Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey, so cord Over Street just dropped in with some
cinnamon rolls. Thank you, Cord. There's no muffins in there.
It's just so you went to muffins, et cetera. So
we got the et cetera.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
You know, we got all it.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
Men.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
Since we've seen you, Cord, oh, probably probably close to
a year, I guess.
Speaker 4 (00:20):
I think you were one of our last guests in
our last studio. I probably it was Christmas when he
came up.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
You've never been to the studio. No, welcome to Midtown
this man, this is bigger. So well, thank you. So
cord Over Street actually lives in New York. Now, he's
a New Yorker. Yeah, and he walks in and says,
it's so cold. I mean, well, it's New York, it's winter.
What do you want.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
I mean, I was told it was cold, but it's
a different level here.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
And then I said, just a few moments ago, Oh,
obviously we have a disconnect because people who don't know
what to talk about talk about the weather. Hey, nice weather.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
But I think that's the case.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
If he's been living here, if he's new to the area,
then I think it's okay to talk about the one
so also.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
Been told I'm disconnected several times.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
I must agree to that. So, I mean, you, but
you shoot all Copolco in Mexico, so you're there for
how many months a year?
Speaker 3 (01:12):
Like three? Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:13):
How nice? I mean, do you ever take that for granted?
Speaker 3 (01:17):
I think I think anybody takes living in Mexico for granted.
It's it's it's honestly amazing. It's you walk you walk
out every morning and just shorts and a T shirt,
and it's great. Then you walk out here in shorts
and T shirt and hits you in the face.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
I mean, do you get a one award for being
the widest man in Mexico. I have been told I'm
translucent jellyfish.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
I'm the only the only white guy pretty much down
there when I'm down there for three months, so I
I'm usually the one, uh who isn't quite understanding the
conversation at the dinner table and having one of my
friends translate for me.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
It's kind of your kind of like your character pretty much. Yeah,
if you haven't watched Allcapolko, they're about to roll into
season three. Were maybe I'm assuming maybe springtime I'm hoping. Uh, yeah,
I think springtime.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
I've seen a little bit of it, just doing ADR
and stuff, and it's it's probably my favorite season so far.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
And what's ADR eight rs? When you go in and
you do you overdub. So if there's like a sound issue,
if they hear like a plane in the background, but
they like to take you kind of, you will. You
will say the words on a mic in a studio
and then they overdubbed. They do that. Yeah, wow, that's
like a real show. Yeah, I wish we could do that.
(02:27):
I wish we could adr somewhere. A crap we say
every morning. I do have a dump button. If you curse,
I push the button. Don't don't don't. We don't have
to do it. You just showed me a button. I
want to push it down. So here's the thing. When
Cord comes to town, we do an interview. We usually
go out for breakfast, and we usually drink and go
buy artwork we shouldn't buy. But today we have kind
of a busy day, So I do you have a
lot of stuff going on today?
Speaker 3 (02:48):
It's actually flying out for for Christmas this afternoon.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
This afternoon. Yeah, oh see, you have to catch your flight,
so you shouldn't be drinking. No, I shouldn't be.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Oh gosh, here we go, here we go.
Speaker 5 (03:01):
Why do we even have this stuff?
Speaker 2 (03:02):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Oh that's Michael, Michael one.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Oh my gosh, he was.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
He was here the other day and brought us his
new whiskey.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
And he was tank great. I I love Michael. His
Christmas album is Unbelievab's awesome.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Well let's talk about that for just a moment. Now,
everybody loves Christmas. When we first heard it, Danielle.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
Went saying, cord I tell you all the time, this
is my favorite Christmas song ever.
Speaker 5 (03:28):
It is.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
It just hits everything.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Yeah, I hear it.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
It makes me happy. It makes me want to dance
around the room. It makes me want to put the
decorations up and be joyous and just it just got
It has everything that you need in a song for
the holidays.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
That is just the biggest compliment. Check off all the boxes?
Does it? Does it have jingle bells?
