I get out of never have to stand
in line again? Very right? People do make mistakes. I
know we do all the time. Hey, producer Sam, what
Jeff for dinner last night? Oh? Last night was a
kebab night? I love it. You just stick all the
(01:22:57):
extra veggies you've gotten. You've got a cobob so good?
Oh don't sha beautiful vegetable kebobs? You don't listen to him.
All right, So what's on your mind today? So you
know how our taste buds apparently change every handful of years. Yes,
they do, I think every seven years. I've never experienced
(01:23:18):
that until just recently. You guys, I used to hate
oranges growing up. They were just disgusting to me. You'd burp,
you'd taste them the rest of the day, like didn't
like it. I think it's my new favorite food. I
just had one because it was around the apartment. I
was like, why not? And I don't know when it changed,
but it changed so severely. I am obsessed with oranges.
(01:23:38):
So you grew up hating. Please try it, do yourself
a favor. You might love it. You might throw up,
but you might love it. The payoff is huge. I
love oranges. That's off so good. I'm not trying mayo
though it's not happening. Okay, you've ever you used to
like something and now you don't. Your taste buds the
opposite direction. What Danielle mine is during pregnancy, and I've
(01:24:01):
never gotten over it. Plain grilled chicken. If the grilled
chicken doesn't have some kind of sauce all over it,
I get nauseous, and that's ever since pregnancy, and I've
never gotten over it. Yeah, my sun dried tomatoes. I
used to love him. Now I can't. You know I can,
but I used to love them. Now they're like whatever,
good Froggy. Yes, um as you as we talked about earlier,
(01:24:24):
and I know you. I'm going to the doctor today.
But I did something that I've made fun of people
for doing for so long, but now I've done it.
I made a list on my phone of all the
things I want to ask him. So when I see him,
I'm going to be going down my phone like, oh, question,
what question to get done? Efficiency? You're being efficient. I
have six questions to ask, Doctor Hoe. I'll get a question.
But then here's the problem, because here's where I always
(01:24:45):
get sidetracked. I asked the first question, and then that
leads me to another question. And I don't never get
my questions answered. So now I'm in a list. I'll
make sure to get everything answered today. There you go,
don't let him leve to. Your questions are answered, and
I'm sure to make a doctor Hoe. He will be
behind that. How's that honey buttered chicken biscuit? Going for
you there, Gandhi. Delicious and it came with iced coffee.
(01:25:06):
So hello, lady, having a good time. The potatoes are
delicious at that. What's on your mind today, Gandhi? Okay,
So yesterday I gave a little chat, a little talk
to Vault Communications in Philadelphia are very good friends. Smiling
Stephen works there now, and yeah, he's awesome. He was great.
He moderated the whole thing and I just did it
(01:25:28):
out of the kindness of my heart. And they hit
me with the greatest thank you gift ever by adopting
two elephants from my favorite wildlife trust, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
in um It's out over in Africa and it is wonderful.
So now I have two little baby elephants and they're
all mine, and that's the nicest thank you ever. So
I just wanted to thank them again, thank you all Communications,
(01:25:50):
because I'm adding to my herd. And it was so
so sweet. You know what. You know what else I
love about this conversation. I love that our own, our
little brother, Smiling Stephen has moved on and he uh,
he's in a whole new lane now and obviously he's
going to be very successful. Yes, oh, and he was
doing such a great job. It was so fun being
interviewed by someone who used to work with us and
(01:26:11):
talking about all the ins and outs of you know
what it is that we do over here. And it
was just such a cool program. And then I got
two elephants and I was just doped about it. So
I spent all day yesterday stocking them. I wish they
could meet my yaks that live in the Himalaya. Oh yeah,
you have some yaks up there. It was all of
our adopted animals. Maybe they can. They can take a
trip to the star that was given to me please.
(01:26:35):
A few hour old friend, bald Freak Ronnie moved to Nashville,
and I said, you know what, why don't we playing
little boys trip our old Brooklyn friends to go visit
him in Nashville. I'm so jealous. This weekend, I'm going
to see bald Freak Ronnie with all my Brooklyn friends
in Nashville. We're gonna hang out all weekend. I haven't
seen these guys over a year. I found a cheap flight,
(01:26:56):
jumped on and I called the people in Nashville and
they were like, hey, we just lifted our curfew too.
So we're back to go being open to three. You
called the people are your people? I called a couple
of hotels and restaurants. I said, so what's the capacity?
