Speaker 1 (00:01):
Today's daily Highlight from Elvis Duran in the morning show,
we have to talk to John Scott, who's been Hi, John,
welcome to our show. Thank you for spending time with us.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Hey, thanks for having me.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
So let me tell you about John Scott. John Scott
is doing Let me butter your biscuit. John Scott has
been successfully doing mornings at QIK in Jacksonville for thirty years.
Congratulations on that. I don't know. We've been doing this
a long time too, and gravity does take it. It's toll,
(00:36):
but listen and thank you for putting up with our
Froggy as your program director. Downer.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
He he loves you, by the way, and I believe
it or not, he loves you too. Elvis.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Well, I don't know sometimes I wonder that about that.
So John was, of course, uh, doing some shopping at
Public's and with a little arthritis, he was, you know,
doing a little a little lempy dance, which you will
do from time to time with our threatic conditions in
your leg, right, John, correct, all right, tell everyone what
happened and take your time with it. Just tell us
(01:07):
exactly how you were feeling when these things were happening
to you.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Go. Arthritis was a little affecting me a little bit
more than usual that day. This is just two days ago,
and so I am doing the limpye dance a little bit,
trying to not look like you're limping as you're walking,
carrying with the shopping cart in front of you. And
then literally out of nowhere there is nobody on the aisle. Thought.
He just appears behind me and kind of taps me
(01:33):
on the shoulder and says, hey, excuse me. I noticed
that you're having some trouble walking. And I was like, oh, yeah,
it's just arthritis. I've been dealing with for about a year.
I'm between getting some treatment. So today's just kind of
especially bad today, I guess. And I was just trying
to explain it to him it's not so bad. And
he goes, what do you mind if I pray for you?
(01:54):
And I was like, you know, I've had this happen.
I'm a praying person myself, and I thought, man, dude,
I'll always accept prayer always, And so we start praying
right there on Isle nine, right next to the wall light,
and uh, and he's and then he starts starts praying
(02:16):
for me, and he wants Lord, I want you to
pray a heel John's arthritis and his hip and and
if it's in his knees or wherever it may be
hurting him, please take this arthritis away. And I've known
people who have done this kind of prayer before, and
I feel awkward when I'm with him and they pray
for somebody else. You know, he just kind of it's
just kind of a more awkward thing for me. Even
(02:38):
though I am a I'm a solid Christian, I've that
part of the outreach part is kind of odd. Next thing,
you know, he gets done praying and I say, hey, well,
thank you so much for that. I appreciate that. And
I was about to, you know, move on. He goes, well,
go ahead, give it a give it a try. And
I went, man, I'm going to have to test drive
(03:00):
this after you pray for me. And so I go, okay,
and I take a few steps and it's I swear
it is gone. Wow, the arthritis in my hip was gone.
I still have something. I'm still have pulled a muscle
on my leg, so I have a little bit. But
I know the difference, and I know the difference of
(03:21):
what was arthritis and what is this little muscle tear
we have. But I was blown away. And so I
look at him and look him straight in the eye
and pull the old Jimmy Stewart from It's a Wonderful
Life and say who are you? And he just goes,
(03:41):
my name's Joshua. And I was like, wow, he goes,
I'm just a believer. Man. I'm saying, well, I am too,
but I just don't walk around healing people. H man,
thank you. And I only thing about him that I
remembered he had a you know, just a normal looking dude,
had a hat, he had ear rings, like stud ear rings,
(04:02):
not diamonds, not jewels, just like studs in his ear
and just dressed like a normal guy on the west
side of Jacksonville would be. And then I turned back
around and I was trying to move my golf, my
shopping cart over to the side. I look back again
to thank him, and he was gone. Not a sight.
No turning off the aisle, going toward the dairy. No,
(04:25):
he was gone. And then I started thinking, wait, dude,
he didn't even have a shopping cart with him, he
didn't have any groceries in his hand. And then, as
you are in a grocery store. You're going to see
the same people six seven times before you check out.
I go walking around the publics and I go looking
for this guy and I can't find it anywhere.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
So I mean, in just a split second, he was gone.
He disappeared. By the way, how many of you have
goosebumps right now? And John, do you still get goosebumps
when you tell this story?
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Because if I were, If I was, I would every
time every time. In fact, it gets deeper every time
that I keep going that actually did happen to me?
And the more I tell it, the more I just
it sinks in. I've had just a little quick backtrack.
I've had a heck of a month. I had both
of my sisters passed away at the first of this year,
(05:17):
and that was a big blow to me, both the
only last family I had or my two sisters, and
so it's been a it's been a it's been a
rough month. And and then to have that happen in
the middle of a Publix, I just I just thought, well,
you know, and as Foggy said, it put your faith
in humanity, and I said, I don't think that was
humanity at work. That's what blows me away.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
Are you gonna go ask Publics for the footage?
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (05:43):
You should.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
I thought about that, and I thought about going. I said,
can you maybe I can see and uh, if I
can run that, if I can run that back? But
then I don't know, you know, where's the faith involved there?
But it is interesting that you do want to see it.