Speaker 3 (03:50):
It probably does?
Speaker 2 (03:51):
I think it does.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
There's a line this is bells on a sleigh and there.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
What like, what are the boxes you must check off?
Speaker 3 (03:59):
It's you know, it's Christmas sights, bells and a.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Sleigh Mariah, there has to be Misslee Snowman. He does.
Speaker 4 (04:05):
He mentioned that Watsch the movie you mentioned in it.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
It's a wonderful, wonderful that all sounds legitimate.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
It checks off all the bottles. I didn't throw eggnog
in there, though, damn it for those lactose intolerant people hate.
What is your favorite Christmas song of all time? I
have one?
Speaker 3 (04:24):
Oh gosh, I mean, all I Want for Christmas is You.
Is just one of the songs that doesn't ever get old.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
But like, I love it too. So many people hate
it now.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
I think Michael bou blaze it, you know, it's beginning
to look at Christmas is a pretty that's pretty great one.
He does a good job. You have one. Oh mm hmm.
Speaker 5 (04:43):
I like, Oh, Sanna, that one's really growing on me.
We played it the other day.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Mariah Carey, A yeah, that's.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
A great one.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
But your favorite of all time though, I mean, you
just asked me Daniel favorite of all time telling.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
You it's his. I just love it. Before that, it
was walking around the Christmas Tree that was my favorite
of all time. And now this is the new one. Yeah,
I love it.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
Jingle bells, that's snow.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
I mean those are the original Baby It's Cold. We
played it this morning, we played it, We opened the
show with it. Yeah, this Christmas.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
Donny Hathaway and I do love drummer Boy with bust rhymes.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
And Justin Bieber, Yes, has he heard you rap?
Speaker 2 (05:20):
I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
Do we have it?
Speaker 3 (05:21):
Oh gosh, can I hear this? Please? We don't. We
don't have it? No. I uh, you know how they
kind of canceled Baby It's Cold Outside because it's like.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
It's kind of rapy, it's a little and I was like, man,
I wish there was.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
A way you could do that today. And I was like,
oh what if you. I'm just I'm gonna put it
on a record and I'm not going to say anything
and I'm just going to do it like George Bush
singing it with Christopher Walk and.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
How about that one.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
Just be like, h.
Speaker 6 (05:47):
Really can't stay but baby it's called outside. I gotta
go away, But Babby, it's called outside. This evening has
been hoping that you drop in and you just go
into that. You just go back and forth on like
you just don't say anything. You just put it as
a bonus track on a Christmas record.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
It didn't do it, okay, do it hysterical with it? Yeah,
because we see if I make it out alive or
that I think you're so if.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
You just turning his on court Over Street is here
of course Apols on Apple TV plus, right, and of course,
uh it's a song that Daniel's going crazy about. And
also you met our friend Carla Marie, the number one
fan of Falling for Christmas with you and Lindsay Lowan.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
And I was kidding when I said that that's a
dog of a film that did so well. That movie,
it did very well. I'm kidding. By the way I
was kidding. I didn't mean I was kidding. I'm here.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
Uh No. I actually wrote that that that song for
that movie because we were down we were down in
Park City filming and I just kept singing, uh, saying
just its like just it was in the Christmas spirit
all the time, and I just started singing stuff and
I wrote I wrote most of that song when I
was down there, just in the Christmas spirit, and I
was like, I gotta just write a song for this.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
And now Danielle entire now Connomory, you seem to seem
to be fangirling. This is like when what's his name?
When he Wentz came in and you melted on the floor.
I listened.
Speaker 7 (07:09):
I grew up listening to Fallout Boy, right, so I
love them.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
I'm sorry, Corge getting nervous. He's pouring whiskey. Who needs whiskey?
It's really good. Everyone okay, Gandhi.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
Wants a little.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Oh, we're not driving for a while.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
They can story.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Pete went You're in love with him? So I had
him in and Connery. I tried not to working here,
fangirled and sort of embarrassed or.