They said, oh, we're open for business, and they were
(01:27:16):
so wait tell bald freak Rannie. We love him. Yes,
I didn't know he moved to Nahville. Did I get everyone?
I think I got No, I didn't go, oh Danielle. Yeah,
So yesterday I think for the way back time machine. Also,
we played Prince because there was five years that we
had lost him. So yesterday I spent the entire day
with my headphones on listening to different songs from Prince,
(01:27:37):
old school, like really old school b sides, like stuff
that got me through college. I mean awesome, awesome, awesome music.
And if you've never listened to Prince, there is something
for everyone in his collection. He is just so brilliant.
So if you get a chance, I know, I heart
has a lot of stuff. You can also find it
all over the place. So take a little listen to
(01:27:58):
Prince you will find something you love. Excellent. That was
that sounded so good yesterday. So let's get into sound
with Garrett. Garrett. Yes, all right, what do you have today,
give us some more stuff. Joe Joe Exotic is willing
to make friends with Carol Baskin and her husband in
order for him to get out of jail. He did
a phone interview. You're gonna hear him. He does not
(01:28:18):
sound like the Joe Exotic we knew from a year ago.
Carol and Howards said they would bound to help me
get a part and I would support the big cast.
It is time for Carol Howard to put up the
hill because I'm accepting their offer. He still sounds very sassy,
I know, still sassy, but he does sound older though.
(01:28:38):
So Weezer has some new music out. This is called
I Need some of That Nice Some of that right
there sounds like Weezer, Yes, off their album Van Weezer
that's coming out. This is for Gandhi and Elvis. You
(01:29:00):
already heard this clip too, But Humpback Whale wanted to
sing for its friend, and this is what it sounds like.
Oh oh oh, I love that. I can listen to
(01:29:25):
that all days. We're gonna play it all day everybody.
I love that. I just love it. There we go now.
This has about five million views on YouTube from the
group Pentatonics. They do these montages from time to time
and they get a nineties dance medley. I heard it,
(01:29:45):
I got addicted to it, and I wanted to bring
it to you guys and better off alone. Right, yep,
(01:30:07):
we have to play that in our old school time
machine in a whole while, all right, and then I
want to do a throwback Thursday clot that I just
came across that is going to be about ten years old.
Or do you want to hold off on that? Uh no,
we can't. We have to take a break. We're gonna
do our We're gonna hop in a time machine in
just a little while. It's warming up out and it's
(01:30:28):
in the it's it's it's plugged in. It's electric because
it's an Earth Day. It's electric. It's it's it's a tesla. Anyway,
you're a great American. Thank you, Garrett. You're well. But
you did. You did give us some great ideas for
a a old school time machine. At least I could do.
At least I could do, I know, Thank you so much.
All Right, Look, Scary is gonna hop on a plane
go to Nashville this weekend. You're sitting there going gosh,
(01:30:49):
I want to travel along with two thirds of all
Americans who are ready to travel a lot of people
who listen to our show are huge fans of Norwegian
Cruise Lines and cruising on the best crew line out
there they have. They have ships gassed up and ready
to go for you. We're gonna talk about that in
a few minutes. And also Harry Summer, who's the president
and CEO of Norwegian, He's going to be on with
(01:31:10):
us to tell us what they're doing, aren't you all?
Aren't we all a little curious what they're doing on
these ships? Oh yeah, to make them safe so we
can go have some fun. Yeah, we'll talk to him
coming up after this. What's going on? Guys? Hey, what's up?
It's a girl Rihanna. Hi, this is Selena moment. Hey,
this is Taylor Swift and you're listening to Elvis Duran
in the Morning Show. If you're a business owner and
(01:31:33):
you're hiring, you probably faced a lot of challenges. Not
enough applicants or too many applicants, and none of them
have experienced That's why hiring can feel like trying to

unique place. Zip recruiter dot com, slash elvis. It's the
smartest way to hire. Storyan in the Morning Show, Hey,
I'm with you. I cannot wait to travel. I can't
(01:32:38):
wait to hop on a plane and fly to wherever
in the world and do our thing. And of course
we want to do it when it's safe, and of
course no one wants us there until it's safe. So
we thought we'd go to a very important person when
it comes to answering a question or two about travel safety.
