Speaker 1 (00:01):
Today's Daily Highlight from Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Hey, so, okay, hear me out. I never really was
onto online dating or even online hooking up, okay, because
I just had it already. Not to brag, but anyway,
So we were sitting around the other night out at
the in the middle of nowhere where our house is located.
I said, I wonder how many of these local yocals

(00:28):
are on grinder. Okay, let's go on and see who's
you know, not only see how close they are to
where we live, or may how like, do they work
at the local grocery store, because out there, you know,
there's less people, it's not as concentrated as the city.
So we went on line and it, oh my god,
this guy used to work at the grocery store, used
to check me out, literally at the checkout counter. He

(00:49):
final these people. And then you look in this guy's
he's a thousand feet away from where we live right now,
and we live on acreage right now. That means he's
like the next farm over are he's sleeping and sleeping
in the hayloft, which is sort of a fantasy, right.
So I'm thinking, well, let's go to the city where
we have apartment buildings. We're living in an apartment building

(01:11):
filled with people. Every block has, you know, hundreds of
thousands of people. There's guys looking for sex like three
feet away from me. I'm like, oh my god, are
they above me? Are the on top of me? Where
are they? I guess?

Speaker 3 (01:30):
So, so your idea was iHeart, Well, you know where
we work. I wonder who in this building is on
that app and maybe people that we don't know are
baby Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
And that's totally fine. So I'm waiting for the doors
to open, like in a couple of hours, I'm gonna
start to see who's here.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
Ye able to identify them, because isn't it just like
a lot of torsos and dingers?

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Yeah yeah, yeah, I don't. They don't really show dingersig building.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
So I want or how many people you're gonna find?

Speaker 2 (02:01):
They could be the inches away from you. Well, look,
here's Nate. I do have a question though, what so
why are you on here? Curiosity? Because we were thinking
about who in acuse the conversation came up with other
people like it's a friend of ours I'm paraphrasing, anyway,
a friend of ours knew someone on Grinder who never

(02:23):
suspected would be on there, and so like, who's around us?
So we started looking. Okay, so you could go on
with tender most of.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
The dating apps, yeah, I think.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
And it gives you geo tracks everyone, So I don't
know because I don't go on them how close until
now Hello.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
That also means that they're going to see you on
there and they're gonna be like, oh, I'm looking for sex.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Right now, I'm so cloaked. No, I'm one of those.
It's just it's just like the silhouette of a person
I say nothing about me.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
If we have people starting creeping around outside of our
studio and we're like, where do you come from?

Speaker 5 (02:56):
We heard somebody in here is on Tinder.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
It's like it's like having a metal detector to beach exactly, Homo,
watch that froggy.

Speaker 6 (03:13):
Now.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
Is Grinder specifically a hookup app? Or is it also
a dating app? Well, let's call a spad's it's a
hookup app. Okay, there was. I've learned with my recent
travels on this app that some of some of them
are saying you looking for friendship, looking for someone to
go out to the bar with.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Yeah, right is specifically for men. Grinder, So why is
it called grind her? Shouldn't we called grind him or something?

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Grind g R I N d R is not even
an E in it. So there they're making they're being
very clear, there's no E. I'm gonna throw a flag
on the play there.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
I think somebody has found a relationship on Grinder at
least one.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Everybody messes around and falls and love nate, but it's
not wasn't intended that way in the beginning.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Well, you know, you know all the terminology, like all
the grinder terminology here.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
Why are you getting close to me? Why is it
close to me that excited? I feel like when Tinder
first came out, it was for relationships, but that quickly
turned the corner. It's had nothing but hookups. Tinder's nothing
but a hook up that you're not going to find
a husband or a wife on that. Okay, well, he says,
with certain certainty, people have it stopped generalizing. Go stand

(04:28):
by gandhi, freak her out?

Speaker 6 (04:29):
No, please, what I mean?

Speaker 2 (04:33):
You know you're kind of close to me. I can
feel your breath on my neck. Well no, you don't, no, no,
don't play like the victim here. How would you like
it if I was like breathing on your neck? No,
don't be sorry, seriously, don't easy. Gets creepy when someone's
breathing on your neck.

Speaker 5 (04:48):
Yeah, well I don't.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Maybe if you spake them up on grinder, it's not right. Yeah,
that didn't pick you up. And if it's smells like
last night's.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
Garlic anyway, I don't like being breathed on.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
It's interesting. Interesting. I just I look at it, look
at it from the society point of view, because I'm
not looking afflict with anyone. But it's interesting to like
try to figure out like this guy his face looks
from oh my god.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Yes, well that's like when we went to the sex club.
Remember all those years ago, we went to that S
and M club in New York City. We went as
a group as an experiment because we were curious. And
there were like the guys that you sit next to
every day at work, and they had their clothes folded
in a nice pile getting ready to be spanked, so
you don't.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
Know who's doing what and who's wearing you know.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
One guy had an apple in his mouth, remember, and
his feet were in the things.

Speaker 5 (05:35):
Yeah, and he could have been your dentist.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
They called him lu al lu Hello. He was on
the spit right ready to go. Anyway, So I got
someone wants to talk about the Grinder thing. This is
so okay. This could answer a few questions that were
raised earlier. Hi, Brent, how are you feeling?

Speaker 6 (05:57):
Hey, good morning? Doing well in yourself.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Doing very well. So we're talking about Grinder and you
know all the dating and hookup apps, like how many
people were actually married after these things? So you have
an interesting scenario that you saw about ten years ago,
right what happened?

Speaker 6 (06:15):
Yeah? So ten years ago, you know, single, not sure
what I want to do. I knew I didn't want
to hook up. I just wanted friends, so decided to
get on there. Had it listed in my profile. Only friend.
If you're looking for anything else, don't even bother writing
me because I'm not interested, okay, all right? And all
of a sudden, this guy wrote me, and I was like,

(06:37):
all right, I know what you're looking for. I'm not,
so let's go ahead and just end the conversation. I'm
only looking for a friend, and he goes, well, I
am too. I was like, oh, okay, you know, we'll
see where this goes. End up starting to date after that,
It was probably about three months after we started talking

(06:58):
online that up. Finally we kept talking on the phone,
we were texting, decided to meet up for dinner. Ten
years later, we've been married for five years.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Oh well, okay, okay, so it happened. Yeah, exactly. So
anyone who says no, these things are absolutely nothing but
hookup apps, they're not correct.

Speaker 6 (07:19):
That is correct.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
And so I bet there's a ka billion people listening
to us right now that would say the same thing.
Oh no, but you are very specific when when you
when you put the when you filled in your profile
and stuff. I'm not looking for anything but just someone
to talk to and be friends with.

Speaker 6 (07:35):
But I correct. I didn't want to lead anyone on,
and I didn't want them to lead me on thinking
that we were looking for two different things and it
was never going to work for either one of them.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
I know. But Brent, if you if anyone ever asked
how you guys met and you tell them, do they
look at you like oh okay, and.

Speaker 6 (07:49):
You're like no, no, really, they look they think I'm crazy.
They're like, no, you didn't we know what that site
is and I'm like, no, seriously, well.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
About to be fair, it really is it truly is
that it is for many different things. It's there's a
lot of different things you can find on Grinder and
Hallmark movie. It is it really, I'm seeing that particular one.
It's a hallmarker you watching. Alright, Well, congratulations Brent, and
thank you. I love that you uh you gave us

(08:21):
affirmation there. I appreciate it and have a great day.

Speaker 6 (08:23):
Okay, all right, thanks to you. Grace too.

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