Speaker 7 (07:33):
I did not embarrass myself. I was a huge Fallout
Boy fan growing up. And then they broke up, but
I started working. This was like in two thousand and
seven they separated from oparated. It was it was a
rough time in my life. Then I started working for
this show. No one knows I'm a fall Up Boy
fan because they didn't exist at that point. Then they
the boys were coming back together. We were the first ones
(07:56):
to know. And I was like, guys, you should know
that I am a huge fall Out Boy friendly. I've
seen them so many times. They were like what And
I got to be in the interview with them. It
was a huge moment in my life.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
You can tell it's still huge. It is. That's why
you've taken over the entire court orchestrating. Where's where's Anthony there?
So this is great. So this is Michael bou Blaze
whiskey amazing and uh he said in Canada, there's this
place where two rivers come together, like they are really dirty,
funky river and a really clean river, and where they
(08:28):
come together, that's where they get the water for this.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
Thompson exactly.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
Yeah, those are the rivers.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
So there you go. So to court over Street, you guys,
thank you guys for having me, absolute thanks for being had.
Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas, Elvis.
Speaker 5 (08:51):
You you seem to have a lot of impressions.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Yeah, that's all I grew up doing the impressions. Yeah,
a lot, a little bit of Michael Bay. It's it's
just like you just kind of like scoop a lot
of the nice's beginning. So look on a lot like Christmas.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
Who was it you were doing before, Matthew McConaughey, it
was my favorite.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
Oh you know, it's uh, it's beginning to look a
lot like Christmas. Everywhere you go.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
I mean, you're like almost right on it's.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
It's it's close. It's uh, I did a I've done
that so many years now, but I feel like it's
second nature to me. But I think I've done it
for Matthew a couple of times unintentionally.
Speaker 5 (09:37):
Was he impressed or was he like, get away from me.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
He's like, that's a voice shouts really familiar.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
I think the people do the best impressions are the
ones that don't sound exactly like them. You have to
fold a little of you into it. That's what makes
it interesting.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
It has to be a little bit of a character
of that person.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
So welcome to New York for Christmas. I mean New
York really owns Christmas.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
It's beautiful, it's I mean, just walking around is probably
one of the most magical experiences I've had around Christmas.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
Have you gone to the tree yet?
Speaker 3 (10:10):
I have? God the ice skating the tree?
Speaker 1 (10:13):
Did you ice skate?
Speaker 3 (10:15):
I was. I went around the rink and I was
going to and then they close it because it started raining.
Speaker 5 (10:19):
You looked up, Yeah, yeah, I heard the ice skating
was crazy expensive? Is this true? Someone told me it
was like eighty dollars a person. What Scotty said, it's
eighty bucks a person to go ice skating.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
I wouldn't let them pay me that the way these
literally the kids start skating around you and I fall
over and they laugh at the old man. I can't do.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
I played hockey growing up. If I had to, like
try to wead through a bunch of kids falling over,
it would be.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
I know, you can't go to the ice skating rink
at Rockefeller Center with a hockey stick start beating the kids,
or could you. It's frowned upon themselves. So you moved
to New York City. Like my question I always ask is,
why would you ever move to New York City. I'm
not saying you shouldn't, but I want to hear your
reason for moving here. I mean, there's just so much
(11:00):
life in the city. It's close to Europe, close to London.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
I spent a month in London last year and loved this,
So I'm probably gonna do that and work on music
there a lot this year. And yeah, I wanted to
try something different. I've been in Los Angeles for like
close to fifteen years.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Now, right, I love that, you know, I want to
go to London for a month and work on music.
What a what a life? I mean, I hope you
never ever take that for granted. No, no, no, that's
like it's pretty much all I do. I travel for work,
so I don't really have to be stationed anywhere.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
We can do that.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
We can take our I knew it was coming our
broadcasting stuff with us and places for a.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
Month during pandemic. We all scattered, we went home. Oh yeah,
So I'm only here like once or twice a week.