Harry Summer, of course, is the President and CEO of
Norwegian Cruise Lines. As you know, we have our own ship,
(01:33:00):
Norwegian Bliss is all ours. I can't wait to get
back on board. So they're already ramping up, they already
have they already have some lines ready to go from
in the Caribbean and also over in the Greek Island,
and so you can't just hop on a ship though.
They have to obviously be going through a lot of
process to make it safe for everyone. So we thought
(01:33:21):
we'd go right to the source. Let's get into it.
Let's go into the Mercedes Benz Interview Lounge and talk
to the President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Lines, Harry Summer.
Here we go, please live in the Mercedes Interview Lounge,
and we say good morning, Harry Summer, welcome to the show, Elvis,
(01:33:42):
thank you so much for having us, and it's it's
great seeing everyone again. Well, as we were saying, Harry,
you know, two thirds of Americans are ready to travel
this summer and a lot of those of course love
cruising and they miss being on on Norwegian Cruise Line ships.
So let's talk about it. But where are you guys now?
(01:34:03):
Is it time to hop on board? Well, you know, Elvis,
first off, we absolutely wouldn't run a cruise unless it
was completely safe. So that is the first thing on
our list to provide our guests with safe cruising. You know,
we go on record as saying we wouldn't ask anyone
to come on a cruise that we wouldn't take our
own family on. And we think we're almost there, you know.
We set up a Healthy Saale panel over the summer
(01:34:25):
where we had leading experts in the industry put together
a series of recommendations on what would make cruising safe.
They came up with seventy four recommendations. Filtration testing, social distancing,
reduced documents, the all the stuff that you'd expect, plus more,
lots and lots of technical information. And we said, great,
we're gonna do it all. And then we were really
thrilled when vaccines started coming out in January February, we said, okay,
(01:34:48):
now vaccines are out there, We're gonna layer it on
the top. So all seventy four recommendations, double testing, plus
everyone on our ships will be vaccinated before we left
them on and all our crew as well. And we
think Elvis and that ronment it is incredibly safe. So
I'm telling you, like you know, I test these things
that I'm my wife right because while I'm the president,
(01:35:08):
should should we check out on her? And so if
she's okay, I may have her come and join as well.
And I said, Sharon's my wife's name, Sharon. I said,
what would it take for you to come on board?
And she goes, you just get everyone vaccinated and I'll
be there. I'm dying to go on a vacation, you know,
like everyone else. We've sort of been home together for
the last fifteen mostly good months, but it's time to
(01:35:29):
get out there and enjoy the world again together and
not to sort of sit in the dining room and
debt and living room all day and actually do something fun.
So she's in, We're gonna bring the kids and we
are going to have a great time. I'm sure I
heard from your wife. She says she's dying to get
back on the ship. As long as you're not there.
She quite this to an advanced level of what we're
(01:35:49):
already experiencing going out to eat two restaurants. I would think,
and this is just between us, now, would be the
best time to go on a cruise because you have
more facilities available, because I'm assuming less people will be
on board, correct, I think, Elvis, you haven't exactly right.
You know where we're gonna start. We're gonna start at
sixty percent. So imagine one hundred percent of the facility
is open for only sixty percent of our guests. So
(01:36:11):
it's almost like everyone has twice as much space and
facilities than they're used to. So you think about you know,
maybe it was a little hard to get a spot appointment.
Now you can get your spa appointment. You know, you
can get on off the ship really quickly. All the
specialty restaurants are going to be wide open for reservations.
I can get into Tea. Finally, I'm gonna be in Teppanyaki,
you know, Danielle for you, we can get you every
(01:36:32):
night and yeah, whoa, that's my place, by the way,
if you're just turning us on. Harry Summer, the President
and CEO of Norwegian cruise lines with us. We're talking
about getting back to see there are three ships, uh,
the Jade, Joy and Gem Jade of course the Greek Isles,
which I know Froggy's been on that cruise. Joy is
Western Caribbean and the Gem is Eastern Caribbean. And so
(01:36:55):
you will actually fly out to the Caribbean or fly
over to Europe to hop on board these ships. All right, guys,
we've got questions for Harry. What do you have When
is Hawaii opening back up? How are things opening for
You know, it's interesting Gandhi. You know, we pick these
three itineraries, you know, not as consolation prizes, but these
(01:37:15):
happen to be some of the most popular destinations in
the world. And you know, Greece is now open, I
think this week they announced they're open for American tourists
to come. We go, okay, that's the number one place
we want to go there, and we open that one
up first. Uh. You know, Caribbean is always our number
two destination on a year round basis. Uh. And you
know Americans love going to Punta Khana and Montego Bay.