You know.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Now, what if you turn around and you see yourself
talking to yourself.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Well, I would have amazing right, exactly know.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
I've I mean, first of all, I got a tear
in my eye because this is it's a beautiful story
and you can just tell by you guys can tell
by listening to John's voice. He's just a really great
guy and deserves all the best, especially after the loss
of your two sisters and and everything You've been in
the pain and agony of thirty years of radio. But
(06:31):
I'm kidding, But how has I mean? You may not
be able to define this out loud with words, but
how has your life changed since that day on Aisle
nine at Public's.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
I since it's only been two days, I'm still trying
to process it, and I have we I go to church.
I'm a regular church going guy, But I really I
don't go to those I don't go to the places.
I almost skeptical of the healing churches and all that
kind of stuff. So don't take me as one of
those guys who just trying to, you know, press the
word on. I'm really blown away. But as a believer,
(07:04):
it deepens my faith and it makes me less reticent
to share my faith. If a guy can come up
to me or whomever that was, can come up to
me in the middle of the publix and want to
pray for me and do things like that and then
honestly heal my hip, and if it goes away tomorrow,
I'll go what the heck of was that? For three
(07:25):
straight days? Yeah, I walk, you know, So I'm not
even going to I'm not even going to be I'm
not even going to be skeptical. If it's Sunday, I
wake up in my hip's hurting. But that's just crazy.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
Yeah, that's crazy.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
It's like the movies where some greater entity just comes
down to earth and is like.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
Who believes in this? Like an angel. It's like an
angel showed up on my online at public.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
I agree that that's what I'm talking it up to
you know, I've here, We've had other stories. My sister had,
my wife had a story thirty five years ago about
a man that helped her that found you know, you
hear those stories happened to my wife where a man
had helped her, and that guy doesn't exist, you know,
according to anybody else. So we have encountered that once before.
(08:08):
But you never look for it. You never think it's
going to happen until until it happens, and even.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Then you're not one hundred percent convinced there's all. Well,
I wouldn't be. I mean, I would be like point
zero zero zero five percent, like still like trying to
figure that. It's like watching and I hate to compare it.
It's like watching a magic trick from a great magician.
I happen to believe it's better just to let the
trick go and enjoy it and not try to figure
(08:34):
it out right right exactly. So this is so defined
and it's so real, and it's you know what, it
changed your life in ways you probably can't recognize and change,
but it changed our lives when you told the story.
You know, you sharing this with us is life changing
for everyone listening to this show. I think it's it's a.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Good so I agree. I appreciate that. I appreciate the
opportunity to tell a story like this because maybe somebody
has had these encounters and thinking, uh, you know, you
brush it off your shoulder and just go. That was funky,
but it could be a little bit more than that,
and you know, check check it.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
Out well any anywhere questions for John anyway? Can you
tell me which public this was so I can get.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
There because I still I got some gout in my elbow,
And I said, I wish I would have given him
the laundry list of cracklong with me. I would have
loved the whole I forgot. I pulled a muscle. It's
like on the car wash at the gas station. I'll
take the works. Please.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
Did you did you share this with if he could
call one hundred two forts here one.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
You would love to hear from. Yeah, did you did
you share this with your listeners at q I K.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
I did did this yesterday and it was amazing and
and got some calls and people are saying, hey, it's
happened to me before, and you're you'd be amazed how
many people? So I'm thinking maybe more people would will
step forward and not be so be so shy about
maybe sharing the miracles that have happened and people.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
It's funny you say that, because having faith in God,
belief in God or the universe if you want to
call it or whatever, a lot of people don't want
to share the great things that have happened to them
because people were like, well, you know your gummy's kicked in,
you know, your eyes okay, whatever, and so therefore, you know,
rather than going through ridicule, you know, just knowing you
(10:21):
share it with that close group of people that you
know trust you and believe in you. That's you know,
that's maybe that's why these stories aren't being told as much.
But I'm so glad you told your story. We're so
so so blessed to have you on our show today, John.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
Elvis, it was great beyond with all of y'all, and
I appreciate it so much to give you opportunity to
tell that story.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
And Froggie, thank you for bringing John to us. We
appreciate it abosolutely.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
When he told me the story first thing Wednesday morning,
or actually was the first thing yesterday morning, Yeah, I
was in I mean I was blown away.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
I was.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
I went back and talked to John two or three
times about it yesterday.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Yeah, it's crazy.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
So there you go, all all from Aisle nine at
a public's grocery store in Jacksonville. That particular republics will
soon have a ises and loaves section.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
We multiply for free. Yeah, we multipply for free.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
And the good news they'll be wine there too, so
we're all good water and wine. John, thank you so much.
You have a great weekend and all the best with
your life.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Okay, you two, Elvis, thanks everybody absolutely.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
John. Wow, Wow, I love hearing stories like that.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
He has had such a rough year. He lost his
sister on New Year's Eve and then ten days later
he lost his other sister, so both of his older
sisters in ten days. And he's really had a rough year.
So that was it was awesome to see that happen
for him.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
And you did you say his name is Joshua, the
guy that came so the Lord called Joshua to be
the new prophet after the prophet Moses was taken to heaven.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
Wow, I just goog.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
And now he's just the Bible. Also say he's on
Aisle nine.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
They did not.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
I might add that to his Wikipedia page, though,