I'm at the farm man growing soybeans. I'm growing soybeans
at Soybean's out at the farm. I am at the
farm in Jersey. I have to go to a farm
Bureau meeting Tonightah.
Speaker 5 (11:52):
He's really protective of his land.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
By the way, wait, are you gonna Are you gonna
host like a farm aide show?
Speaker 1 (11:57):
I could you could maybe if as long as you
don't detroy my so beans. I'm in. But yeah, so
farmer Elvis is going to the farm Elvis. I'm going
to the farm Bureau meeting tonight.
Speaker 5 (12:07):
Just one seed. Just let me plant the one seed.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
You tell me what you want to do to my beautiful,
my beautiful acres. Of fall.
Speaker 5 (12:12):
I think this is important to ruin it. He thinks
I want to plant weed. That is not what I
want to plant. I got some redwood seeds from California,
and I think we need some redwoods out here in Jersey.
They gave me the seeds, they let me take them.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Now I just have Can you have redwoods out here?
Does it work?
Speaker 1 (12:27):
I don't know. Keep in mind, the redwoods in California
are eight thousand feet tall and forty million years old.
Speaker 5 (12:33):
Imagine an eight thousand foot tall tree in your rood.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
It wouldn't have forty million years exactly.
Speaker 5 (12:38):
You know, one day a dinosaur will love that tree.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
He pulled me up one more and I'm gonna play
your song all right now? Okay, so back to moving town.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
He's got to be wasted to do it.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
You're gonna broby me.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
Elvis hates Christmas?
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Did you puur you one? I still got a little bit. Okay.
So here's the thing. Moving to New York City. And
I've told this story before about Josh, who works for us.
He moved from Cleveland. He says, what do I need
to make to feel comfortable in New York City? My
answer is no. One feels comfortable in New York's billionaires
don't feel comfortable here. That's the point. You got to
be on edge and be uncomfortable. That's what this city
(13:12):
is about.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
Yeah, And I think that the cool thing about the
city is is it's not it's weirdly not as based
on status as Los Angeles says talk about that, like
like I feel like everybody's just really like cool and
kind of down to earth and has their own stuff
going on. And Los Angeles is great, but people live
there primarily for the entertainment industry, and there's there's just
so much more diversity here of just different careers and
(13:35):
you just learn a lot more and meet a lot
of cool people that are international and just you know,
it's it's it's a way cooler experience in my opinion.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
I feel like in La everyone's trying to be somebody,
do you know what I mean? Or they know somebody
that has written something or.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
Is producing, or they're just trying to meet you know,
famous factors or.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
Here, oh so who you're dating, and any of Miami.
We're on in Miami right now. Miami is a whole
other beast, which I love. I mean, you go there
and you expect to party, you expect to just be
beautiful and and just do your thing. I mean, I
love how all of our cities that we're in have
a personality, Like Philly has a personality, we're everywhere. I
love that.
Speaker 7 (14:13):
Do you feel like?
Speaker 3 (14:14):
So?
Speaker 5 (14:14):
I had a couple of friends who moved to LA,
and they said it was really hard to build friendships,
genuine friendships in LA because of exactly what you were
talking about. Everyone's trying to get into entertainment. So they
said it felt like more competitive with each other than
being able to build some solid relationships.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
I don't know. I think if you spend enough time
with anybody, you figure out if you if you vibe
with them or not. And I have a lot of
really great friends in Los Angeles that are pretty much
my chosen family that but they're off, they're off from
scattered places all. There's not really a lot of people
from LA. They're kind of all right, implants. Well, New
York's kind of like that a little bit. Well, no, no,
we have one New Yorkers in New York to LA.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
People New Yorkers moved to Florida.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
But I know when you come to New York and
you say, hey, uh, what do you do? Well, I'm
a Broadway actor. Oh well, what restaurant do you work here?