(01:37:36):
They're their top two destinations in the Caribbean year in
and year out for Americans, and we said, okay, let's
start where people want to go. Yeah, the three there
on cl is Greek, Ausan, Caribbean. We're hopeful for Hawaii
and Alaska soon thereafter. So it's Harry speaking of of
our ship Bliss. Where is she? Who is taking care
of her and housing? Can we like see her and
(01:37:57):
get back on board? Where is she right now? I agree?
I'm Bliss. So you know, guys, even though she's brand new, right,
you know, we've taken this time while we've been out
of service to make her even better. So she's now
sitting in Europe and we got a crew on board
making sure that she is spit what is it sick?
Whatever that with that term, I'll say it that we're
(01:38:17):
completely clean and ready to go. So, you know, is
there a way to go online to find out more
about what you guys are doing, especially now with Jade,
Joy and Jim your introductory cruises for the new season,
is there a way to find out? Like, Okay, this
is the list. I can print it up and show
it to my other friends and family members so we
can all make some plans. Oh absolutely, Elvis, So you know,
you know, for us that the two most important things
(01:38:39):
is great experience in a safe experience. So you go
to our website, you know, NCL dot com, and there
there's a button there where it says, you know, what
are our safety protocols? Do you click on it and
it will take you through sort of a list of
everything we're doing, you know, safety for our guest and crew,
to give guests the full gamut of what we're doing
to make sure that they have a wonderful and safe vacation.
Lots of washy washie, it's going to be gone. Yeah,
(01:39:01):
we'll have the guy, We'll have the guys with the
spring cat making sure that your hands are clean singing.
I have to ask you, guys, which of you are
coming to Athens and which of you are coming to
montego back. I'm coming on? Oh can we say both? Yeah,
I'll be at bo so I'm happy to welcome you back.
Why do we have to choose just one? Yeah? Well,
(01:39:23):
you know, I'm gonna take my realistic approaches. I'm I'm
waiting for my ballist to come back, but I need
to know early so because it'll sell out. But let
me be there, guys. Yes, So let me tell you
about Jade, Joy and Jem. Jade is doing the Greek
Isles UH July twenty fifth, Joy doing the restern Western
Caribbean starting August seventh, and the gem is doing Eastern
(01:39:45):
Caribbean starting August fifteenth. I'm sure there are a lot
of different incentives and great reasons why you should check
out NCL dot com now and start talking to your
family and friends. Go on to NCL dot com and
UH and print up the of everything they've done. If
you're ready to go, that's the thing. People are ready
to get out, and there's a million and one different
(01:40:07):
decisions they could make as far as travel, but to
look and see all of the all the ends that
you've met, I think Norwegian is definitely something you should
put at the top of the list of consideration. I mean,
I would trust you more than you trusting me in
an RV driving across the Okay, across the gun. Is
(01:40:28):
there anything you want to add, Harry before we uh
we we let you go now, Elise, You guys have
been wonderful partners, you know, all of you and as
I was joking before we came on, but it's serious,
you know, Gandhi and Danyelle joined us for our International
Woman's Month on one of our series that we put
on during that month. They did a fantastic job on
female empowerment and and and and those things, and we
(01:40:50):
want to thank the two of them for what they've done.
But now taking the serious out of the way, we
want your listeners to have great vacations, so we welcome
and invite all of them to come back on. I'll
be the earth of my family and I look forward
to welcoming everyone. I'm bor. Thank you, Harry, Harry Summer
of course, president CEO of Norwegian cruiseally, thanks for coming
on with us. We hit perfect. His name is, It's
like Summer he was born into. It makes sense. Thank
(01:41:15):
you so much for your time today. Excellent. Thank you
for laying it all out for it. Oh my god,
I'm getting myself on the radio now. Okay, sorry guys show. Hey,
it's Elvis Durand. Yeah. It's been a tough year for
mental health. That's why gentle Mind is here to help out.
Geno Mind has developed an innovative new tool for groundbreaking
(01:41:37):
insights into your unique genetic predispositions. Go to mental HealthMap
dot com and be empowered on your mental health and
well being. Oh my god, you guys are in. This
is Elvis Durand in the Morning Show. Yeah, it is
Earth Day. You know what tomorrow is, Gandha, you're gonna
(01:41:57):
hate tomorrow. Oh no, is it kill the Earth Day? Okay,
tomorrow is Lover's Day. You're right, You're right. Gandhi hates
she detests the word lover. Just so old lady with
a doily soundings you see, I want to make love
(01:42:20):
to you so gross, I know it really is. What
are you doing? I'm going to come over and make
love to you. Are you and that Brandon boy friends?
