Speaker 1 (00:01):
Today's Daily Highlight from Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
There is this skyscraper apartment building they're building down in
the Seaport district, and it's like a I think it
was slated to be what the tallest apartment building in
America at least I think, so okay, right, scary you
sent the story out yesterday.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Yes, it's supposed to be the tallest.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
And one hundred and something stories whatever. Well, it's starting
to lean. It's not finished yet, and there's some apartments
in this place are supposed to be like a hundred
million dollars apartments. I think. Whatever people, No, no, no, there's
still but apparently there's some kind of shifting in the
ground underneath a hundred stories below down from the from

(00:45):
the penthouse. So it started it started to lean toward
the seaport.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
They were saying there was something unstable in the foundation.
So all construction is halted and now it's all these
lawsuits flying and there's a lot of finger pointing and
who's to blame for this? So they don't know when
this project is even gonna get done because they say
it leans a little bit more every single day.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Yeah, sure, people already bought like complex. Well, you know, right, yeah, yeah,
I guess, like what do you do? I mean, my
feeling is I don't know much about construction. If it's
one hundred and something stories, they're probably gonna have to
take that down, thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
And if you look at the pictures of it, it
looks like it's already crumbling.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
So definitely it's in construction.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Fact, this building looks like it's cursed, so it's I
think it's going to be sixty one stories and a
construction worker fell to his death there. In twenty seventeen,
a crane operator smashed a concrete bucket into the thirty
fourth floor, damaging the deck and dropping material on the
street below.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Let it go.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
The FDN why has declared it a fire hazard. A
contractor is suing the developer accused the contractor of filing
a lawsuit to draw attention away from their inability to
finish the project. But it just seems like it's one
thing after another, let me.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Tell you, especially after what happened with the World Trade
Center towers. Here on nine to eleven, we're looking at apartments.
If it's above second floor, I get a little nervous.
I don't want to go. I don't want to be higher.
And we live on the twelfth floor of our building,
and I get sometimes I'm like, well, I gotta get
two dogs and get out of here. If there's a problem,
God forbid. But you know, so you buy, ah, let's

(02:13):
get let's get a palace in the sky. One hundred
floors up. You can see as far as I can see. Well,
not while you're falling into the ocean. You can't.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Let me tell you, this is my worst night, America.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
You live way up there.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
I'm way high up in the sky, and I am
always like, oh my god, what if the foundation isn't solid.
We see all these stories all the time. Whenever it's
windy or there's a storm and I feel something, I'm like,
this is it? Oh no, I love it up there.
But also there's there's a like a building that's built
over is it the GW Bridge that it's like on top?

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Yeah, you have the apartments. Every time I go under
the GW Bridge, I think, I wonder how stable well
they've been there for many years. They're probably doing okay,
I hope. So I think all those people listening to
them right now as they're getting ready for work. So maybe, yes,
they're good. You're good. I do worry there's a super
highway below you, but no problem.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
You're fine. They also say that this building is leaning
because it was constructed using soil improvement methods instead of
a piling method used by all the other skyscrapers.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Whatever that means. It sounds bad.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Don't do it again.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Anyways. They halted construction of this thing a long time ago.
But we're just we're looking for an apartment for Nate,
and we're thinking maybe that I bet you get a
good deal in that penthouse, I think so. I mean,
do you think they'll have some sort of rider in
the contract where you have to have all of your
furniture on one side of the apartment. You don't have
to do it. It'll probably move the furniture on its own.
It's like when you sit down to eat and you

(03:30):
put your boiled egg on the table and it rolls off.
How much did I pay for that? Anyway? Good luck
with that interesting the leaning Tower of Pisa, if ever
they would you ever go into that? I would never
walk into the Leaning Tower. I don't even want to
be near it, because you know, you know they have

(03:52):
that Jenga building downtown on the Leonard Street, and we
figured if that thing falls, it may hit our apartment.
I don't think it's I think it's very well constructed,
as you were waking there, right up there, right now
and brushing your teeth. Anyway, we got to move on.
We live in a city where we don't have room
to move out. We move up. Bad idea Arty