It works.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
It's kind of the same thing in LA.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
But you know what, But to your point, Daniel, you're saying,
if you it seems like you're in LA, you're there
to connect and to move up the It's the same
in New York. That's why having a relationship in New
York is kind of difficult because you come here. Priority
one is that ladder you're climbing, right. The thing is
when you when you're at the top of the ladder, like,
what do you do? You move to LA? Climb another one.
I guess.
Speaker 4 (15:19):
I feel like though, when you walk around the city
here and like you're a celebrity or whatever, people don't
really bother you.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
They're kind of like doing their own thing, Like whatever
is it like that in LA? Do people like come
up and be like hey.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
I think it just depends on where you go.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
Yeah, yeah, choose your friend's wise.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
Yeah, you know, don't go to you don't want to
go like sit out in front of the ivy and right,
you know, just just sit there and just wait for somebody.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
I have to I'm always in front of the ivy
WA Yeah exactly, and I'm glad you said his name.
People are asking who is this? Cord Over Street is
here because we've been on for a while and hope
people you know, people turn us on and turn us off.
It's on and off. You never know where they're going
to jump on. So cord Over Streets here, we've talked about.
He's moving down New York. He's here now Acapulco, about
(16:02):
to do season three or what to see that it's
already shot.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
Yeah, we've already filmed it.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
He's translucent in the country of Mexico. In Mexico. Yeah,
what is it? Chord Over Street? Yeah exactly, Daniel. And
now it's the next song we're playing by our friend
chord Over Street.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
This is my favorite Christmas song. Everybody loves Christmas Over Street.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
She loves it. Thank you guys. You guys are awesome.
It's a fun song. It's a don't take this wrong,
it's a it's a great Christmas song. It doesn't make
me have to think, yeah, does it make sense?
Speaker 3 (16:36):
Well, if Christmas Christmas songs make you have to think,
it's probably it.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
Could be the song from chaer.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
So this is Christmas.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
See see that's a thinker exactly. So Cord just said
he hasn't heard shares Christmas song.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
I haven't. It hasn't been shared with me.
Speaker 5 (16:55):
See what he did there?
Speaker 1 (16:56):
See what you do there? This is a bad bad
dad joke. It's okay joke. So the thing about the
Share song, she uses that auto tune. She abuses the
auto tune. I love it, t pain pain. I think
this is the number one song in the country right now.
Is it not play a Christmas song? You want to
hear it?
Speaker 3 (17:12):
Yeah? I would love to.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
Okay, this is dedicated from all of us to our
friend cordover Street. Share. You're gonna love it. You're gonna dance,
You're gonna prance. Her jingle bells and her she has
jingle bells. Sharees the jingle bell budget.
Speaker 3 (17:29):
I hope the lyrics in there. Here we go on
the street.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
Be honest, be honest, Share, come on do it.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
Let me gosh, I think I think that might be
one of the best Christmas songs I've ever heard.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Oh my god, you found your way to my heart.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
Oh gosh. Okay, so let me go down there.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
We can all share everybody, thank you, everybody loves Christmas.
Of course Daniel's favorite song is out now it's been out,
and of course Apple TV play us is gonna back
in the spring. I predict is it gonna be a fourth?
Do we know?
Speaker 3 (18:07):
I think we have. I think we have another story
to wrap up here, So I think there is hopefully
a fourth. From what I've seen and what I've heard,
everybody is really excited.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
So if you've never seen, it's so much fun.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
What can you go to that resort? Or is that
just a set?
Speaker 3 (18:24):
No? So the first year they it was an actual hotel.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
It was it was in Putover Yard, though it was
in the.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
It was like east like miss Miss Maloya.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
Hello, Scotty, Scotty, that's where we went. Remember that what
was the name of Miss Malloya? Yeah, that's where we
were with a little market there, yea.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
And it's it's a really cute area. But the I
think the owner of the hotel got when he watched
the show, was pissed that they painted at pink. It
looked it was way better pink than that ugly brown
mustard color. They had it into pink, and so then
they I think they were like they tried to like
kind of golluge him as far as getting the place.
(19:08):
And so we went to another place. It was even