Or are you are your lovers? Right? Love? What do
you do? I'm going to I'm going I'm going to
make love to you. You can't say it with no accent.
(01:42:44):
You have to add some sort of accent. Yeah, the
only way Tomorrow is a lover's day. Make your noise.
So if you missed out, if you missed out on
that boat on Valentine's Day, it's your chance for make good.
When you're in love, every day may seem like lovers Day,
but sometimes the people who are more shy and timid
need a little push to express their love and to
(01:43:06):
take that leap. Can you tell them reading this, some
people actually plan their weddings on Lover's Day sick, So
what do you do on Lover's Day? For starters, express
your love to that special someone in whatever way you
feel is appropriate. If nothing else, make sure you tell
the one you love that you do. They're not like that.
It's It's one thing to tell someone they let you
love them. It's another thing to say, I want to
(01:43:29):
make love to you. You tell them I love you,
my lover. I love you my lover. Oh god, are
you are a fantastic lover? So I feel like those
are all the things to say. If you don't want
to get laid for sure, what are we doing later?
I don't know what. I thought you could come up
and we could make love. What's scary? Somebody just texted
(01:43:54):
in we should play Shaggy. That could be our old
cool time. Yeah, yeah, it could be. I think it
should be. Anyway, let's get into Danielle. Danielle, you're ready
to go? Sure, okay, Zanielle. After you've done, I'm going
to come over and make love to you. Oh gross,
thank you. So you guys know the documentary framing Britney's
(01:44:17):
Beers did very well. So I told you the BBC
has plans for their own documentary. Well it is coming.
The Battle for Brittany fans. Cash on a Conservativeship is
sets a debut May first on BBC High Player, with
a BBC Two broadcast a following May fifth at nine
pm on BST And if you are a fan, you'll
find a way to watch it, because that's what you do.
(01:44:38):
Carrie Underwood, Celine dim are they working on something together?
He's an announcement. It was supposed to be revealed yesterday,
but they kind of postponed the announcement. So I don't
know what's happening, but I'll keep you posting. Kelly Clarkson,
you know how she does Kelly oke on her talk show, Well,
she channeled her inner Marion Morris and here's what it
(01:44:59):
sounded like. I'd be rich a job, but they just
had the medal with a camel was like, she's so amazing,
she can do she can sing anything. I sh't Jimmy
kind of mad if she's sang one of your songs though,
because you'd be like, damn it, Kelly stopping it better
(01:45:20):
than you did it better. Netflix is cracking down on
passport sharing. I told you that this was going to happen.
The CEO said, they're exploring a few options in ways
that makes sense to consumers. He says they won't roll
out anything that feels like turning the screws. So I
don't know that mean he's gonna I want to screw everybody.
I don't know. Um. Pete Wentz was almost an X
Men Did you know that? No? Yo. He basically got
(01:45:44):
offered to roll in X Men Origins of Wolverine and
he was actually at the time filming something for Jimmy
Kimmel Alive with Dominic Monahan, and he said, I'll have
to think about it. So by the time he said, oh,
I'll take the part, they said, oh, we're sorry, we
already gave the part away. Guess who got the part,
Dominic Monaghan. Oh, he was actually working at the time.
(01:46:05):
He had to think about it. That's so crazy and
so weird. The universe works and mysterious ways, and we'll
end up with this. Mac Lemore was on Dak Shepherd's podcast,
The Armchair Expert Podcast podcast UM and he was talking
about how he relapsed. UM because you know, he's been
addicted to alcohol and drugs in the past, and during
the pandemic he relapsed. And here's what he had to say, Scary. Yeah, yeah,
(01:46:32):
I just want to say to both you, I really
really resonated with the episode where you talked about your relapse.
Oh and Ive justin timb related I cried. But it
was within like two months of my COVID relapse. So yeah,
(01:46:53):
and he it was very emotional. If you get a
chance to listen, you should. Who was it? That was
mc lemore on with Dak Shepherd. Okay, is making sure
eve been so long since you've done the story? And
then there was a time lapse before Scary played the sound. Yeah,
